How many kisses are too many kisses?? I am addicted to kissing LO's sweet head. I imagine she gets kisses to the tune of 500 a day...and that doesn't include the grandparents! ">
You and me both! I love to munch on his ears!
Munching on her ears makes her giggle for days! So it must be done over and over... ;;)
DS does this when I kiss his cheeks or tummy. So it is done pretty much all day long.
Can't believe how big dd has gotten, compared her newborn onsie she wore at the hospital to her onsies now, crazy how much of a differance it is:-/. But I did just get a nice 45 min nap with dd and loved all the cuddles :-)
I'm stressing about this big fancy wedding we have to go to. Thanks to you all and the many traveling with baby discussions I'm felling pretty confident about that part.
We've not been explicitly told to not bring the baby. Generally I'd assume if her name isn't on the invitation she's not invited, but it's a family wedding and it's known and assumed by the rest of the family that we're at least travelling with her. We can't not take her with us for many reasons anyway, so at this point it's more a question of me not attending if she's not welcome. We've heard telephone-like rumors that someone on the bride's side is bringing an older kid (toddler? who knows) and needs to be told to not bring said child or a sitter may be hired. Not sure if that's a passive aggressive way of letting us know baby isn't welcome. DH has eleventybillion groomsmen things to attend and I'm picturing myself in a hotel room with a baby for 3 days. Maybe even 2 babies for part of that time since SIL is also in the wedding and has a baby. DH needs to have a conversation with the groom but I think he'd rather just not know so I can just show up with her at the reception. Rehearsal dinner is probably too late for her anyway so that's most likely a no-go for me too.
#braindump
I would definitly ask the bride and groom what their preference is and make arrangements based on that - I had a no kids wedding because I've been to weddings where babies/kids are just obnoxious and loud and sometimes you want an adult affair.

@comicsans - is there an teenage cousin or someone (read: trusted family member/friend) who would be willing to make some extra cash and sit in your hotel room with sleeping baby while you and DH have a night off?

I'm tired and up pumping at the moment, but I read the thread about bathing kids together....I still don't understand how a 6 mo old could get pregnant, I'm more awake now than when I first read it, and seriously don't get it....

It was a joke.

I just saw an episode of house hunters where the couple was complaining the townhouse they were looking at did not have granite countertops. It's $130k, what do you expect! Do you know what you can buy here (in Boston) for $130k?? A parking spot (I wish I was joking but I'm not)!!!

@THD7580 oh I'm having sympathy pangs. So sorry you're having baby-withdrawal. Hope you can get some snuggles soon. And feel better soon too.
Makes my RT feel kind of trite, but anyhoo: I desperately have to pee but DD was having a fit and needed to eat that.second. So here I am with her on my lap eating...the things we do for our babes.
@lica001, do you live in Boston? I grew up in Sudbury.
Yes @Lissiehoya in Beacon Hill. But we have to move before DD1 starts school since there are no schools in the downtown neighborhoods. We can't figure out where to though. My friend is in St Louis and I'm very jealous of the beautiful townhouse they bought for $250k, it would easily be 2.5mio here, it's depressing!

Sometimes I put a kid show on for DD but she never seems to have any interest in watching it. Yet when DH comes home and puts on the ball game (MLB or NFL) she's enthralled.
DH dressed DD1 this morning. Her sweater looked tiny, so I asked DH if it was 18m or 2T, because I thought we might have to go up to 3T soon. He didn't know. I checked. It was 9m, yup he dressed her in DD2's sweater!!!

People who don't stick to the DD, DS, DH convention annoy me. How am I suppose to decipher who you're talking about when I lurk on other boards if you use initials?

This is how I "cleaned" my bathroom yesterday, and only bc my MIL is coming over today: - wiped down the sink/counter with a baby wipe. - gave DS a bath, then used the washcloth to wipe down the tub and toilet. - picked up and threw away the tumbleweeds of hair as they floated by my feet. I'll hit it with some Clorox soon, just didn't have time since I had to work this weekend.

Thats more than my hubby does. I didn't realize it till today but he has never cleaned the toilets with cleaning stuff. He would just take the scrub brush and scrub the inside of it with the toilet water. I thought he was just lazy about cleaning all of his poop off the sides of the bowl.
I'm sort of pissed off on behalf of dH. He stays home with our children while I work and had met some of the neighboring ladies when they take their kids to play at the local park. There is a Facebook group for these ladies and one of them invited him to join. When he does, he's told he's not welcome.
I get it. It's for women only (nix that... there's one man in it). But it still pisses me off how sexist (omg my auto correct doesn't have sexist in its dictionary) it is to say that the only stay at home parents are women. It also irritates me that the only parent to work outside the home is a man.
Bitch please.
(Besides it hurts his feelings when people reject him.)
@ho11yday I'm sorry his feelings were hurt. That makes me sad. He obviously doesn't need to be around those bitchy women anyway

@ho11yday that is so lame! Our "moms" Facebook group has several stay at home dads and one of them is very active in our playgroups, etc. people are so crazy, sorry he has to deal with that!
I'm enjoying all my family bringing by food. I feel like I've won the lottery! And my very awesome DH is bbqing some tri tip and burgers right now and I'm oh so happy about that. As I'm laying here bumping I would say besides being so sore it's like a mini vacay!
No kidding, too bad it ended as fast as it started. I guess all the "oldies" ran back to the non existent Facebook group. ___________quote fail____________

Thank you all. Now I think he's more angry than upset. He responded that he was invited by another mom; we'll see where it goes.
It is hard enough being a stay at home parent; even harder when you don't think you belong (happens on both sides of the sees for various reasons) and need some outside support.
to all you sahm, working moms, and everyone somewhere on that spectrum.
