So I'm home from my appointment. Baby didn't move much during the NST. His heart rate lingered between 115 and the low 120's most of the time. When he DID move, it would shoot up into the 150-160s then drop way back down to 115-118. NP came in and said "because I'm anal, I want you to come back on Friday for another NST". I also got yelled at because I hadn't eaten anything since about 1-2pm. They said that's probably why he wasn't moving much. At the same time, my mom was in my car not feeling well. Her sugar was high (she has diabetes), her heart was racing, and she felt so bad that she left during the sono which scared me because she never passes up a chance to see her grandson. So, when the NP came in, I couldn't even think of any questions to ask. All I could think about was my mom.
So I'm gonna ask here...if I go back on Friday and his heart rate is low again and his movements are minimal, what do you all think will happen? What could be causing this aside from my lack of food for a few hours?
And now... one piece of pizza down, and that's all I can handle. I don't want anymore. It smells gross, and I am full. Except, a bowl of Count Chocula cereal sounds a-ma-zing right now.
@bethas - OMG Count Chocula sounds sooo good right now. WTF? I haven't had that since... I don't even know. Trying to decide if waddling through the grocery store on my way home from work is worth it.... ugh....decisions!

WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?!?! I really really really want it now, but there's no one to watch the kids and I am NOT taking all 3 of them to the grocery store this late. @absolutelymaybe you have to bring me some if you stop.

I'm sorry you had a rough appointment!
I also get NST weekly. If they aren't able to see the kind of activity they need, they will send you to L&D for more detailed and a longer period of time for monitoring.
Be sure to eat next time and bring some juice for the appointment if you need to get LO moving. Good luck!
I feel like most of you guys are on eastern time zones! I can't keep up
I am so done being pregnant. This is going to be the longest few weeks ever. I'm so, so tired and everything hurts! We went to the mall today to walk around and I feel like death.
@longislandmama1114 - I've only had one NST, but that was happening to my Baby B (my boy). We actually had a hard time even getting a heart rate on him because he (I'm assuming) was turning away. His was in the low 120s and he was just very inactive. During the times he would turn (which I barely felt), his heart rate would increase and then shoot back down (or we'd lose it completely). My doctors weren't concerned about me, however. They just said he was probably having a lazy day. I know it's hard, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sounds like your doctor is just very thorough. Not sure what to tell you to expect at your next, though.

@LongIslandMama1114 I'm sorry your appointment didn't go well ((hugs)). And I'm sorry your mom left feeling sick, that can't have helped our stress level. Hopefully all is fine at your next appointment on Friday. Two weeks ago LO failed his ultrasound on a Friday due to not enough movement. I had to go back in the next day and he passed with flying colours. They said lazy days are common. Try not to worry too much.
My cousin had her baby today and once again I'm amazed by her name choice. All three of her kids have names that would be crucified on most internet forums.
I'm also super relieved she went right on time because both my Uncle and father can't be away from the family business and this way there won't be a fight as to who is leaving to be with their daughter.
@bethas I didn't know they still made Count Chocula! Must find some tomorrow
Seeing DH so cozy / fast asleep in bed is making me stabby. I swear I've tried every sleeping arrangement possible. Bed w/ a million pillows, the couch, recliner, Unisom... no luck. Tonight I've resorted to trying the dreaded air mattress. It's already deflating, and I literally have to do a barrel roll to get out of it... keeping it classy ">
I haven't had a chance to catch up but wanted to stop in and say I miss all my harpie peeshes! I'll be back as soon as we leave the hospital. We've had about 15,893 visitors in the past 24 hours. I'm about to post her birth story too!!
Love to all those who need it, prayers to those that need prayers, happy delivery thoughts to everyone in L&D right now!!
@AnnieRoo13 apparently Ona is a family name but my father and grandmother disagree on her role in the family. Ila is the next and Orson is the third and newest member. She calls them often by first and middle. Ona Lea, Ila Florence and Orson Birch.
There were lots of discussions as to what 3 letter vowel boy names she would come up with (our top choices by my side were Eli, Abe, and Ugo) clearly we were all wrong. I'm glad she's happy with her choices but the teacher in me shakes my head.
WOW so much has happened the last 2 days! I started the Random thread because I was up all night cleaning my room (thanks to those who shouted me out). I have 3 big bags of clothes to give away, a bag of shoes and a bag of purses and a tall stack of empty shoe boxes! Yay for purging! But then I was only able to read the first 3 pages and I haven't read any of this thread hope to catch up tomorrow!
I had such a great day, which is why I was so behind on yesterday's randoms. "Working from home" consisted of taking DD to her class, then the park, then family day at the pumpkin patch! Have you ever had an apple cider doughnut!?! YUM!!
And today I took her to her gym class and the pet store (poor man's aquarium field trip) and I bought a bunch of frozen meals from Costco along with the usual slew of "stuff I need"! Why is it you go into Costco thinking ok this will probably be like 200 worth of stuff and walk out with 500 worth of stuff?? Well at least I don't have to go back for a very long time!
Okay I'm desperate now. Any suggestions on how to relieve gas buildup? I'm dying over here :-( I even got on my hands and knees and stuck my butt in the air like my MIL suggested and nothing.
Painful gas is such a bitch. Ugh. I feel your pain. Have you tried laying on your back and try to bring your knee (leave the other leg straight out on floor) to your chest and squeeze then switch legs. It's a yoga position and it's great for clearing gas pains. You also do that to babies suffering from gas pain. With the bump in the way, I am not even sure if that's possible but worth a try?
@kyliedaniellexx - the living arrangements all sound super stressful!
I'm amazed that there can be people moving in and out and switching of bedrooms like that if your FI's mom is a foster parent! Our state has so many regulations, background checks and hoops to jump through; it would take months to get something like that approved. That's one thing I don't miss about being licensed, all the regulations.
@clarasmomma I sincerely hope you get some relief soon!! You said you tried getting on your hands and knees with your bum in the air but did you try rocking forward and backward? That always helps me out
I seem to remember someone saying something about gas pain in the shoulder after surgery. I had that in my shoulder after my gallbladder surgery and I couldn't tell what was worse, the clip that burst inside because of gallstones they missed or that gas pain. Seriously, it was so freaking bad. Good news though, you're taking so many pain killers for the CS that it helps with the gas pain in the shoulder. If it gets really bad, I found that a heating pad helped tremendously. Also, when you have your CS, walk. A lot. Get up and walk every chance you get. Not only will you heal faster but the gas will work itself out much faster.
@runningmama14 it has been a bit of a nightmare. Especially since she is in the middle of switching agencies because of a ton of shit she went through with her last placement. We all had to submit our info to the board and get fingerprints done, it's still TBD if we have to take a class of some kind... and plus, me not being American is making it all more complicated as well.
Ugggh, what a pain to deal with. Seriously, with all the crap that is required, it makes me so angry when I hear about "bad" foster homes. I wonder how on earth they managed to get past steps 1 through 287,653 of the process.
@Lilwatz & @absolutelymaybe - thank you so much!!
@wildflower75 I'm doing well, just been getting pumped with Iv fluids. u/s this morning will determine next steps ... Either induce or go home! I'm good either way!
Ugg today sucked so bad! Woke up at 9 am and had the worst cramps. Laid there and tried to get up for 20 minutes while crying on and off as my dog watched me worried. Finally got to my MILs room and she saw me and said.. yup we are going to the hospital. Cramps got worse and worse. Got to the hospital and was hooked to a monitor and after 45 minutes I had zero contractions but threw up twice. So...why the hell did I feel like shit? They didn't know.. Sent me home. Stayed home an hour and then decided to go to my OB. After waiting to be seen for 2 hours of pain and tears in the waiting room I was told I was going to have a cervical check. Got my pants off and laid down..doctor came in and told me it's most likley just a gas buildup. She said she wouldn't check me because she was worried about starting labor. So. .came home and took some of LOs gas relief drops. Took a 10 minute nap woke up and the pain was back. Took another dose of gas relief drops and then threw up. Now I'm sitting here starving because I haven't eaten all day since my cramps are so bad and I feel nauseous on and off. I don't think anyone has ever wished to fart as much as I am lol. Was totally ready to have my baby girl today but just gas bubbles.
This might be weird advise but curl get on your knees with your chest on the floor, with your bum in the air. Sense gas rises this usually helps to let it pass easier and less painfully!!! Feel better soon!
