I'm here, not for long, it's 8am and I worked nights again last night so I'm bout ready to crash. Just ate a grilled cheese in bed, klassy!

@mamachancey lots of names I don't recognize today.
I'm still laying in bed after a night of crappy sleep. Hoping to get motivated to go get some breakfast.
On a good note, we told my SO's son about the baby last night. He was excited & wants a little sister. He told my SO's sister (who's due 2 weeks before me) he wants her to have a boy, so I guess he wants one of each. Surprisingly he asked me if I was excited about the baby. I said "yes, I'm excited...but this is my first baby so I'm a little scared." He told me it's ok and not to be scared because I'm going to love the baby! Too freakin cute.
I have a lot of studying and laundry to do today. Tomorrow's going to be a nightmare at work because we're closed today -- we usually have ~50 patients on Tuesdays, but tomorrow we have 68. I'm trying not to think about it.
I'm enjoying my coffee and enjoying the paint job my dh did yesterday. When we bought this house over a year ago, it was like Frankenstein with the paint colors. The downstairs is finally done.
I haven't read any threads yet except what was new on yesterday's random. Today is probably going to be the slowest of all slow days. Except Christmas. That will be slower. And Thanksgiving.
Meh, anyhow, yesterday was super awesome UNTIL night time when E gave us hell going to bed. I don't know what demon replaces my sweet daughter upon bed time, but this shit needs to STOP. It has to be a phase...but it keeps going on and on and on no matter what we try. Oy vey.
But yesterday during the day we went to Providence and had a HUGE lunch at Fire and Ice (which I've been craving), and then we went to Roger Williams Park (which is the best park ever) and Eleanor went on her first carousel ride (and kept signing for more. We took her on 3 times and were both dizzy by the time we were through and she still signed for more). She got to go on a train ride too and play in the playground. Twas nice.
Today we have a cookout with family and I need to manage to get my ass to the grocery store, do the week's shopping, and come back and make pasta salad before going over. At least we aren't expected until late afternoon since E has to nap and such. But still...I don't want to move. I already meal planned, so at least that's done, and K offered to go to the store for me, but I'll probably end up going so he can paint during E's nap (we are trying SO hard to move upstairs!!!!)
I'm here. Covered in aloe lotion. Guise, I am so sunburned.
Omg that's awful, I know one time when I was a teen I decided I needed to go in a "super" tan bed for my first appointment and it was so and I couldn't unbend my arms or legs. I feel for ya
Oh today's also the day my brothers supposed to move out. Last I saw nothing was packed in his room. Wish us luck for as drama free as possible ending today with this. I love my brother but I'm not putting up with this shit today.
Hello ladies. After all of the fantasy football excitement, I was exhausted. Slept like a champ, and it seems as though my spotting/bleeding has stopped. It's been 24 hours, so here's hoping!
That's great!! It's been about 36 hours for me since the big bleed and I'm cautiously optimistic. Here's to happy and healthy pregnancies
I'm here! I love that I can post on my computer today. Usually during the week I'm on mobile during the day and I don't like posting on mobile.
I ordered the Sonoline B doppler last month and it arrived several weeks ago. I let it sit in the box for a long time. Yesterday, I finally worked up the nerve to use it. After 30 - 45 frustrating minutes I finally found the heartbeat! I don't think I will be using the doppler much until baby is bigger and easier to find.
Today we are working on moving stuff out and making some room. Converting the guest room into a nursery seemed like a simple enough task... Until we entered Lowe's and determined we needed a built-in closet, roman shades, new carpet, and new light fixtures. Nesting is so lovely.
I'm trying to find some zen before we clean the house, finish the yard, shop for ingredients, then cook for a patio party. Oy, they always sound like a good idea until it comes to cleaning.
On a positive note, I totes did yardwork for a good 4 hours today! I'm sore as hell, but it's something I wouldn't have been able to do even two weeks ago. Woohoo I'm back!

Sorry if I missed it, but did they find the cause of your bleed? They didn't find anything with me..which kind of freaked me out. Unexplained bleeding, I just hope it doesn't go into second tri! She did say I don't have placenta Previa, which is good.. Unfortunately they couldn't give me an answer but the ER isn't really equipped for that so I'm hoping my doc will see me tomorrow. It was rough because I had a doctor telling me that one day I'll have a baby but now isn't my time and when the baby ended up being fine he seemed disappointed. He was telling me his wife just lost their baby so maybe he felt sad for her that she didn't have the same outcome? I've lost two and I don't want to go through that again especially this far along(14 weeks). I feel alright tho
Oh it's been such a great weekend! Saturday my best friend watched my kids for a bit and @wendyld and I had a GTG! Is this the first for the board?? We met at Panera and I also met her twin sister. Both of them are such sweet and funny ladies. We just talked and had girl time and it was awesome. We wish we took a picture, but both of us didn't know if that would be weird or not haha. We figured out over pm we were both cool with that, so next time we meet we will document it.
Then my BF and I took the kids shopping all day and then went to a baseball game that night and saw fireworks afterwards. The kids loved it all.
Yesterday the kids went with my dad and BF and I went floating on the river in Missouri. There were snooty, perfectly fit cheerleaders and douchebag men cheerleaders lifting them into stunts over and over again... And they would not stop cheering or flipping or demanding all attention!!11!1!! It was beyond obnoxious. They had to be 18-20 years old and acted 16. But my friend and I found a couple other girls who were down to earth along with some of her other Missouri friends and we went on a separate raft and had a blast. It was different being sober, but I actually had more fun that way. We came home, got the kids, and crashed. Now we're just being lazy. Don't know what we're doing yet today besides bathing in aloe Vera from our sunburns..

Sorry that you've been having a hard time with getting your daughter to sleep lately! That's rough! I see you also mentioned that your daughter signs. I am super curious about this and was going to bring it up in a future topic later on, but since you mentioned it .... How does it work? Was it as difficult as it seems? What resources did you use? Sorry for the questions; I've always heard about it, but never have had a chance to research or interact with anyone that's done it.
@SNLT1012 I have become a lobster on many occasions. I blame my lack of common sense in not using or reapplying sunscreen, haha! But for that reason, I always have that blue aloe Vera gel (can't remember the name) but it's super cooling/wonderful. I think it has menthol in it.
@ToasterCat haha yes I was relieved to see a woman and not a creepy dude. One of these days I would totally love to join a GTG out of state, since I'm in Oklahoma and there aren't many others in OK on the board besides me and Wendy. Actually I haven't seen anyone else from OK yet.
My random is more just complaining and stress! I have to spend all day (all weekend) going through stuff and either getting rid of everything I own or packing it to come with us. It's hard!! The stuff we're getting rid of will be sold at a garage sale or donated in a couple weeks.
And, I also just found out that my dog might not be able to come with us to Doha, Qatar because Rottweilers are a banned breed. That would mean boarding her here for 2-4 years!! (no way in heck am I getting 'rid' of her ... she's my baby so this is pretty devastating). She's a mix and completely golden in color, but her body/head/shape are very Rotti. We have to get a USDA vet to certify what her breed is, and I'm hoping that he can put that she's a mix, or something, so she can still come. Leaving my pup behind (ok, she's almost 5) would be devastating.

That's so awesome that you have someone as cool as Wendy near you to G2G with! There are some pretty rad ladies within reach of Chicago but that would take some organizing. Color me jealous! I'm glad it was fun and that neither of you turned out to be big hairy dudes!
I was going to be in town visiting my sister for the weekend anyhow so I figured why not make the most of it. I can confirm she is not a big hairy dude. She is a good foot taller than my sister and I though.

I'd ask your vet if they can recommend some fostering programs over boarding.
@wendyld I was actually just starting to look into this idea today as well. I found a place in VA that does long term fostering on a farm and it seems really nice. I haven't ever had to leave my pets for more than a week or two, though, so it's all completely new to me.
I'm being lazy today. My H has to work again and my energy is dragging. I am going to attempt a shower and laundry, but I really just want another nap...yeah I'm boring.
@DragonflyDreaming I missed that you're moving. With a place like Qatar, is this a military move? If so, I know there are programs that will foster military dogs that can't go with their owners on deployments and such.
Re: ....Baby one more time
I woke up with acid coming up my throat and the overwhelming need to barf at 2 am from all the Mexican I ate so that was a bad idea

I'm making a cake and berry trifle. Easy peasy. Going to the store is not my favorite though
@SNLT1012 omg you poor thing!! I buy this stuff from a health food store and it has saved SO and me so many times! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CQ7XQY2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1409581747&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40 it's all essential oils and doesn't make me nauseous at all and works wonders! I don't usually peel after using it and it's so much more moisturizing and cooling than aloe.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic long weekend and getting some much needed rest!
