I have been there twice and LOVE it!! Haven't been able to make it the last couple years, but it was always so much fun! True story: the second time I went, I ended up having such a bad gallbladder attack that I decided to get it to removed there (in Seattle). I missed the latter half the day of Saturday of PAX, but was back having a blast on sunday (right after my hospital release) ... didn't realize how much the morphine had been helping until Monday when the pain just kicked me in the entire inside and I couldn't leave the bed for 2 days! That was a memorable trip, lol!
@goofygoff
PAX, as in the Penny Reade Expo in Seattle??

Yep! This was my 7th or 8th year in a row.
Oof, I've had my gall bladder removed, as well. I was surprised at how quickly I recovered, and would've probably done the same thing you did! Including the subsequent suffering.
Ok, so maybe it's bad advice to scald your already burned back. Who knew?
So I will retract my "you should try this" and say instead that it's what I do to take the sting away (post shower). For me it works...but I will freely admit that it makes absolutely, positively NO sense and is counter intuitive. And I will go even further and admit that when I burned in Guatemala bad enough to blister, I did not use that particular trick. There are limits to even my insanity.
And I know sunburn has nothing to do with heat...I think "draw the heat out" refers to that warmth you feel from a bad burn. It's probably one of those old wives' tale remedies that's worded funny.
So @SNLT1012, I promise I wasn't sitting in a corner, alternating between steepling my fingers and creepily stroking my cat, sadistically hoping to cause you more pain. I hope your sunburn heals quickly.
@ToasterCat, et al, thanks for your input. I had not actually considered that the hot water could cause more damage.
@jcar2 boo. I have a new casserole in the crock pot but dh is worried. if it doesn't turn out it'll be chinese or pizza here too. Nothing sounds good to tell you the truth. I've just been laying on the couch waiting til it's an acceptable time to try my pumpkin kix treats!

did you say pumpkin kix? *drools*
It's regular kix I turned into pumpkin kix treats. A page or two back. I posted the link.
@alewife Have you tried a white noise machine or box fan to drown out noise? They have always saved me when I lived in condos/apartments.
That's a really good idea. Though, I worry I may become dependent on them forever. Some of my friends have used fans for the same effect and now cannot sleep without them. Did you have that experience once you moved out of a community living?
I still live in a condo - stopped using the white noise machine & switched to just a regular fan recently. (H's request.) It's quieter than the box fan & WN machine, and I've been sleeping fine with it. I do have trouble sleeping without any white noise, but I can do ok as long as it's quiet. Sleep is my top priority so I don't care about the dependence issue too much.
Here's my random for the night-I just saw that Carrie Underwood announced today she's pregnant-I'm betting she's a March mom too. I know we all talked about the Duggars a couple wk ago so thought I would share what I just saw.
Sorry to everyone having rough day today. @janda426 I'm sorry about the tough time with your bro, hope it went ok. @SNLT1012 ouchie honey!! Feel better. @chilibeansm0m girl you are making me want to make errrthing you're making!! Yum! @jap618 I hope Bobby gets better, I hate that he got so sick! @luckystarz cute pup snuggling you!! And was it @ruemorgan that made the announcement with the Dane and poodle? So stinkin cute, both of them. @meladoriestar happy birthday hun, I really hope the bleeding stops and FX it's nothing.
I know there was more....
I hope Maui had a good trip! I'm very intrigued to hear about the booze vacay.
I bought more maternity clothes today!! I really think I'm about done now. Crap except I still don't have any casual stuff like shorts. I have lots of tops but no shorts. And I live in FL so I'll need shorts until November at least. I've looked at target, old navy, and motherhood maternity without luck. They have shorts but just not ones I like. Must keep looking I guess. But my work wardrobe is about complete.
Since I know you all love my family meal stories: family dinner. Just DH and me, dad, and stepmom. So there's a long history between my stepmom and brother. It's a very open hostility at this point (she's insane, gets drunk a lot, and texts him bitching about everything wrong with him- it's really bad). So dinner tonight was my stepmom having a few drinks and trying to get me on her side regarding my brother and saying my dad should cut him off.
Also part of her example is that kids are entitled now and that's why babies are born and open their eyes right away but back in the good days babies weren't so entitled and so didn't open their eyes for three days.
Damn those entitled babies and their baby eyeballs...
I am so glad I am part of this group. It is nice to be able to come on here and get support from all of you. Thank you to all of you ladies. I love that we all have a place to come together and care about each other. Even if we don't all agree on everything. It is nice to have you all be part of my pregnancy.
@meladoriestar wtf? Opening their eyes early is a sign of entitlement? Or they are entitled because we "allow" them to open their eyes? Holy fudge. At least there's never a dull moment?

@mayaruthie we used that theme for our announcements. That shirt is adorable!
@jap618 I hope Bob gets to feeling better!
