Mil sent us a few days that would work for her to come here... Dh and I agreed on one and told her. She called HIM today to ask him if this Friday works. X(
Welcome to my shit list lady.
I hope he reiterated the date you previously agreed upon. ?
Someone rifled through DH's car the other night. He was sure he locked it when he got home and DD was sure she heard him lock it, but someone was definitely in it. Nothing seems to be missing. And it doesn't seem anyone touched my car, but now we are making site that both vehicles are locked 4 or 5 times before going to bed.
Funny thing is, I had opened the garage the other day, and was positive I closed it. But 2 hours later I went out and it was open so I pressed the close button. Then again an hour later...open again. Either the sensor was blocked so it reopened when I pressed the button, or I didn't really close it the first time, OR someone else has a remote that uses the same frequency as ours. Nothing was missing from our garage either. But creepy as hell.
@surprise39 that is so creepy!! There are people out there with remotes that as soon as you lock your car door, they can unlock it. Be careful!
LO hasn't pooped in a week. Everything I've read says it's pretty normal for an EBF. I contribute it to his teething. I'm really not that worried about it, he's happy and having plenty of wet diapers. He has his 6 month check-up tomorrow, so I'm sure he will go (poopsplode) on the way there or in her office!

11 days was our longest without poop. I did prune juice w water. My doc was blasé about it since we are ebf and she has plenty of wets. Doc said she's seen 22 days so she wasn't impressed.
He just went!!! We were so excited! Haha oh the things that will bring you joy when you become a mom.

DH wanted the baby to be Yoda. Putting that together would be a little expensive, but then I found a post on how to make an Ewok costume, so I think that's what we're going with. DH wants to go as Luke Skywalker. He's trying to talk me into being Leia.
I know what you mean about the specific angle of the sun. Happens in the winter here. No alarm on the house, but there's a locked door between. I'm guessing something blocked the sensor on the garage door. A spider web caused it to reopen once.
I assume DH actually didn't lock his car when he got home. He frequently leaves it unlocked in the summer because he keeps nothing of value.
@LakeCountryGal I can't find the link. I think I googled star wars baby costumes or star wars family costumes?
Either way, I think it's just a teddy bear costume from Walmart ($15) and a brown Hanes tshirt cut up. The spear I think is made out of foam or cardboard.
Lo is dressing up as a giraffe - once upon a child for $5 - they are his favorite things ever, if there's different animals he always chooses the giraffe
DS1 loved giraffes as a baby and they're still his favorite .
I don't know what we're doing here. I would like to dress all the kids up. At first I had DS1 talked into being the cat in the hat, then dressing the twins up as thing one and thing two. Now he wants to be a dragon instead. Either I will do the cat or come up with something else for the babies. I still have DS1's first costume but they would swim in it.
Happy Monday ladies ! I'm about 4 pages behind since I was on vacay ! I'm not going to read them all ( unless I get bored at work which may be a possibility ). Anyways I hope you all are doing great !!

LO is going to be a parrot for Halloween. DH chose it and he's so excited. He and I may dress as pirates. We'll see.
LO has been spitting up a ton yesterday and today. The only thing different I can think of is that she's had acorn squash the two days, for the first time. She's also pretty cranky and nursing every 2-2.5 hours during the day. She's been going 3-3.5 hours between feedings. I'm going to hold off on any more squash and just nurse as needed, but I worry about her. She had a big spit up that made her cry today. My poor girl
TTC since December 2011 Me: 29 ovulatory disorder DH: 30 MFI - low everything

We're nearing the end of a leap too, but now DD is sick! (
Luckily my MIL is coming up today and can help with the sick baby.
Is it really sad that I'm also glad my moms group got cancelled today? Since DD is sick I wasn't going to go but then it got cancelled and now I feel like I won't miss out on any fun! How immature is that? So sad!
I don't think its immature either. I skipped my breastfeeding group today because LO is sick and I'm bummed out!!
@sanibel21 Yes, eventually. It took DH about 20 minutes to get J to quit crying. Once he was quiet I dozed off for about 2 hours. He actually slept pretty well last night - FX he's over the worst of this phase.
@WisconsinCheese12 meat is starting to be recommended as on of the first foods because of the iron content. Audrey and Rhys have had steak and chicken so far (doing BLW) and loved it. As for juice, um, no. I think DS 1 was probably 2 the first time he had juice. It's still a rare occurrence for him. Teeth concerns with MOTN feeds are more if they fall asleep with a bottle in their mouth they tend to have milk/formula left hanging out which can cause cavities (google milk bottle caries if you want to see awful pics). Easy solution is to make sure that LO is awake when the bottle/boob is taken away so they swallow that last bit in their mouth. Or just take it away and replace with a paci (the sucking stimulates saliva and helps eliminate the remaining milk/formula).
For reading all this, here's a pic of Audrey and her steak!
Juice - hell no!! I didn't give DD juice at all until after she turned 2, possibly 3. We rarely ever have he juice after that. DS1 is almost 2. MIL gave him juice twice. We had told her absolutely not!! But she thinks he needs more variety on beverages. LO will not be getting juice until at least age 2 unless medically indicated.
Brushing teeth - we have a rubber (soft, silicone or whatever) bristle toothbrush that we use on LO. He can chew on it. He likes to play with it. We just use clear water for now. When he has teeth we will switch to a regular bristle brush. When he's over a year we will use non-fluoride toothpaste. Regular fluoride toothpaste when the kids learn to spit. (Our water is fluoridated, so they will get it that way)
@newmomma8 wholesomebabyfoods actually says pears usually digest well. Was it jarred or did you make it? If you made it did you just mash it or cook it? They say cooking it helps break it down a little more to make it even easier to digest. Hope it was a fluke with your LO!
@NewMomma8 he has had avocado banana sweet potato broccoli oatmeal peas. We don't pre mash anything (BLW) but I help him a bit. He grabs the food but misses his mouth do I guide him a little. And spoon feed the oatmeal but he tries to spoon feed himself. We also follow the wholesome baby food chart. Peas he loved. Broccoli upset his tummy so it's on hold another month. Pears: ill do very ripe Bartlet pears. I may put it in the microwave a min or two if it's not soft enough. The kid will take down a whole banana in 15min!
A whole banana?! I am not feeding my kid enough, haha.
Did anyone else notice little black strings in LOs poop after bananas? I have been assuming it's the banana but today I decided maybe assuming is not a good idea..
LO still isn't terribly interested in eating solids. He reaches but doesn't really care. I think he just likes to feel like 'part of the group' at the table.
He's had crackers to hold him when breast feeding is not possible, but otherwise he has no real interest.
Neighbor update: she is due dec 24 and she wants to have the baby way before that because it's not fair to her to not Be able to be around family if she is in the hospital.
Perhaps she isn't ready for this motherhood thing, you kind of cant be selfish. Its not about you anymore... EYE ROLL....

I wasn't in a rush to start solids. I took cues from my baby that he was ready. I really wanted to wait until 6 months, but he was ready before that. He could sit up in his high chair, had lost the tongue thrust, and squealed and opened his mouth when the spoon was brought toward him. He tracked everything anyone put in their mouths and tried to grab food all the time. I would've been fine waiting longer, but he was ready. That's a gross generalization to say people who are feeding solids were in a rush. Plus we have babies ranging from 8 months to 5 months...all in the "ok" range for feeding solids and many are past the 6 month mark.
Edit: Eli was 5.5 months when we started.

Everything @PerkyErky said. We started stage one solids at 4.5 months. He hit all the milestones they say to look for before hand. It hasn't bothered his stomach one bit, and he quickly went from eating a few spoonfuls to eating 3 ounces three times a day.
It's not rushing, it's paying attention to your baby's cues.
I don't feel like everyone who has started solids were in a "rush".
THIS, I didn't want to start them because I felt like I was loosing my babay. BUT I took her cues, she was more then ready for it. And she takes them like a champ twice a day and we are on stage 2 .

My doctor's office is amazing. They ordered extra formula samples specifically for us because they know my supply isn't quite keeping up with both twins. When they told the rep it was for a twin mom he asked for my address and is going to send even more! I know we don't spend as much as some families as we are still bf as much as possible, but that's a huge help when we just bought our second crib and will need 2 more car seats soon!

Annoying as all heck!!
My MIL used to cancel babysitting on me by calling DH.
I don't know if she is aware we discuss everything as well.

Omg!! That highchair tray is huuuuuuge!!!
Very curious looking around in the cart. And no shoes? Did he still get served? MIL would have flipped on me if I took him barefoot shopping.

Our pedi recommended we start meats too. We've been on stage two for about a month now though.
