. Also, gagging is super common. It's a baby's defense mechanism to get whatever is dangerous out, it can be frightening, but it's normal. Choking is when they really go blue, so I hope you didn't go through that, that would be terrifying!
Can you tell my husband this?  We're still arguing.  His suggestion is moving to rice cereal.  It has not been a happy week here.

He can either deal with it now or he will be dealing with the gagging later when solids are introduced. It can be worse later BTW.

  • @Kewii‌

We didn't do BLW, we've been doing purees for about 2.5 months. We are just now starting to offer solids (puffs, pieces of chicken/veggies) and he still has gagged. It will happen no matter what. The gagging is part of them learning to move the food around their mouths with their tongue. There was only one time it lasted for longer than a split second, and he threw up the puff before I could even do anything.

  • For those of you who say we have no drama.. Unwanted. Someone on the board is ok with spanking a 10 month old.

    Uh huh.
As previously stated... That was the only advice given 12 years ago.
People also give their kids pre packaged food. Gasp!!

So you're telling us that any "advice" you were given you just blindly followed?

    Baaa.

    --------
No, not saying I currently or even in the past 'blindly' followed any advice given.
I get info from many sources, research, family, friends, doctors.
I decide on my own what is an appropriate action to take in any given situation.

Are you telling me that you never did anything 12 years ago that you may not do now?!

You are condoning spanking a 10 month old.. A 10 MONTH OLD.

I already stated I DO NOT CONDONE.

Where is your research on spanking kids under 1yrs old?

    Cite your source, or gtfo.

I guess I will gtfo because that research is with my OB that is now on another continent, on the laptop memory that has been trashed for about 11 years and from family members that have ceased to live.
I'm sure the friends that suggested it would not stand up and admit it because so many people would flip the f out on them and say they were condoning child abuse.

  • @legallyginger @dannie2011 @twaffle5

Thanks for the advice.  I'm trying the it'll happen eventually argument now. He just thinks it's ridiculous to try eating food without teeth (though I'm tempted to point out she has a tooth).  But now he's saying go ahead, even though he disagrees.

I might just do it when he's out of the house for the next few weeks.

If he wants to wait for teeth, he will be waiting a while! The only teeth you really use for chewing are molars and those won't happen for a while.

Once he sees that LO is doing well I'm sure he will be on board.

    Just my 2-cents.
I actually have to agree with you here. I honestly think people got bored and just looked for someone to put down.

  • How do I get Will to sleep laterin the morning? He keeps waking up earlier and earlier. This week has been 4:30 and that's just too early. I have tried keeping him up later and ignoring him. Neither work.
  • bsouls said:

@babylimas Tabitha usually starts to stir around 5am and popping the pacifier back in her mouth, plus turning on the noise machine works. I also mutter, "hell no" if it's too early. She will sleep until 6-6:30.

I also started putting in that seahorse that lights up and plays lullabys when trying to get her to sleep if she just won't fall asleep. She loves it and she eventually falls asleep - it stops her from being fussy/crying during the falling asleep period.

@bsouls I think there is an article about that seahorse catching fire. Not enough to warrant a recall but enough to maybe consider only using it while you're there and awake. Just wanted to tell you in case you hadn't heard.

  • Re: Christmas gifts, I've always liked the idea of something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.

We won't be getting him much because he really doesn't need much, and he will be totally spoiled by his grandparents anyway.

We did the Xmas pj's growing up and will probably continue that with him. I just picked some up at a consignment sale for cheap.

  • Lo and I were in a car accident tonight. Someone with a learners permit pulled out in front of me to turn left. I tried to stop, but they didn't see me. Luckily no one was hurt. Their car didn't have damage. My bumper did. I most shook up that lo was in the car with me. He was asleep but man that freaked me out!!!
So glad you both are ok.

You need to call your car seat manufacturer to find out if your seats needs to be replaced. Some seats after any type of accident the seat needs to be replaced, the insurance company should pay for it.

  • So a lady posted in here instead of m15 about a doula, and referenced her lady part as her Molly.. Eyebrows were raised, comments made, we headed over to M15, she defended this comment on her board saying when she hears the word vagina she hears a tiny man saying it or something.. Weird stuff, we all laughed.. You know.. The usual Tuesday stuff.. Lol!!

  • I feel like every time I go to one of the malls near me that it must be 'mommy-baby meet-up day'. There is always a group of ladies with infants sitting at a table (or two or three) in the food court.
    Today was no exception.
    Lots of women.
    Lots of babies.

I was the only one with a double stroller. Lol.

  • I was annoyed with MH yesterday for leaving his pants laying in the middle of the living room floor. On closer inspection they're actually my pants. Now the questions are 1) why did I take off my pants in the living room and 2) why don't I remember doing that?

Amazon prime is the best! I figure that by not adding a few things I don't really need to every order I'm probably coming out about even. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon though. In the past two weeks alone I've bought: a new carbon monoxide detector, two pairs of pants for MH, a car seat, a nursing bra, and a case of wipes.

One of our techs told me that the girl who covered my leave gave her four weeks notice on Monday. She has no job she's just sick of the bull shit.

Sounds like things are starting to implode now that you're leaving. >:)
It makes me happy for you FBW. I feel like they deserve for shit to hit the fan.

@SurpriseAt39‌ your baby looks really big. And I have a big baby. When did our babies get so big?!

At his appointment yesterday the nurse measured him at 70cm/27.5inches. I've packed up (or listed for sale on kijiji) everything less than 12 months because all onesies and sleepers are too short. (Pants too). He is even too long for some of the 12 month sleepers, but I wonder if they shrunk since they belonged to DS1? He apparently only weighs a little over 16 lbs, but he definitely feels hefty. At this rate both boys may be sharing clothes in a year or less. Lol.
  • @bennieangel I like the outfit! I'm not religious so I'm not sure if its appropriate or not. Do you get a laid back feeling from the church/church people or dibthey seem more formal?
And just out of curiosity because I eventually would like to find a church, how did you find it? Word of mouth? Did you go to a few? Like just show up for a service? Have you always been religious and is this the same religious? Too many questions?
