If I ever say anything bad about H remind me of today. He came home from work early, took the kids to the playground and took care of the dogs. He said he will handle dinner while I get some rest. Love him
Ragey FWP vent. Our best friends and their parents are over for dinner tonight. FIL has no fucking clue how to plan a multi-course meal (neither do I, but I don't insist on having them). We didn't even sit down to dinner until quarter of 7. We take B upstairs to start winding down and doing bedtime routine at 7 every night. When we've waited until later, he's melted down. So by 725 we've had risotto and salad, and soup is being served. MIL comes over and stands by B and starts talking to him and offering him food that I already have cooling for him, completely unaware that I actually kind of have this parenting thing down. She goes away after my repeatedly telling her to sit down. Then FIL comes over and starts talking to B. The problem here is that B thinks he's getting out of the high chair because FIL is his favorite playmate and they always play together after dinner. I tell him to go away and then we hit total meltdown. So 20 mins later, I'm still upstairs putting B to bed, haven't actually had a meal, and am missing some quality social time. I should be having a good time, damnit.
Volunteered to chaperone my son's class field trip and now I have to get ready to attend a concert I don't even want to see. Kill me now. Would it be rude to nap during the show?
B has me trained. He gets in his crib and cries. I give him a few minutes, and go pick him up. He points to changing table, I lay him down. He points to lotion, I squirt some in my hands. He raises a foot for a foot rub, I rub both his feet.
This had happened five nights in a row but he goes to sleep right after and it's AWESOME.
The past two nights after work have been coming home to clean because FIL and wife are coming in town tomorrow. i need a house cleaner and a reoccurring carpet cleaning service and I would be so much happier. Two inside dogs with one of them being a lab makes for dirt and hair everywhere!
House is clean, A is asleep and rum and coke is poured....have so been looking forward to Friday night. To all the ladies having a drink and relaxing, cheers!!!
I'll need to remember this night later. After 25 mins, DH came upstairs to take over putting Benjamin to bed and when I went back to the table, he had made a plate for me. I got to eat while everyone had dessert, and then I had dessert too.
So, here's my new million dollar idea that I would have no idea how to implement...
Why isn't there a mommy version of a fitness app? One where you could input the weight of your kid and then log all the things you do while holding/wearing/pushing them and it would calculate calories burned accordingly?
This is brought to you by the lady who hauled her 30 lb. toddler up the ladder for the slide approximately 57 times yesterday.
Benjamin doesn't really understand the intended use of pacifiers. He only uses his to chew on when he's working on a tooth (hardly ever. His 5th tooth just broke through last week), but sometimes he holds it in his mouth with his teeth. Usually after we've visited a friend who uses pacifiers.
Hey ladies! I've been reading all the words but not contributing. I've had a nasty cold the last few days and I'm still dealing with a pretty bad cough. I've also been working which has kept me busy. Next week they scheduled me for 5 days instead of my regular 4 so I'll be busy next week too!
My niece is in town this weekend so today we plan on hanging out and then later this afternoon we're going to get pictures taken of the kiddos. I also need to do some laundry today.
Tomorrow I have to work from 8-2 so that's basically my day.
I'm hoping to get caught up on my recordings this weekend. I'm so behind on all my shows!!!
Any suggestions on how to store inflatable water toys when not in use? We just blew one up and it was sooooo gross. Hoping to store it more cleanly for next time but can't think of anything
FIL and stepmother are coming to visit. Haven't seen A since her bday in June and never ask for pictures, skype etc. So we're doing lunch, showing them around new area and then home for lots of football!
I've been missing my parents and friends back home so at least its some family to see.
@WorkinIt thanks for checking in . Brantley is happy and content as he continues to bake. My shoulder is not as sore today but my poor butt cheek is all the colors of the rainbow now.
This weekend I'm taking advantage of DH being in town so I went out to breakfast with a friend (we spent four hours talking and just enjoying each other's company without a child with us -she has a two-year-old). Early evening we are going to a friend's going away party.
Tomorrow KJ and I are having breakfast with a friend and her child. DH is running an obstacle race. I'm hoping that we will be able to go to the movies together (I really want to see gone girl) and leave the baby with a babysitter sometime in the evening.
@vasc, I'm sorry she feels bad and hope she gets better. I agree with trying Tylenol. My SIL swears by rubbing benedryl on the gums. Try yogurt to soothe the throat?
@babygsmommy my hubby doesn't know I bought it either. One of the perks of having a deployed hubby, he just gets to come home and see the stuff I bought and didn't tell him about lol. Last time it was a new vacuum cleaner

eta: and my family was all still in bed when I walked in the door.
Tomorrow:
People will probably come over for the Patriots game, but those are always last minute decisions.
Monday:
DH is working. I was thinking aquarium too, @kames12, but I was worried it might be super over crowded since there's no school that day.
Today: lots of errands and stuff around the house. Dinner at the ILs and homework.
Tomorrow: no clue. Probably prep some freezer meals and finish laundry.

@wasnotwas we deflate, hang them on the porch until dry then store them in a bin.
