@CatLadyTX I went and got Wendy's last week - it was the first time I'd eaten fast food in about five years. It was both disgusting and glorious.
I have a serious addiction to Wendy's, it started with DS pregnancy, got WORSE with BF hunger when nursing DS (you think pregnancy hunger is bad, wait for BFing appetite), and it will NOT be quenched.
Their Pretzel bacon cheeseburger... with a chocolate frosty.... heaven!
Last night whiling trying to fall asleep, DH kept marveling at how huge our bed is (upgraded to a king - it is fan-freakin-tastic!). He was like "I rolled over to snuggle and you were still so far away!" He was also talking about the possibility of doing co-sleeping. Now I don't know much about it, so any of you ladies that have experience/know anything, what are your thoughts? The thought of having my newborn sleep in my bed with me scares me a bit, even though DH and I are pretty light sleepers, I'd still be terrified of something happening. We do have a rocking sleeper we were given that I planned on keeping beside the bed for the first month or so to have Peanut sleep in the same room with us. Ahh so much to think about!
We still cosleep with our 17-month-old DDs and started when they were about 4 months old. Sometimes the one daughter wouldn't sleep unless we put her in bed with us. It's understandable to feel nervous about having such a little person in the bed with you, but there are ways to ensure you do it safely and worry-free. Check out Dr. Sears' web site for tips. I think it's great you're going to have LO in the room with you from the get-go! I'm not so sure my older DDs will be in their own beds by the time this DD arrives...yikes! We plan to have a bedside bassinet or the like for her.
Does anyone have a sleep number bed. We have been in the market for a new bed for a while and now that the townhouse is sold and we are not carrying two mortgages it is time to make it happen, especially since I want some GOOD sleep for my third tri.
Any reviews, like it, hate it?
We are leaning towards the memory foam Sleep number bed with the adjustable base (that brings your head up into a recline position). PERFECT for MOTN nursing!
Ive really wanted one for years... but I know 2 people who got them (different models), and both were completely unhappy with the purchase. One was a long time friend around my age, the other is a co-worker with children my age. So to hear the same dissatisfaction from two different people in different phases of life sort of turned me off from it.
Mainly the complaints were 1) noise from the bed, 2) customer service after your purchase 3) various features not lasting very long (and then the hassle from customer service to get it taken care of)

thanks for the feedback, I have been reading reviews of them online, and the main complaints (99% of the bad reviews) are related to the bad customer service when related to delivery, and the replacement/broken parts service issues.
then all the other reviews are 5 star, LOVE IT! so it seems completely split. either LOVE or HATE
Omg my coworkers have been asking me all of the old wives tale questions the last few weeks to try to guess the sex, and today one told me that peeing on bleach is actually a really accurate way to tell.
@bhjones1980 one of the reasons I hate reviews... It usually is one extreme or the other. And then I think about myself. If I love something, I will just tell everyone I talk to. If I hate something I will go online and complain. I very rarely write a review about something that I absolutely love, and even more rare is writing a review just because.
Good luck though! Hopefully you get one, and you can tell me how it works out for you. Im in the market for a new mattress.

Ok so have any of you been able to kill a whole 12 inch sub from Subway in 1 sitting while pregnant? I just ate half along with the chips and want the other half now. Is this normal?
LOL this is exactly me at this exact moment. Normal? Who the heck knows. Spectacular? Absolutely.
I ate a whole footlong (normally I just eat a six-inch when not pregnant), a bag of Doritos, and 2 chocolate cookies in one sitting just the other night. Totally normal and spectacular.
@bhjones1980 We have one. We got it about 10 years ago and we were poor when we got it so we just got the lowest model possible - it doesn't even have numbers - just an up or down on the controls. My biggest complaint about it was when I got the mattress soft enough to where I like it, I if I was laying on my side, I ended up laying on the bed frame. It was fine when my weight was distributed evenly by laying on my back. While I was still in the 1st Tri - I got one of those 3" mattress toppers and added it - I LOVE IT NOW! DH occasionally complains that it gets a little warm in the summer, but not often. The matresses are basically a heavy duty air-mattress inside a mattress shell.
My parents have one - better model than we got, but still not sure what model- and the really like it too.
Have you tried going to a store and trying them out?
I slept on a sleep number for a weekend when I was watching someone's house and I loathed it. I don't know if I just didn't have time but I could never find a number that was remotely comfortable to me.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

Good morning/afternoon, ladies! Skimmed the replies, looks like some bad nights were had -- I'm sorry for that.
My spam: my BFF and I often have conflicting schedules and have a hard time finding time, but sometimes we try to squeeze a little morning time in to have breakfast, after I drop off my daughter at preschool and before he goes to work (he starts his day late), and we managed to make it happen today -- such a great start to the day!
He's a mega-teaser but is also super sensitive, so when I went through a period of time during this pregnancy where I was, shall we say, rather irritable, I appreciated that he really cooled it on the teasing. But today, he asked me if I was, what, about 7 months pregnant or so? And I just started cracking up, because honestly, my bump is huge these days. But I told him I was more like 5 months gone, and he fell over himself trying to apologize. Which was totally unnecessary, but truly very sweet.
He also told me that he thinks that, after being a complete commitment-phobe, he thinks he might be falling in love with his current boyfriend! Sorry for gushing, but I'm suuuuuuuuuper excited and really want this to work out -- I promise that I know that people can be very happy staying single for their whole lives, but I also have never seen him happier in his life. Plus, I love his boyfriend, so I have my fingers VERY tightly crossed that this works out for him!
(Sorry, I'm all sunshine and rainbows today, which I know can be irritating at times... I'll show myself out )

My parents have a sleep number and I call it the glorified air mattress. My dad HATES it and sleeps in another room. My mom likes it but I think it's cause she's prideful because they spent so much on it. I unfortunately don't know what model it is, but its probably about 6 years old.
It really just feels like an air mattress to me though.
So dh wants to buy the crib today! yay for overtime money!

Oh, and 2 of my girlfriends offered to host a sprinkle for me! I wasn't expecting it, but I am really excited for it. We did it for one of them last winter, so I assume it'll be the same for me- a laid-back girls night out at a local restaurant and lots of baby talk. I can't wait!
One of my friends, who is going to be hosting a shower, shared her plans with me and I am 100% against it. She wants to have a Friday night shower after the baby is born. She also wants it to be a boozy blowout party. Uhm no. My friends that she's inviting do not have children (although she does) and will not be allowed to be drunk and whiley around my newborn daghter. Am I wrong to be upset that she even would suggest that as a baby shower??? When she was pregnant I threw her a beautiful baby shower.

My spam for today (well yesterday actually but didn't get around to posting): I splurged and got Starbucks after taking DS to his toddler gym class. I got a tall green tea frap and a pumpkin cream cheese muffin. Yum. It was all totally worth the $6. Now I want to go make pumpkin muffins because I want more but I don't want to pay $3 apiece.
Today at the gym for the first time I saw stars during a workout. We had just been squatting and lunging, and then were to transition to push-ups. When I got down for push-ups I saw stars, just like the cartoons. I decided to sit up and rest until my vision cleared. Another girl in class asked, "are you ok, momma?" We had chatted before so I thought it was nice that others are making sure I'm ok when I stop during a workout. Yay for nice people.

Aww, welcome! It's glittery here! >:D<
So I have an awesome pumpkin bread recipe that I use, and the last time I tried it, I decided to put the second half into a muffin tray instead of a breadpan, and I may never go back. They were actually much better as muffins than bread! So if you're interested, here's the recipe, and the only change is that I'd probably take them out of the oven at 20-25 minutes instead of the longer time listed. My oven's weird, so I'd check yours with a toothpick or something starting maybe around 15 min, but mine took about 25 and then they were perfect. Enjoy!!
And I hear eating lots of delicious treats is a good way to cure seeing stars... um, right?

SO happy!! I just had a consult with a client to do all of her bedroom linens... Bedspread, pillows, drapery, sheers...lately I've been getting more odd jobs or just furniture selection but I love this custom stuff because there are just so many things you can do and I love fabric (hence the etsy business)!
...if it weren't for the smile one my face for the commission I would feel really guilty for the price quote.... A months worth of salary for one window is crazy, I don't care who you are.
@chickenhawke I know right?! I volunteered for One Colorado while living in Denver and have sat in a court room several times only to hear the same fate repeated... And today my FB is blowing up with love I am so THRILLED! =D>
@erobbins09 that job sounds like a really fun one! I have a close friend who is a seamstress full time and only does custom jobs. The one that I enjoyed hearing about most was when she did ALL of the drapery and what she called "garnishes" for the governor's mansion in AL!

Mom&Co are being so awesome about this whole thing. I love them to pieces... Im trying to think of really cool thank you ideas for them. I just have to find a way to do a seriously awesome thank you for the 3 of them, without my sister and other friends getting too upset or jealous. There is no way in hell I could offer the same thank you gift knowing the amount of time/energy/money is being spent on this gala.

After explaining the age range, it totally makes sense to me why this kind of shower was suggested. Most of the showers I went to when I was in my late teens/early 20s were more fun party type showers (although not really the booze fest your friend wants to have). Maybe some sort of middle ground can be met.
Still have it on a Friday, do light drinks like wine coolers, but have it pre-birth and focus more on celebrating you entering motherhood.

@erobbins09 - I love fabric, too. Apparently enough that my friend bought a shirt and later told me that one of her first thoughts was, "Hernsy is going to want to touch this." I think I have a problem. There is nothing I like more than walking through a fabric shop touching all the goodies.
@kefttsc it really is... Luckily as a designer I just come up with the vision, quote and work between the client and workroom... I have taught myself to sew and enjoy it but there is no way I could make the couture quality that I sell off to the pros it goes!

New spam: I MAY get to go to the Netherlands on a business trip in November!!! While @Jaztastic is trying to avoid the international travel, I'm wanting it to happen. I have an appointment on Thurs where I'll ask my OB if it will be ok. I'll be 28 weeks when I leave and 30 weeks on return. If anyone has any insight on whether they've heard of international travel that late, that would be welcomed! I can't remember when the doctor said they would want me to stop traveling. I hope I get to go!
I was told no traveling over 34 weeks there was no indication that it was domestic rules only. If you have a well check before you go and everything looks fine I don't foresee an issue. That being said it would absolutely suck to go into labor overseas and the late you go the more of a chance that is.

Go for the both of us!! I would be really excited about going if 1) I wasnt going to be in the 3rd tri and 2) If it wasnt a business trip. I dont want to be 7 months pregnant in another country without a support system. I just wish this was last year, I would have gone without a second thought. I mentioned before that I was okay with going to Denmark, but I wasnt really a fan of going to Thailand. I dont think the healthcare system is that great (but I have no reason to feel this way other than picturing the Thailand communities I see on tv)

So true! I never felt full while BFing DS and was constantly thirsty. I've never drank so much water in my life.
I girlfriend (not pregnant) suggested this sort of Netflix for clothing that she has been using. She said "Since your size will be changing soon, I think you should try it." I figured the first month is free and why not?
I selected my closet and apparently they will send me some outfits, then I send the box back, and then they send me more outfits. Uhhh...no laundry or dry cleaning? Yes please! I will keep you all updated on how it goes - the service is called LeTote and (after the first month) is only $49/month.
*So far, the customer service has been great, I chatted them: Hey, I am all knocked up and will continue to grow - can you notate that somewhere? And she laughed. Well played customer service lady, well played.
Oh. My. God.
I'm going to lose the rest of my afternoon browsing this. I've been itching to buy some clothes recently, but have been not pulling the trigger because I feel weird buying something that I probably won't fit into, say, six months from now (hopefully!). Thanks for the tip!

Defintely go! (as long as your pregnancy progresses as expected) I traveled at 30 weeks to Vancouver with my first pregnancy and was perfectly comfortable and safe.
We have our A/S tomorrow and I am starting to get super anxious. At our A/S with Ella DH was out of the country and they found a calcification on her heart that needed further testing and it was really tough hearing that on my own. Gah it is just stressful!!
