Re: Random thread- for all things random.

  • Last appointment my OB was telling me how fertile I am and after all the work we went through to have the baby (IVF), that I should just try for another right away and get it over with. HUH. no thanks.

Well, I call the office today for a script for my birth control and the nurse calls me back and says no problem...THEN I get another phone call from my OB trying to convince me not to go on BC and to try for another because I am so fertile.

    1. I honestly don't think being so fertile after pregnancy applies to women who went through IVF, especially with PCOS and a blocked tube.

    2. Is my OB planning on paying for this second kid?

Just give me my BC and leave me be, kthanksbye.

  • Just had a holy shit moment reading that pregnancy announcement.  Pretty sure we're going to have another one over here and I can't wait to be pregnant again (one day), but holy shit reading that scared me.  Our LOs can't be old enough now for us to get pregnant already.
That post made my uterus quiver with fear.
Not me...it made me ache desperately to be pregnant again. Stupid finances...we'll have to wait another few years :0(

FFWC: I want a new kitchen a whole lot more than I want a new baby right now.

Is it bad that I want a whole new house...and a puppy before even the thought of a baby?
  • Thank you jessafish!
  • @‌Jensavicci

Crap! Thought I was doing good. I'll do it now.
  • I bought LO his own set of Harry Potter books... what age should I start reading chapters as bedtime stories? lol I don't want to wait as long as I know I should.
You could start now. I mean LO won't remember, so you'll get the fun of re-reading and no one will know any difference
    :D
  • And another...guuuyyyyys. I got this gigantor, blood-sucking 15 page paper done about public policy. I feel like I need to celebrate or something...instead I'm heading to school for a 4 hour class

    L-)
  • I have a caramel apple crumble in the oven. I want to eat it but it's not cooked and when it is cooked, it will be too hot :(
    Such a first world problem

  • I just dyed my hair red.. :D not sure how I feel about it!

    I wanna see!!!
  • @pintsizemama15‌ I started reading the first HP book to DD a few weeks ago. I'm sure she doesn't understand any of it but she loves hearing my voice. I'll reread it to her when she can understand and enjoy it more, probably when she's around 8 or 9.

WTAF? How on earth can your OB tell you are just "so fertile"?

No clue lol, i'm guessing she has an in with the fertility gods?

I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of this statue in her office, with a shrine surrounding it.

I've heard that women are often extra fertile after giving birth but I don't know that I've ever seen any research that backs it up. Anecdotally, I do know more than one couple that struggled with fertility for years, did IVF, and then got pregnant again quickly and unexpectedly. So maybe she senses some fertile aura coming from you. ;)

Cute @sharmon1317‌ ! Just FYI red is the color most likely to come out with washing. So - use dark colored towels and don't go to bed with wet hair for at least a week. Also, those shampoos for dyed hair do make a difference. (Clearly I've learned things the hard way).
Whatever you do, don't use head and shoulders! It strips colour or something and turns your hair a sort of diluted, not pretty version of what you dyed it. <- also learned the hard way
  • What the fuck happened last night!? The one time I get bored enough with TB to not scroll/refresh all evening and I wake up to a train wreck!?
  • Not sure if I am the last person to know about this but there is an app that you can gif in text messages. It is called popkey and it is amazing.

That's our payback for you having a baby that sleep through the night. You snooze you lose.

  • @tundrabunny, yes!! I always lift up my shirt to feed or pump, and I know I'm going to forget to pull it down one of these days.  My coworkers are certainly going to appreciate that. :(

  • @Lucanjo14‌ yes!! DD always poops in the bouncer! Do you keep it with the vibrate on? I think it relaxes her enough to poop!

  • So to add to the confusion of the day, I also decided it was time to figure out the changing of the username.

What was your old name? I can't keep up with these screen name changes...

    Stuck in grey box hell...

I'm too lazy to post that many more times. All I can say is, they either a) have a ton more ppl, b) post almost everything there and shoot down ppl that create other threads, or c) bitch a lot.

  • My dog died today. I've had him since I was 10. He was from a puppy mill, and the last one taken in his litter - very asthmatic, a glutton, and lazy.. but still sad that he's gone. He's been there for the majority of my life! He hadn't been doing well the last couple of days, and today looked worse. We gave him a cushy bed on the back porch in the shade (today's weather is beautiful), and he passed peacefully.

    RIP Schatzi!
  • Sorry to hear that @squnkie. It is hard to lose a pet, especially ones we grow up with! Thinking of you. Have you read the rainbow bridge? I found that helpful when one of my dogs died a couple of years ago.
  • I'm sorry squnkie.

  • So sorry, @squnkie‌...pets are family too, and losing one is hard.
