obviously I won't yell in their face but the point is to make it clear on the invitation that we do not want presents and will not be doin a present opening. With both of those stated, if someone still brings one then I will assume they didn't care about how I felt. And I will accept it. But if you invite 50 people and they all bring you a random onesie or some brand of bottles you won't even be using, then that's a pointless waste of money and contradicts the point of 'showering' the mom. People just need to really learn manners. If someone told me don't bring formula or diapers cause we are breast feeding and using cloth diapers and I walked in with a giant box of pampers disposables then I should expect to feel uncomfortable. Not the other way around.

if someone brought me a stroller or crib or large then out of courtesy to them I would not accept it because I will already have bought my own. And it's not my fault that they didn't listen to the fact that I have all my items bought already but would appreciate personalized books or money if that was something they wanted to do. If you bought someone a $300 stroller after they already told you they had everything, it would be your own fault to cause that awkwardness of them having to tell you they can't accept. Or would you rather they take it and then donate it to goodwill?

Ghost, I appreciate you. I open the links you post and leave them in my browser for my MOTN feedings. It's lovely, and I thank you...all while trolling other people's ridiculousness. It's awesome.
I love this thread. It makes me love our July 14 group more and more with each laughable (sometimes with snorting and tears!) post from the other months. Keep it coming ladies!
That girl can't be real. Clearly it is the only explanation..
Especially because she knew she'd be banned for the C-bomb

This person posted a pic (now removed thankfully) of someone else's 14 year old daughter, cropped to show a close up of the girl's breasts for other people to critique, since she felt it was too revealing for her age.
WTH. If someone ever posts a pic of my daughters breasts (once she has them, since she's currently only a month old), I will destroy them.

OP came back and posted a picture? I read the thread when it was originally posted an there were no pictures.

https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12424930/thank-you/p1 First off I have been primarily a spectator in this forum or I guess from what I have read a "lurker". I read a post below about the women in this group being crazy and I would have to agree, but it is entertaining at night when I cannot sleep.
So here's a topic I read about in a different thread, I don't think we have yet to discuss this. Btw I'm 25-26 weeks pregnant with my first baby, team green and due dec 4th.
I want to hear some educated opinions on if you think medical marijuana is bad for a pregnant women?
I know first hand from close friends, my family and myself (whom mother used medical marijuana when I was in her belly) that it has has no adverse effect on their children. I live in a area that medical marijuana is used to treat chronic illness so their are plenty of stories to prove my case. I just still want to hear your guys view.
Also maybe a comparison of alcohol compared to marijuana in your opinion. I don't drink and wouldn't while I was pregnant, but am actually amazed at some of the threads I have read on how many dec 14 mothers do..

No link sorry, but a girl in my Facebook group just posted a video of an ALS ice bucket challenge for their baby!!
Maybe 6 weeks? Dad holds him and dumps a large cup of water into baby's face. No surprise he starts screaming bloody murder.
I think the photos of oven roaster babies were funny, but this was just mean. I didn't think it was funny or cute at all, even if the water wasn't actually cold it was just awful...

Oven roaster babies? Am I missing something?
----------- stuck in grey? ------------
It was a Facebook group for July moms that started early in our pregnancies, can't remember if it was from here or WTE. It's a large group.
The oven roaster baby was reference to "controversial" photos that were floating around recently of some lady that taped her baby's pacifier to her face and than had pictures of her in the oven roaster. People were crying child abuse - I don't know about the pacifier pic but the oven roaster one was obviously supposed to be a joke.
But this video is just fucked up, I can't imagine the damage if it got out. I heard oven roaster lady was getting investigated by CPS!

Wow, that was a lot. But the poem one of the members wrote about her struggle to bf was so beautiful and touching. I also like how she called herself a breastfeeding warrior even though it didn't work out for her. What a positive affirmational statement.
I couldn't read the whole poem because it was too much for me right now. But I think that M15 has got their work cut out for them with all the BSC going on there.
But guys, did you see the poster with the baby owl in the siggy? I feel like that gif made me want an eye-rolling-good massage...real...bad...
eta - bsc in relation to the anti vaxers and BF mandatory crazies not the poem or author.

As of tonight I can say the same thing- I'm so ashamed of these people. Different baby, he's about a year old and sitting sweetly in his bath tub when mom puts a cup full of ice water over the top of his head.

Who does this to a baby???
That makes me ragey. And to think I feel like the worst person ever when LO gets cold during normal bath time. I also saw oven roaster woman in TV and she made me ragey too.

I am 13 weeks along and want to choke my baby's father most of the day. We were mainly friends and causally dating when we got pregnant. Since we have started to tell people he has been acting like we are seriously dating now which I am in no way ready for. He has been acting jealous and making statements that I would expect to come from a teenage boy even though he is 33 years old. Today he told me about a friend that he told that we are expecting and how she wants to babysit then follows it up with "well she's a totally awesome chick." This in my mind clearly means he has no standards for who watches our child and he is too much of a child to communicate any qualifications that he can see in other person. We are so far even from that point but he drives me crazy almost daily at this point and it seems hard to picture a future with someone I can barely stand at this point. I know a lot of this is petty but has anyone else felt this about their partner?

Really bad name. If they pronounce it "Cosmo" everybody is going to think of Kramer on Seinfeld.
It reminded me of the Jetsons. The silent S just makes it extra cringe worthy.

@SuperTinkerham that's a real winner. TY for the morning entertainment; I hope she's a troll too because otherwise WTF. And seriously, the spelling capabilities of people over at BC are for shit. Don't people have spell check/auto correct on their phones or the red squiggle when on a computer?

I don't even know where to begin.... But I am so upset right now I can't even think of what to do. I just left my house and I'm sitting by the lake trying to clear my head.
I am a nurse and last night at work I used our ultrasound machine to take a quick peek at our baby. I'm almost 20 weeks and I haven't seen her in awhile, it wasn't that busy, so I took like 5 minutes and kinda checked up on her.
Well when I got home from work I told my husband and step son that I got to see the baby last night at work..... My husband FREAKED out saying how selfish I was, how I didn't take his feelings into consideration, how he has no say in what has been happening with the baby... He said he was going to file for divorce.
I truly don't think I was wrong in taking a half-assed ultrasound of my baby while I had some down time at work... I'm not an ultrasound tech, I really don't know how to work the machine. I just thought it was a perk of my job that I hadn't taken advantage of yet....
I feel like he is overreacting.
I told him it was MY body the baby was inside so I could do what I wanted with my body, and it wasn't harmful to the baby so what's the big deal....
He says it's part of him too...
But he won't even touch my belly. It "grosses" him out.
I don't know what to do.
I am new to this area and I have no friends here. I feel so helpless and alone.... And pathetic that the only thing I can think of doing is pouring my heart out to some strangers on the internet....
To be with my husband I have isolated myself from my parents and my only brother - we moved to another part of the country even though they thought it was a bad idea. I work full time and my husband does not work. He hasn't worked in over 2 years. He has a son from a previous relationship who lives with us so he is a stay at home dad...
Never in a million years would I have thought he'd react in this way. I only could see the top of her head anyway... It's hard to do an ultrasound on yourself while standing up! Now he wants a divorce. This is so crazy. And I just worked a 12 hour night shift and I have no where to go...
I thought about going to a hotel but it's only 10am so I can't check in anywhere yet and it's going to be 97 degrees today.....
I just don't know what to do.
