So when my dd was about 6 weeks old I read the baby whisperer and I followed her advice about shush/patting to put dd down for sleep. So now dd goes to sleep when I lie her down to sleep, I don't have to rock her or anything, I simply wrap her in her swaddleme, put her down and give her the paci and she falls right asleep. I feel so guilty about this. I feel like I should be giving her so many cuddles but she just doesn't really care for them that much when it is time to sleep. Am I crazy for feeling guilty about this?

I know how you feel DS goes down with just a paci and a kiss goodnight and hes good to go. Even if he's awake he will fall asleep on his own if I put him in his crib. I felt guilty about the no cuddles at first but once you get used to it that goes away. It's really nice, especially during the day at nap time where I can now get homework and stuff done that I need too. When he's up we play and cuddle to make up for it

We've got a shit ton of other things we feel guilty about, don't let this be one of them. Be relieved and proud!

@darkangel42 which company do you do transcription for?

I don't recommend them at this point in time though, it's easy enough and the money is good but I'm currently trying to find out why I haven't been paid again. Last time it was 5 days late, this time 3 so far but no-one has answered my messages yet this time around.
@darkangel42 yikes that is annoying, especially if you're getting paid for work you did two months ago!

@shortstack930 They've apparently switched systems so it took a while to get set up. Payment is every 2 weeks on a Thursday but last time was late for a few people, turned up on Monday and this time is late again with no explanation yet although they did send out a group email Thursday afternoon asking to let them know if anyone wasn't paid. The first few came in on time and were right but this is really aggravating since I've got some medical expenses to pay for and delays are really unhelpful!
Other than that, they've been ok, work coming in every week or every 2 and one 3-week break between projects at one point while they set up for a new task. I suppose if it's for pocket-money rather than to live on, it's good but I wouldn't suggest it if you'd be relying on getting paid on time.
I have an interview for an actual out of the house job today so hopefully I get that and can have regular money coming in with the transcription work as a bonus that appears when it feels like it!
Minimum commitment is 55 sets of phrases a week so 2750 short phrases. Pay per set has varied between $2 and $3.50, not bad if you type fast.
@darkangel42 that doesn't sound too bad. We're moving in a few months to a different state so I was hoping I could work a few days a month at a hospital doing what I do now and then try to find some sort of work from home thing so that I could be home most of the time with DD, so this might be a good solution.

The actual job itself is not that hard, pay can be good if you're fast and the from-home aspect is great, moreso if you can work without setting a minimum commitment so you can drop off if you become busy. My OH found me this job on craigslist and someone posted another place in the last couple of pages (I want to say it was rev.com but probably worth double-checking).

DH has been practicing putting dd to bed for when I'm gone this week. It's going ok, but she's having trouble getting used to it. I thought I would feel all smug if it was hard for him, but i just feel sad for him and a little terrified for my trip.
He's a really great dad - i wish it could be seamless...but he's just not me. Meaning the mom - I've been putting her to bed her whole life (I've got the milk-boobs), and it's a hard adjustment because he doesn't have a routine, and he's kind of clunky about it...ugh. I wish this could be easier.
He'll get there. This trip will be good for everyone.

@litera it is carter's but it's not quite that. It's soooooo similar though! Max and Brom would be the cutest little halloween twins lol. Squeeee!!! The mane is more rectangular.
Thanks @ghostof5letters - that's what I keep reminding myself. It will all be fine once we're on the other side of it on friday!
I'm leaving Thursday through Tuesday and dreading it. No matter how often you do it, it still sucks. It doesn't help that I'll be in a cruddy location with no coworkers.

That is so scary. I am glad everything is ok. That's happened to F before and it turned out to be related to reflux. Is that something your LO has been checked for?
I finally had a day off yesterday and after a long work week and getting up with DS more thanks to the lovely 12 week wonder week and growth spurt, I went to bed last night when he did.
Guyyssss I'm ganna cry.. I just noticed G's teeth are coming in. LIKE YOU CAN SEE THEM!
Stop growing so fast!
Wowzer! L has been screaming all day. Maybe I should check his gums!!
He's been drooling a ton the past 2 days and yesterday he was pretty fussy during the day which he usually only is a little at night. I just thought for the hell of it why not check and went OMG!
His front bottom two you can see the indents where they are starting to cut through and you can just start to see them and his left bottom canine theres a little white dot and you can actually feel it.. wtf kid you're not even 3 months old yet, you're getting too big so fast!
So my birthday is tomorrow and my best friend was due 10/9. I told her he wasn't coming till my birthday when her EDD came and went. Well she is being induced tonight at 7! Sharing your birthday with your best friends first child is the best bday present EVER!! I'm so excited and emotional!
