Also...I thought I saw in passing that today is @MaiTaiBeth 's birthday, and if so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Cake, creepy hugs, sleep unicorns and booze for you!
I got DS to take two ounces of formula tonight. This is the beginning of the transition from BF to FF. Tomorrow DD and I are going to see Frozen on Ice and DH is watching DS while we are gone. Hopefully he doesn't have a hard time!
OMG I GOT HER TO LAUGH!! Apparently me leaning over the side of the bed and bouncing is hilarious to her. Position hurts like hell, but that laugh is so damn worth it to hear!

It's crazy to me when I read about babies going to bed before 8! If baby girl went to bed that early, she'd be up for the day at like 4. @-)
Same here. She goes to bed at midnight/1:00 am and wakes up at 9am.
I thought that until DD naturally started going down at 630. / 7ish instead of 9 ish, still sleeps till 630 ish, with one or maybe two wakes during the night. Only real difference is her waking up is a bit earlier.
Angel baby June 2013, DD born 22 April 2014, BFP 10 Sept 2015 - Due 22 May 2016
We start our bedtime routine at 5:30 and he's usually asleep by 6 or 6:15. I have to wake him up at 6:30 to get him ready for daycare. 12 hours is pretty standard for a baby's sleep time, isn't it? (We are definitely not blessed with 12 hrs straight lol So there are a few wake ups, but we follow his cues and 5:30 is when he is ready for bed even though it sucks cause both DH and I work and we miss our baby.)

Had our first baby, Samuel Robert, on April 17, 2014!
Chase is sleeping by 630 almost every night if he doesn't go to sleep he's overtired and miserable.. He sleeps til 7-8 depending on the day with 3 wake ups. He always goes right back to sleep I wish I could keep him up later I only see him for an hr and a half after work
Ugh - feels like a Monday. LO was up all night rolling around and getting pissed off. We were supposed to go to a baby playgroup today so instead DD woke up with a fever so no daycare for her today.... It also means LO will barely nap since she will only nap in my arms and DD won't let THAT happen. DH will be home in 12 hours. 12 hours with two cranky teething kids. Is it too early to have a drink?
Yesterday DH and I celebrated our anniversary. 8 years!!
I made him Star Wars shaped pancakes and we played video games after the kids went to bed.
My parents are coming to town to watch the big kids (Logan will come with) so that DH and I can escape for the weekend. Looking forward to a nice hotel and a weekend away!

Well first of all you ARE doing it so give yourself some credit! It can't be easy, and I'm sure you knew that going into it but mylanta are you ever going to be proud of yourself when you look back on this time. Hang in there.
And Canadark is unseasonably warm right now so it's amazeballs! Taking advantage before I have to fashion my beaver coat for the winter months.
Heheheh beaver. I'm 12.

My LO has to be in bed by 6:30!!! or he's a hot mess. He naps for only 30 min, 3x a day and refuses to sleep at all past around 2:00 in the afternoon. He's up around 6:30 every a.m., which I don't think is too bad.
I feel like an asshole sometimes-usually LO doesn't take long to fall asleep for naps, but sometimes it takes 15 or more minutes and I feel guilty for leaving him in his crib alone. I don't want him to feel abandoned or something...ugh why does everything make me feel guilty! I never knew in the SLIGHTEST what mom guilt would be like. Now I know it's for EVERYTHING! Even if I'm folding laundry or doing dishes I feel like I should be sitting next to LO and chatting with him instead of having him on his mat alone. I still talk to him but I dunno.
I have had perpetual mom guilt for almost 6 years. It sucks. I even feel bad if I have to take a poo. Wish I could say it gets better, but really, it doesn't.

Independent time is good for kids too. I sometimes feel bad if I don't have time to do something with DS1. But I will look over at him and he'll be doing something really funny or imaginative that he came up with on his own. I let DS2 have independent time and he just scoots all over the house. It's good for them to learn on their own too!
@Dahlia414 I totally agree with independent time. Sounds like your LOs are really benefitting from it! My LO seriously loses it if he is on his own for more than 5 min, tops. Whether it's the jumparoo, exersaucer or floor time he HATES not being held constantly. I'm sure this excessive screaming is contributing to my mommy guilt. DD was exactly the same way. WHY???

My niece was this way (high needs) and it was really rough on my sister. Now she is 3 and very independent. Hopefully your LO will give you a break and enjoy playing in the future!
@swerbtastic3351 what does an eating schedule look like with the 2-3-4 naps? I think we need to move to that soon, but I'm not sure how to work out the eating part, and that's why I've been holding off...

We BF, so I just feed her when she gets pissed. :P When she's awake for longer she nurses twice before she goes back to sleep. But she also tends to eat more often than most babies too, so it's kind of a crapshoot.
I follow babies needs/cues as closely as I can. I don't set the schedule, she does. This morning she was up for more like 2.5 hours, and only ate once. She's been asleep (in the swing, I don't give that up until I absolutely have to, lol) for about 90 minutes so far and will nurse as soon as she wakes up. Then we'll see what happens, LOL!
I EP so I try my hardest to follow her cues when I'm home, but I work full time and my mom has her most of the time while I'm at work, MIL has her one day. My mom is good with cues, ILs not so much because they're always on the go and try to make DD fit their schedule/plans. I am taking a 3 day weekend this weekend so maybe I'll see if I can get something like this going!
Also, we definitely still take swing naps a few days a week!
Bed sharing to crib transfer is not going well. Naps are okay some days but last night we laid him down at 9, he woke up at 10 because of his foot getting stuck and then again at 10:45 and was unconsolable.
I'm one of those people that have been following the board since I got pregnant. I'm not really sure why I haven't participated before now, but I just wanted to tell you guys how much I enjoy the conversations! @dani+california@Vinny424 and @AprilMay9 you guys make me laugh out loud. Seriously, there are so many of you that i have learned a lot of great tricks from and have made my day a little brighter
My daughter, Caroline, was born 4-14-14. She's the cutest thing I've ever seen!
I'm just going to start posting and hope to fit in here with all of you! I'm not gonna lie, I was also tired of accidentally hitting reply and not being able to post anything :-h
Thanks for reading! I hope it formatted from mobile okay. Here's a picture of me and my sweetie, Caroline!
Woo like 4000 pages behind, but our daughters are birthday twins!
I need some makeup advice (I'm looking at you @dani+california). I have developed new mom under eye bags. They are usually hidden by my glasses but I have an event Friday and I don't plan on wearing glasses. Best way to conceal them? I have Juice Beauty concealer which is fine for day to day wear but this a fancy event so I want to look good.
@snowbound a good concealer can minimize dark circles, but bags aren't always covered well. :-/ Can you try cool compresses at night or in the morning? Cucumber slices or chilled spoons work well.
What's the difference between bags/circles? I guess I could try that. I always heard prep h works but that's weird. I'm make-up/beauty stupid.
I think my 2 year old may be rounding the corner on whatever phase he was going through. He has been so much more pleasant this week. It is so nice to have my sweet boy back, hopefully this good behavior continues! *knocks on wood* *crosses all fingers and toes*
I've heard that Prep H doesn't have that ingredient in it anymore. You should be fine with a primer and concealer and normal cover-up to even everything out. I've been sticking to lighter eyeshadows because I feel like the darker ones draw attention to the dark circle(which nobody notices except you)
It's true. you always want a concealer that is a tad bit lighter to brighten the eyes.
As if my boobs aren't taking enough punishment lately, I leaned into a pot on the stove, and I have big nast welt from the burn blister deflating. It's super sexy.
Ouch in sympathy.

I had a PTA board mtg at my DD's school at 2:00. Apparently you can't sign your kid out after 2:45, and I got to the office after the mtg at 2:47. Really? Now I have to wait in the crazy ass carpool line for 20+ min while LO cries in the back. Not happy.
