Faaaahk. Gave lo a bite of my egg yolk this morning. Apparently some white was on there because she swelled up like a blimp. We're at the pedi now, she has a severe egg allergy. Feeling like mother of the year.
You needed to find out some how. You're not a bad mother.
@allyandmike24 that must be scary! It's good you know, though, and you would've had to find out somehow. At least she had the reaction with you and not while in daycare, with a relative, etc.

So, I asked earlier this week about diarrhea. Since Monday, I have changed exactly one diaper that was not poopy. Usually about one a day with normal consistency, then the rest get small, watery, mucosy, and/or green. Time to call the ped?

I would. If there are no other symptoms its probably food related in some way but if there are 6-8 loose stools a day LO will get dehydrated.
And since I'm not all doom and gloom, here's a pic of my asshole dog after he ate half a pound cake I left on the counter, and my kids at library storytime.
Airedale or Lakeland terrier?
Airedale. :-) retired Champion.

I realize I've become an adult when I asked for a new faucet for the kitchen sink for Christmas. I really want a new washer/dryer and dishwasher but I can't justify dropping that kind of cash since they all still work.
@snowbound None of my friends are in serious relationships and my brother is still in college so LO isn't getting a non-sibling buddy until she's at least 5yr old, probably closer to 7-10yr old. I feel bad for her. My cousins and I are all within 4 years of each other and it was great growing up.
Called the doc and she just wants us to keep monitoring until the diarrhea has persisted for 14 days (or if other symptoms appear). Reassured that I've been doing the right thing, anyway.
No more Zofran, nauseous as fuck today, cold has turned in a sinus infection, and now I have to drag DS and I out to get my refill so I can function. Boo.
the funerals have been had for the 3 people that i know that passed in the last week
DH's dad is still in the hospital (over a week now) and had another surgery yesterday .
DD has a constantly runny nose except when she is sleeping and it dries, then she wakes up and whistles through her nose but screams bloody murder when i try to clean it
stressing so hard about money for the first time in forever. we had just gotten caught up but because dh had to take so much time off work because of his dad, money is super tight. we are supposed to go out of tiwn for thanksgiving. i cant skip it because we are seeing my grandparents who pay for my car. but with dh taking a week off, ugh......... vent rant rant.
DH wants to buy DS his first "real" shoes for Christmas. DS has been pulling up for a week now, and is an early April baby. I feel like he probably won't be walking well enough by then. What say you, experienced moms?
Oh yeah my husband cycles through things. To get a ps4 he had to sell his gaming pc. New games can't come till the ones he doesn't play go, but he set these rules for himself

DD1 walked at 9 months. It's possible your guy could be running by April.
Yesss but will he be walking well enough by Christmas to get him fitted for shoes?
DH has begged for a ps4, so it's going to be a gift from us to us.
OMG, my husband won't shut up about about buying a PS4. So tired of hearing him ask, but $400 is a lot of money, especially when games are $50-60 each.
Dh has a PS4 but wants an Xbox1. Um No. You have a 360, a PS4 and a computer. PS4 was his christmas last year. that was pre baby. no super expensive presents this year
Watching Good Will Hunting for the first time and thinking of all the Boston ladies. Hehe
That is exactly what we sound like. I often just yell "DO YOU LIKE APPLES?" at strangers. I also can recite Ben Affleck's monologue from the end pretty much verbatim.
DH is obsessed with LO wearing shoes - she has a few pairs. I rarely put them on her because she's a baby and can't walk, but I have to admit they're pretty cute.
Yeah, I am anti-shoes for non-walkers. DS has worn shoes once for our fancy schmancy pictures. But the walking is going to happen sooner than I thought!
So Chase locked us in Carlene's bedroom this morning. The lock on that door is supposed to be opened with a key (or butter knife). After a couple of minutes, I managed to get the door unlocked. I grabbed Carlene and went into the living room to feed her, telling Chase not to lock the door again. Then I hear a "click" and a moment later "Mom, I need help."
Yep, he locked himself in.
That door does not have a way of unlocking it from the outside.
So I stopped nursing and had to take the doorknob off the door to let him out.
DH is going to be picking up a new doorknob on his way home from work today.

@twirple ooh so naughty!!! Don't you just love toddlers? It's like they're programmed to seek the worst case scenario. They're like human raccoons and the world is their trash barrel.
Thanks for the kind words, mamas. You all made me teary while waiting in the pediatrician's office. We did a blood draw to test for other allergies, hoping it's nothing to worry about. We're loaded up with an epi-pen and allergy labels in the mean time.
The funny part about this is, DH LOATHES eggs. When I told him what had happened, after confirming that Willa is alive and well, he was like SEE?! Eggs are evil!!!"
@allyandmike24 DS swelled up like a balloon the first time we gave him peanut butter. We have an epi-pen now, which he has never had to use. Don't feel bad, these things happen. Glad to hear that she is doing better.

The peanut thing is too scary for us.. We keep threatening to try peanut butter and then chicken out. Eggs he's cool with though. He just would prefer we feed them to him than grab them like his puffs.
Also, AWing the boys.. Daddy took Sullivan for a walk so I could get some work done on my presentation for this Wednesday's contest finale, and called to face time me that they had found some swings and he didn't want me to miss it. Major husband points today, dude. Look at that happy little face!
@jessiealbin What an awesome DH! I meant to wish you good luck on the contest- how exciting!!!
@dani+california that is so shitty re: ornaments. LO did an arm sweep at our BFF's soft open for his new restaurant (that he insisted we bring LO to when we really should not have- it's fancy schmancy!) and broke approximately 8 glasses. It was fun.
I'm sequestered to our guest room with LO because they are stripping our kitchen counters with acetone and resealing, and the walk in closet in the master has been ripped out to repair a shower leak. My whole house is a disaster area including my relocated wardrobe.
@Dani California, that is kind of funny. I didn't think most stores enforced a "you break it you buy it" policy. My niece was messing around with an oversized magnet in a pawn shop and broke a TV by getting it too close. The owner just said to GTFO, but didn't charge them. I almost took out a case of wine with LO in the carrier at the grocery store the other day. Steering a shopping card one handed is inadvisable because I have yet to experience a cart that doesn't have at least on contrarian wheel.
Are your countertops granite or marble? That sounds like a big job! We have quartz so I don't think (I hope not!) we have to do that. I should probably look into that, lol
Oh, no, they're poured concrete. You have to reseal them almost every year which is annoying. They weren't sealed properly the first time and of course concrete is naturally porous otherwise. I love them in our bathroom (floors and showers) but I'm finding it's less than ideal in a kitchen. They are super high maintenence-ugh-but I love the look. I don't know what else would look good instead without redoing the entire kitchen, which is NOT happening. Sigh.
Granite is more resilliant, and I think quartz is one of the most nonporous materials. Marble is high maintanance. MIL has marble and if someone leaves a Snapple bottle or any acidic beverage on it it eats a ring in the finish.
Hope my buddy's exchange gift isn't broken. Just watched the postman throw it to the front door. Because it clearly wasn't marked as maybe being fragile?

there i feel better
He does usually buy one game at a time, and trades them in for credit before he gets any new ones which helps the cost.
I'm rationalizing. But we are going to Disneyland for my birthday so he gets spoiled for Christmas this year.

Bitches be nasty.
The kitchen pics are no longer on my camera roll, but here are two of the bathrooms. The master bath is white concrete, but I like the variation of tones in the grey. ETA-kitchen pic in this thread: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12418773/homespiration-share-your-home-decor/p1
Are you making fun of me for posting a pic with my toilet in it? I'm embarrassed now so I deleted it.
