So, I'm now stressed. I was taping boxes to pack, and have one of those packing tape roller things. Great, except I always have difficulty tearing it at the end. After hours of work, I was frustrated and yanked really hard when it was being overly difficult ... and literally punched myself HARD in the lower abdomen. Yep, probably just where baby is chilling out when I have a full bladder. Needless to say, I'm now kicking myself for being impatient. There's nothing I can really do about it, but just wanted to vent out my stress and frustration.
Anyone know of any good exercises or something else that will help with hip discomfort? My hips are so uncomfortable today. I don't remember finding anything that really helped when I was pregnant with DS but I also don't remember getting hip discomfort this early on either.
I am a big fan of stretching. I like to do yoga pigeon pose or wall hip stretches.
I was thinking pigeon but that's going to be tricky with a bump. Look online for the standing and sitting modifications - they will work for now but you'll have to find another hip opener for when you're further along.
So I really want to be excited about my pregnancy but it is hard because of family problems. I have a 10 year old niece who has a hectic form of colon cancer passed down from my sister. Next week they meet with a surgeon to set a date to have her colon completely removed. My sister had her surgery 9 years ago and I remember how hard it was on her and I look at my niece and just want to cry for her. It just isn't fair for little ones to go through this stuff. My poor mom is stressed to the max with worry and grieving the loss of my stepdad, who passed in February from a different type of colon cancer. My family is being hit hard and it makes it hard to celebrate happy stuff when everyone is so sad. Don't get me wrong, I love that I am having a baby and already love this little booger, but it is just difficult right now. Sorry to be a downer.
@SNLT1012 my dad taught us that if you take a shower as hot as you can stand, it draws the heat out of the sunburn. Hurts like hell when the water first hits it, but I have used that trick on many bad burns. Slather aloe after your shower and you'll be sitting pretty. DH took this picture of my burn last year...used that trick and it had pretty much completely faded and didn't hurt at all by the next day.
I'm sorry but that makes zero sense
Oh trust me, I know. The first time my dad told me to do it, I thought he'd lost his mind. I was desperate though, so I tried it. I have no idea why it works and have never met anyone else who has done it so I can't compare. I just know it works for me and my dad. Maybe we're aliens? >-)
DH is out if town, visiting my family. I wish I could have gone. In other news my doctor called today and he is bailing on me because our baby is actually babies. Now I have to go through the process of finding a doctor all over again. He said while all my Bloodwork came back perfect, he doesn't handle twin pregnancies.

I am breaking the rules because I just woke up and there are 6 pages...
Anyway, i feel soo fucking fantastic. I had joined a mommy fb group a few weeks ago (added from What to Expect App), and it was mind numbing.
I was tired of getting notifications, and honestly I just didn't want to deal with them anymore. Plus I didn't like that some of them tried adding me willy nilly. I don't know you from adam, and the only thing I do know is that we are both impregnated and due around the same time.
Any case, I decided to remove myself from the page today, and I feel a million times better. It was like seeing double troll threads from this forum, and then on fb. I needed to get away from the trolls!
Anyway, I am craving indian food, and the place I like is on campus.... boo, but fuck it, I want some tiki marsala and naan!
Hi everyone! For anyone that's read about my cat Bobby he is finally home from the hospital and has just been sleeping since he got home. I came to check on him and he climbed up to snuggle me so I got stuck. I could never say no to this precious face. He had his first feeding through the feeding tube and it went well. So now we're crossing everything we have that he starts eating on his own. I'm so scared that he won't and we'll be having an awful conversation in 2 weeks. But I'm trying not to let myself go there. As morbid as this sounds I feel like this is the universe saying fine have your healthy pregnancy but life can't be too good. Fuck you universe.

@malijo1025 those are totally normal feelings. You are right, life isn't fair sometimes. When I hear of children going through difficult things like that it makes so many other problems seem so small. Prayers for your niece, and the rest of your family as well. Hugs.

Thank you for the prayers. Luckily we are a very close family so we all pitch in when times get tough.

Thanks for the prayers for my family. And the hugs.
@wendyld Thanks so much for the encouraging words!! So much appreciated.
@jap618 I've got everything crossed that life IS going to be awesome for the rest of your pregnancy (and beyond) because Bobby will recover quickly and safely. Cats are resilient and luckily they come with 9 lives!
@finallyourturn2 Maybe your dr can at least refer you to a good dr that handles twins? Sorry they're putting you through the new searching at this point. But there's still a long way to go and having a Dr comfortable and familiar with twins will probably male you feel a lot better!
@snickersforeveryone I know that I always (Even when burnt) have had hot showers (like really really hot) because that's the way I like them. When burnt, it stings like heck, but I slowly raise the temp throughout the shower and end up feeling way better. I always attributed the better feeling to the aloe I would add, afterwards, though, so it may have been that, for me.

@malijo1025 I'm so sorry about your niece and the tough stuff going on with your family at the moment. Hopefully the happiness of your new baby will actually help out during these sad times for your family since I'm sure that, even in these tough times, they are really happy for you. Continue to stay strong for them, but try not to take on their stress, if possible.
@jap618 I think I missed a post in between. I knew you guys were taking him to the vet, but missed what they decided is wrong. I hope he's all better soon.

Unfortunately just about everything. They did an ultrasound on Saturday and most of his major organs were inflamed (liver, kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder and intestines) and he had a blocked bile duct and blood in his urine. They didn't think the liver had started into failure yet so we're all hopeful. They put him on fluids, antibiotics, steriods, anti nausea meds and pain meds. He didn't start eating on his own in the hospital over 24 hours so we opted for a feeding tube. He has done well with it so far and came home this afternoon. He's now on a strict feeding schedule and med schedule in hopes that he'll bounce back. I haven't been able to move in hours because he hasn't left my side. So here I am mobile bumping and binge watching NCIS.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes ♡

@saltyfins did you ever get an answer about your doppler question? I might have just missed it.
I wasn't able to pick up the baby until today (11w1d, but I haven't tried the past few days) and previously could only get a count as high as 125ish as well. That's probably too low to be baby and is probably placenta.
When I finally got it today my Doppler only occasionally was able to put out an actual number but when it did it was in the 160s to 170s. Because I was able to record it on my phone I played it back and counted the beats for 10 seconds and then multiplied by 6.
Have you watched any YouTube videos? If not they'll help you to differentiate the sounds. I personally like this one because it's JUST heartbeat:

I'm glad your kitty is home. It's so upsetting when pets get sick. Hopefully he does well with the feeding tube & has a full recovery.
My best friend, who has three kids with the same guy is getting married! They've been together for over six years, and this will be her second marriage. He found out he needs open heart surgery in a few months, so they are getting married next month. I'm very excited for her, but I'm a little stressed out because I know she'll want a bridal shower and bachelorette party and there isn't a lot of time to plan for it all.

The mother of a friend of min suggested the same thing to me when we were kids. She said use hot water to draw out the heat. I've never tried it but I have heard it before.
My tv just turned off because of 4 hours without anyone touching the remote. I've apparently turned into a blob. More NCIS here I come. And I'm patiently waiting for DH to bring me a pb&j sandwich.

I'm stuck watching Criminal Minds while eating garlic stuffed olives and can't stop either. I'm getting some stretching pain and I'm glad I'm already in bed relaxing..... maybe I'll play some video games to break the monotony.
Oh and my cats are obsessed with olives and are trying to eat my lips off to gets bite lol.

Your skin being burnt has nothing to do with heat. It's radiation damage, plain and simple. Would you put ice on your frostbite? No. If anything putting hot water on your damaged skin would damage it further. No doctor on earth will tell you to apply heat to a first degree burn of any kind.
Applying heat may feel better in the short term since you're probably damaging (and thus numbing) nerve endings. It is actually making the damage to your skin worse though.
I haven't been around all weekend so I hope everything here has been ok. My randoms: I have a FF draft tonight, and hopefully it doesn't interfere too much with me watching the Saved by the Bell movie tonight (it's on Lifetime @ 8pm Central)
I came out on FB today Here's one of the photos (I'm going to dd later):

I wasn't negating the fact that it doesn't make sense only stating I had heard something similar.
I just got a small pizza and breadsticks from papa johns for less than $7 thanks to the white sox scoring more than 5 runs yesterday.
I love their breadsticks but am allergic to something in the dough so I can't have them. My husband had them the other night and it was torture! Enjoy.

This is pretty much my experience yesterday at 11w4d. I got a lot of reading in the 120s and when the doppler finally picked up baby's hb, it was in the 170s, but only for a short period of time. I guess the baby was moving!
