Not quite MOTN but close enough! Wonder if I give him a titty twister, might he feel some of our pain ;)

Lolol I joked to DH telling him I should let LO try to latch to him, so he feels exactly how strong his latch is lol

When DS was about two weeks old, DH wanted to know how it felt for me to breastfeed him. Well, he let DS latch on, and screamed bloody murder. Since I was in the other room, I ran in, and when I realized what happened, I cracked up laughing and couldn't stop. MIL did too, since we were at her house, she heard everything. It was so hilarious!!! He doesn't dare try that again. Lol
This is great! Love that he tried though. My DH would freak any time DS turned his head into him and started opening and closing his mouth around his chest! He is such a baby about it. Great story!
  • I've been trying to get DD to go to sleep since 8pm. Its after midnight now and she keeps going to sleep for a few minutes and then waking up. I may go insane. I had coffee this afternoon and I never drink caffeine. I hope that's the reason for this evil creature that has replaced my baby bc I don't want another night like this again.

My DH tried to do this too but his nipple was too small and his chest too flat for her liking. He gets tacos for at least trying!

  • So, apparently, if I keep DS up between 5 and 8:30, he will pass out for 6 hours...or so I'm hoping. This coming from me, who's baby has barely gine more than 3 hours for stretches of sleep. Hoping u have figured out my DS. But I'm not holding my breath.
  • LO was awake almost all day with only like two twenty minute naps, not like ds. About midnight I was thinking good god, hell week is going to begin, he is going to decide he doesn't like to sleep anymore. He finally broke his strike and I Woke up to little baby coo's SIX hours later! First time ever, I could cry.
  • I thought crazy nightmares were just during pregnancy... Holy moly, this dream was bad. I woke up crying. Thank goodness LO woke me up. Her snuggles really helped.

I'm sorry, I know the feeling, I've had a couple bad ones myself :( FX you can g back to sleep and dream of something nice.
  • I've been having nightmares too. Make it stop!!
  • She went down to bed early.. so I'm just sitting here staring at the baby monitor thinking "any minutes now, right?" Even though I know recently her trend has been 6 hours for the first sleep and 4 for the second... I am wasting good sleep time here with this insomnia.

  • We got almost a 6 hour stretch of sleep tonight!! I was worried it was only going to be a couple hours since he napped late and we went to bed an hour early. But yay!!
  • I'll take the 5 hrs, but not the 1.5 and 1 after that...it's like a tease!

Not gonna lie I counted the words ... I do it every time that phrase is used cause I've caught myself going "wait ... How many words now"

But I saw them on Amazon the other day when I was window shopping for Xmas presents for DS. At first I was like what's the point ... But I got there! Great idea!

Four year old won't go to sleep, and just when I FINALLY laid down, the boob monster awoke and wanted to be changed and fed. She pooped and woke herself up. Lol. Headache is fully forming right now. Tomorrow should be fun!!! (sarcastically, of course)
  • It's after midnight and almost 30 minutes ago I was finishing up mopping the floor because maintenance is coming tomorrow to everyone's apartments and installing all kinds of energy saving crap (I already have low flow showers and faucets and our power bill is only $100 so I'm annoyed that random energy techs are going to be here with maintenance dudes) and dh's phone rang. I went into the bedroom and asked who it was and he said his dd's mother and that's never good when she calls this late, they are usually fighting. He waited and listened to the message and she's having her appendix out and they are at the hospital. She will be fine, I'm not worried about her.

What pissed me off was that when I said "you're probably not going to work tomorrow, are you?" He actually started arguing with me about having to have the fmla paperwork for the dr to sign. FFS, seriously!?!? If you get a call in the middle of the night, you can have her pcp sign it in a day or two. He just would not or could not comprehend that of your child is in the er and surgery in the middle of the night or early morning, you cannot be expected to go to work for a freaking meeting. Ugh.

Ok vent over. Before this everything was going so well, baby in bed by 10. Toddler still being a beast resisting bed but hey, that's life. House is clean. New scentsy smell brewing. And now once this three year old gets to sleep, I can pump and head to bed myself.
  • Today is LO's 2 month appt... Where has the time gone?

Nope, not so good. I had high hopes. You would think glow in the dark technology would be better by now!

  • @mana8503‌ I had the same thoughts! I'm not going to sit the pacifier under a light for god knows how long, to have it work for maybe five minutes. Sigh.

  • Can someone tell me when the 2nd leap goes away? There's an hour in the morning when baby girl is happy. The rest is eating, 10 min nap back to screaming. She screams so much she won't latch. I'm slowly losing my mind.

  • I really wish he'd stop wiggling his hands out of his swaddle and going Edward Scissor Hands on his face. No matter how often I file them, his nails are always razor sharp.

  • She actually managed to unvelcro herself out of the swaddle (how??) and I walk in to baby zombie arms flailing in the air. For a split second I thought my DH had played a cruel joke on me.
  • Perfect sleeping angel from 8:15pm until 12:57am... and then we nursed... every two hours... I am so glad DH only has 3 overnights left, and one of them she sleeps away at grandmas... I'm ready to pump and dump it all tomorrow night (momma needs to DRINK) and let the weaning process begin Sunday.

LO would not eat in the cross cradle position at 2 am. I had to bust out the football hold which is really awkward when she's almost 2 ft tall! Now, she doing just fine back with the cc.

DS had been sleeping 6-8 hour stretches for the last few weeks, but last night and the night before he dropped to 4 hours. I don't mind either way, but my supply had already regulated to STTN, so these new nighttime feedings take forever because there's just not a lot in there (I have a low supply already), and it seems to affect the rest of the day as well, since I'm not as full in the mornings. Hopefully we either drop these new MOTN feedings, or my nighttime supply increases soon.

Good luck. I vote he goes back to sleeping longer :) mine was sleeping for a 5-6 hour stretch at around 6 weeks and now we are back to 4 and 3 or 2 last night. We are in the second leap so maybe that's why :( it's one thing when you are used to it but it sucks to go back to the shorter intervals when you have experienced the glory of 6 hours straight.
  • LO is away at Grandma's house and since I am weaning I didn't bother pumping every 3-4 hours while she was gone like I use to.  I passed OUT at 10pm and woke up at 4am sopping wet and hard as a rock. I pumped and got 3 and a half oz and I just pumped until things were nice and soft, not necessarily empty (since I am trying to dry out...).  I had decided that I was going to completely stop MOTN feedings with her on the boob and move it to only bottling but with how engorged I got by missing that 3am feeding I am starting to wonder if that's a good idea.  I'm also thinking this has to do with the fact that my last nursing was at 7pm when our usual bed time nurse happens between 9 and 11... I went 9 hours between emptying the breasts....  I want to do this gradually so it's less painful, but dang my boobs piss me off... I can fill the baby up to full in the mornings, but once it's after 2pm suddenly I don't produce enough for her to eat to full and she screams after she pulls off the breast until she gets a bottle.  I wish they would just be consistently empty instead of fine in the mornings, and awful in the afternoons and evenings.

  • Second night in a row LOs got up at 2 am & stayed up until ( yesterday was 5:30ish, looks like tonight will be too ) DS just had major blow out , had to cut on the light. & I have to wake 15 yr old & SO @ 6am for school & work & medicine because if I don't do it they won't effin get up or take meds ,
  • Even though DH has been working out of state and we haven't DTD since LO was born, I just woke up from a BFP dream. How truly terrifying.
