Omg that's awful, I know one time when I was a teen I decided I needed to go in a "super" tan bed for my first appointment and it was so and I couldn't unbend my arms or legs. I feel for ya

Ouch! Hope it turns to tan soon!
  • @FrecklesInside‌ ugh you just reminded me I have to go the store as well for shit to make dessert for a cookout today.

I'm making a cake and berry trifle. Easy peasy. Going to the store is not my favorite though
  • I'm here! I love that I can post on my computer today. Usually during the week I'm on mobile during the day and I don't like posting on mobile.

I ordered the Sonoline B doppler last month and it arrived several weeks ago. I let it sit in the box for a long time. Yesterday, I finally worked up the nerve to use it. After 30 - 45 frustrating minutes I finally found the heartbeat! I don't think I will be using the doppler much until baby is bigger and easier to find.

  • Can someone explain to me why the need to have your kid have a "unique" name?

Hello ladies. After all of the fantasy football excitement, I was exhausted. Slept like a champ, and it seems as though my spotting/bleeding has stopped. It's been 24 hours, so here's hoping!

That's great!! It's been about 36 hours for me since the big bleed and I'm cautiously optimistic. Here's to happy and healthy pregnancies

Sorry if I missed it, but did they find the cause of your bleed? They didn't find anything with me..which kind of freaked me out. Unexplained bleeding, I just hope it doesn't go into second tri! She did say I don't have placenta Previa, which is good..
Unfortunately they couldn't give me an answer but the ER isn't really equipped for that so I'm hoping my doc will see me tomorrow. It was rough because I had a doctor telling me that one day I'll have a baby but now isn't my time and when the baby ended up being fine he seemed disappointed. He was telling me his wife just lost their baby so maybe he felt sad for her that she didn't have the same outcome? I've lost two and I don't want to go through that again especially this far along(14 weeks). I feel alright tho

  • I haven't read any threads yet except what was new on yesterday's random. Today is probably going to be the slowest of all slow days. Except Christmas. That will be slower. And Thanksgiving.

Meh, anyhow, yesterday was super awesome UNTIL night time when E gave us hell going to bed. I don't know what demon replaces my sweet daughter upon bed time, but this shit needs to STOP. It has to be a phase...but it keeps going on and on and on no matter what we try. Oy vey.

But yesterday during the day we went to Providence and had a  HUGE lunch at Fire and Ice (which I've been craving), and then we went to Roger Williams Park (which is the best park ever) and Eleanor went on her first carousel ride (and kept signing for more. We took her on 3 times and were both dizzy by the time we were through and she still signed for more). She got to go on a train ride too and play in the playground. Twas nice.

Today we have a cookout with family and I need to manage to get my ass to the grocery store, do the week's shopping, and come back and make pasta salad before going over. At least we aren't expected until late afternoon since E has to nap and such. But still...I don't want to move. I already meal planned, so at least that's done, and K offered to go to the store for me, but I'll probably end up going so he can paint during E's nap (we are trying SO hard to move upstairs!!!!)
Sorry that you've been having a hard time with getting your daughter to sleep lately! That's rough! :( I see you also mentioned that your daughter signs. I am super curious about this and was going to bring it up in a future topic later on, but since you mentioned it .... ;) How does it work? Was it as difficult as it seems? What resources did you use? Sorry for the questions; I've always heard about it, but never have had a chance to research or interact with anyone that's done it. :)

@SNLT1012‌ I have become a lobster on many occasions. I blame my lack of common sense in not using or reapplying sunscreen, haha! But for that reason, I always have that blue aloe Vera gel (can't remember the name) but it's super cooling/wonderful. I think it has menthol in it.
  • @ToasterCat‌ haha yes I was relieved to see a woman and not a creepy dude. One of these days I would totally love to join a GTG out of state, since I'm in Oklahoma and there aren't many others in OK on the board besides me and Wendy. Actually I haven't seen anyone else from OK yet.

My random is more just complaining and stress! I have to spend all day (all weekend) going through stuff and either getting rid of everything I own or packing it to come with us. It's hard!! The stuff we're getting rid of will be sold at a garage sale or donated in a couple weeks.

And, I also just found out that my dog might not be able to come with us to Doha, Qatar because Rottweilers are a banned breed. :( That would mean boarding her here for 2-4 years!! :'( (no way in heck am I getting 'rid' of her ... she's my baby so this is pretty devastating). She's a mix and completely golden in color, but her body/head/shape are very Rotti. We have to get a USDA vet to certify what her breed is, and I'm hoping that he can put that she's a mix, or something, so she can still come. Leaving my pup behind (ok, she's almost 5) would be devastating.
  • @SNLT1012‌ I hope that heals up quickly! That doesn't look fun!

@cinderella105‌ and @wendyld‌ glad you both were able to get together! And glad it went well!

I'd ask your vet if they can recommend some fostering programs over boarding.

@wendyld‌ I was actually just starting to look into this idea today as well. I found a place in VA that does long term fostering on a farm and it seems really nice. I haven't ever had to leave my pets for more than a week or two, though, so it's all completely new to me.
  • I'm being lazy today. My H has to work again and my energy is dragging. I am going to attempt a shower and laundry, but I really just want another nap...yeah I'm boring.

Dude, please don't do this. It's manipulative, and can make her feel like it's her fault if anything does go wrong with your pregnancy.
Shit, never really thought about it that way.

@DragonflyDreaming‌ I missed that you're moving. With a place like Qatar, is this a military move? If so, I know there are programs that will foster military dogs that can't go with their owners on deployments and such.
