So very tired. DD didn't eat much during the day, so we are reverse cycling. Not only does she want to eat more, she thinks she should stay awake and play also. Who needs sleep??
Update for those following along with my DD's fever issues.
She had her follow up with the Rheumatologist yesterday and we finally have an answer! According to her labs she has a genetic marker for early arthritis. The doctor says that anytime her body starts to fight off any sort of inflammation she gets a fever and that fever causes her body to attack her joints. So far according to her bone scan, all her joints are healthy and she is arthritis free at the moment but he wants to see her again in 4 months unless she gets another fever or shows symptoms before that. So far she has gone 3 months with out a fever! This is the longest she has gone without one since this all started a few years ago. We will wait to start medications until either her fevers show up again or she starts showing symptoms of join pain, swelling or stiffness.

Ugh terrible night last night...although I think the problem was more my husband than the baby. He had a temper tantrum that I wouldn't take the baby to the family room to play in the middle of the night. He does that sometimes, and I hate it - I'm trying to teach the kid the night is for sleeping. He can go sleep on the damned couch if he wants!
And I'm jealous of everyone who can side lie nurse. I have to hold my boob, so I have to fold my arm under my head/side, and then it goes numb. Bah. It did calm the little guy down last night, but it was super awkward.
I have large boobs so I have a body pillow that I put behind my back to put me at an angle. So I kinda lay on the body pillow. Makes side lying so easy and my boob doesn't smother DD.
Thanks! It really is a relief. I'm sad to know that at some point she will face arthritis but I'm happy to be working with her team of doctors that will be keeping a close eye on her as she grows.

Ok stupid question.... What is the easiest way to prepare a bottle of formula? I will be weaning shortly and want to be prepared to give formula. Do I need one of those fancy bottle warming machines or can I just heat the water up in the microwave first?

It is not recommended to use the microwave to warm up water because it creates hot pockets in the water. I would just use warm tap water or if you use distilled/filtered water, I would heat up the bottle in a mug of hot water or run the bottle under hot water.

I'm glad you have answers @thomas930 and @dani+california I agree, if he was happy it's all good. Dd often wakes up talking to herself and playing with her toes. We let it ride till she fusses.
Question for the group: is diarrhea for 12 hrs warrant a call to the nurses line or should I make an appt? I would guess it's teeth related but she had a rash this weekend so now I'm not sure.

Sullivan drinks room temperature formula. We pre-measure bottle amounts of formula and water from the water cooler in bottles (there's a room temp button), and when he's ready to eat we just combine. We put a bottle in the fridge for the next feeding if he drinks less than half, and use hot water running over it to take the chill off. Ain't nobody got time in this house to heat bottles.
Knitters -- is it necessary to have a second set of needles with the cable(?) between the two needles to knit in the round without having to flat knit then stitch together? Or can you rig a connection between needles on your own?
Double point needles instead of a cable needle. I assume you aren't talking about a cabling needle (to make cables) and just something to knit in the round? I don't use cable needles I use DPNs to do my socks:
As of yesterday, when Sullivan babbles, "momomomomom" "mama" and "mom" are all in his repertoire. I don't think he has an association and is just practicing those sounds because we're prompting him and he's getting a good reaction from it... But omg. I could hear that all day.

LOL I know nothing about knitting, but yes, I just meant something to knit in the round. It sounds like you need so many more tools for knitting than crochet.
Yes you do need more tools. And it's a bit more complicated to knit in the round than crochet in round.
DH refuses to go to the welfare office because I won't use the electric tooth brush his mom got him for his birthday. I told him I'm never going to use it because we may need to sell it. We can't sell it if it's used. So now DH is in shut down mode, again. So now MIL says she'll come down to go to welfare office. I told her she needs to stop enabling him.

I just want to shake both of you.
We were going to go together this morning. Since he won't go and I can't do both kids alone for hours.
@thomas930 I'm glad you have an answer! I've been reading a lot about the fever/rheumatoid arthritis stuff in periodic fevers. You would never have wished for that diagnosis but I'm sure it's such a relief to know its nothing worse!

This is the second time this has happened, but based on her name alone without seeing her, 2 different people have thought Edolie was a boy. How does Edolie sound like a masculine name?? ^#(^

It certainly doesn't sound masculine but it is a name many people are probably unfamiliar with.

Can't you just go straight to your parents and start looking for jobs there? I would personally rather move in with my parents than apply for welfare. And I sure as hell wouldn't be putting up with that shit with your husband. He needs an ultimatum. Get a job and keep family, or welfare and mommy.
@thomas930 I am so happy that you finally have a diagnosis. I have had mild arthritis in my knees, hips and ankles since 7th grade. As long as I stay active, it doesn't bother me.
We have a rebounder (mini trampoline) at home that helps me a lot. It is a gentle exercise that is easy on the joints. It flushes the lymphatic system which helps to keep you healthy, and increases bone density. NASA actually has their astronauts use one when they return from space to help make up for the bone density that they lose while in zero gravity.
You can look up "Rebounding for Health" or "Rebounding for Arthritis" for more information.
Plus, what kid doesn't love to jump on a trampoline. Mine is set up in the living room and DS probably spends 20 minutes a day on it right now just a few minutes at a time.

I am so tired of listening to DH whine about all the things he doesn't get to do. Like I am supposed to feel sorry for him that he can't just up and leave our family at Thanksgiving to go to Philly with the boys. You are 47 years old - stop acting like you're 20. You and your friends need to grow up already.
I haven't even gotten 2 hours off in 5 months so that I can get my hair done but he wants a weekend away on a holiday?! And then bitches at me about money because we need to buy another car seat soon? Your weekend away would cost more than the carseat douchebag!
( She slept 10 minutes the first time and maybe 4 minutes the second time!? What am I supposed to do? Just keep at it with the rest of the day's naps? I put her to sleep then lay her down. Should I try getting her to sleep while she's laying in there? I tried that for a little bit but it didn't seem to be working. Now she's just in there blowing raspberries. [-( )

Guise my toddler is about to drive me insane! Yesterday he was an out of control turd all day. He was in to everything and during his naptime he dumped his potty chair full of poop down the heater vent! Luckily I figured it out right away before the whole house started to smell like crap. So I take his potty chair out of his room, then at his next time out he very deliberately pees on the floor. And today isn't shaping up any better. Anyone want a slightly used toddler?

If she is content, try just leaving her to roll and coo. My Lo does that when I put her down awake and is usually out in 5 minutes (if she is legitimately sleepy). If she fusses, then I try rocking her to sleep.
I second this. Aiden goofs around in his crib sometimes when I put him down for a nap, but if he's tired, he'll go to sleep on his own. There are times he fusses, but that's usually because I've let him stay up too long so then I'll rock him also.
@poru@Dani I've discovered that I'm pretty sure I am a sleep association for her. I've never been able to put her down awake and have her fall asleep on her own, or have her wake up and fall back to sleep. I can always try, but I just don't think it'll work. I need to do some sort of sleep training.

After DD wakes up in the morning (at 9 am) she crawls around and plays in the bed with DH. We have a king size bed. She does this for 30 minutes so I can have breakfast and enjoy a cup of coffee. We have done this everyday since we moved in with my inlaws. Today he says " can you just take her this morning I am tired and have to work later. It is 9 am. " You work at noon. He is just tired because he stayed up all night playing destiny with friends and went to be at 5 am. So needless to say I took her and didn't have my relaxing coffee this morning. Doesn't he realize that since I EBF, that 30 minutes is like a mini vacation!!! She even looked at him and started crying when he left for work. He didn't play with her his morning. Hope her tears made him feel like shit
