I feel like crap. A new hire at my job came to work with a disgusting cold and now I have it. I'm just praying Dylan doesn't catch it. I wanna choke his father because I have not gotten a break from this baby today. All I want is a nap.
@deidremaria we're in the same boat. My boyfriend is currently a SAHD as well so when I'm home babies all mine which is fine buttt I have a cold I miss all day couch days.

@jessimax I love your children's names! Just curious: do people here (Quebec) have issues pronouncing them sometimes? We deliberately chose names we liked and thought both sides of the family would have no issues pronouncing, but my MIL still has issues saying Xander (nickname for my son, Alexander). The -er ending as opposed to -re stumps her all the time.
Thanks! Yah most people look at me like I named my kids apple and blanket. Finnegan gets changed to sinnagin for some reason, Aislyn isn't too bad (tends to come out more like AZE then ACE Lyn.) There were a few names we liked in English that we didn't like in french (like Madeline) so in the end we just decided to honour our irish roots. DH's last name is badly butchered in french so we just went all in lol.
Paging RTT knitters!!! (I can't think of who all you are to actually page you). @reddawnsrevenge ? @macgrs ? Who else???
Anyway...do you have a suggestion for a great gift for my SIL who is a very avid sewer/knitter?? Should I just get her a GC to the schmancy yarn store in town? Is there some magical website that I should look into? Should I just buy her a sheep and a spinning wheel?

Thanks <333
Well a GC would be nice. Not all sheep are equal however. Different sheep for different needs you know. JK. My mom got my a book called WOOL last Xmas, and I had no idea I was using wool all wrong. :-?? Or you could find a pattern book or a subscription to a knot/sewing magazine such a Vogue Knitting or Knit Simple.
Hello everyone and hugs all around. I'm just catching up and it sounds like a rough day for some.
DS is officially crawling. He's very deliberate about it still, but he's getting better. Also, he pulled himself to standing while holding my shoulder (I was sitting on the floor with him). No, baby. Take your time, please!!
Those are great ideas, thanks RDR! Would you use something like this yarn bowl or is it one of those individual preference things? I'm not a knitter, obviously.
@allyandmike24 knitting bowls are nice. I don't have one so I can't speak as to how useful they are. Might not be the best idea if she has small kids in the house that might break it.
Popping in to say hi RTT! I took the longest social media break, and we moved, which was super stressful. We also celebrated DD1's 4th birthday, in which I cried for an hour the morning of, and DD2 started crawling!
Blah, Mondays. Not ready for the work week to start again. On the plus side it's DH's day off so he can help with DD in the morning. And he let me sleep in this morning and nap this afternoon while he and DD had some bonding time. I love weekends! Now to set out everything for tomorrow and hope my tub drinking buzz wears off in time for me to pump before bed

Right as I got in bed, the sprinklers started and G started screaming. I hate sprinklers! 3Rd time in a row this has happened. DH might just have to live with dead grass
Almost wife fail. Realized this afternoon that I never bought DH anything for his birthday. He made a comment to our son wondering what Evan "bought" for him and I realized that I didn't even think of doing anything cute from our little boy. I've just been so tired, I put no effort into his birthday.
Mustered a last bit of energy to go to Bevmo and buy a fancy bottle of bourbon that DH has been eyeing. Hopefully that wins me enough wife points so that I can somewhat coast through the other birthday stuff.
Baby needs to start sleeping more - I swear this is worse than when he was a newborn. At least then, I wasn't expected to actually function like a normal person.

To dream feed or not to dream feed? Edolie usually eats around 9:30-10, but she ate at 8 (2.25 hours ago) and has been asleep for about 45 minutes. She usually wakes up around 1:30 to eat.
@Teresa1896 I saw you're coming to Texas for vacay. Where abouts will you be?

DH and I went on a walk tonight, we walked for about two hours and DS slept the whole time. When we got back to the house I grabbed DS and started to nurse him so that we could just last him down and go to bed. Well, as I was laying him in his crib, DH in our room with the door open sneezed the loudest man sneeze I've ever heard and woke DS up. I then get him to be all sleepy again and DH walking down the hall sneeze again. DS is now looking around all awake and such. I lay in bed to try and get him to fall back asleep and DH jumps in bed fully waking DS. I left DS in the bed and walked out of the room.
@Shelbysteffens That sucks! My husband sneezes like that, too. It's like he's having a contest with himself for loudest sneeze ever. Sounds like you've done your share. His turn!
Hi ladies! Hugs to all the ladies who seem to have had a craptastic weekend, hope your weeks are awesome to help make up for it.
Life is pretty good now that we've got Shea back to sleeping when he should. I guess it was just too stimulating to have such an exciting house guest a couple weeks ago.
This weekend we went to a banquet where my 17 yr old brother got prizes for coming in 1st as a beginner 4wheeler racer and 2nd in his age group class, got to visit and play with a 10month old new best bud, and saw both my brother's and my sister's hockey games last night. Hectic but awesome!
Both boys woke up at 6 this morning, DH has a long weekend for Veterans Day, so we decided why not load up and go to Legoland? I love living in FL where this is an option!
Aubree is throwing a total fit because I'm trying to get her dressed. 7.5 months old and laying on the floor, kicking, screaming, and throwing her arms around, half dressed.
We have to go back to Minnesota for my uncles funeral and the weather is snowing and a high of 17. Low of -3. They don't even sell clothing warm enough for my child here in California! I forgot how brutal winters can be there... All you northern mamas get my pity. I can't even imagine dealing with that daily.
@LuckySquare I'm sorry you're dealing with a party animal! I have nothing to say that would fix it but is there any way you can find time for yourself soon? A little breather might make it somewhat tolerable. Hope it starts getting better soon.
@joytomylifex Sorry for your loss...and our terrible Northern weather. Brrrr
Thank you! My MIL is taking my toddler for a few days at the end of the week, and would take the girl, too, but she's EBF and won't take a bottle. But one less kid for a tiny bit, so woot!
And I have a play date with Christinanoelle tomorrow afternoon, so I have that to look forward to, as well. LOL, just hope I can stay awake. Super excited!
Go the fuck to sleep is my mantra with this child and Samuel L. Jackson is the perfect narrator.
She thought it was play time from 2:30-5 last night. I just can't anymore. Terrible sleeper from birth. I have zero patience and feel like a crap mom for telling her 7 month old to shut the fuck up. I wish we had a third bedroom we could put her in instead of our room. No way will I put her in my toddler's room at this point.
Urgh I am right there with you. I propose a mommy only spa day rather than a play date.
I'm going to lose my mind and run away forever!!!! ( Edolie woke up 2 hours ago, and my husband and I have been tag teaming ever since. She mostly wants me, and she's so tired but won't go to sleep! I can't take this anymore! Once she finally does fall asleep, she'll

DS has slept in twice until 9:30 or 10. It's always on the mornings that I wake up early. Normal days he wakes up at 8, today for the first time ever we all didn't wake up until 9 am. It only took 6.5 months but we finally got really great sleep.
@edoliesmom Lovetitting in solidarity. My formerly great sleeper has not been a good sleeper since she got sick a few weeks ago, then we moved her nursery, Oy!
Help @ashleypixie and other ladies who know hair. I'm sick of the ponytail. It is not professional for work, but my hair is thick and not cute wavy and I have fuzzies growing back in where I had bald spots post baby. I usually have to dry then straighten and no one has time for that these days. Any recommendations for cuts or easy/quick styles?

I'm mad they took Aaron out and put Flynn in. I need all the Rodgers I can get when they are actually showing a game here...
I'm so angry I can't see straight.
