  • Found out today that my paternal grandma doesn't know who I am. My mom was crying after church Sunday, and I thought it was because a friend of a friend had passed away. She told me today it was because my grandma walked past me, saw me, and she could tell she didn't recognize me. My dad didn't want me to know. :( thank goodness I have this little cutie to make me feel better, but it still sucks.
  • Sent DH to the store for root beer and ice cream. We would have had enough ice cream but he's been eating it all week and it's nearly gone. Dude has ZERO self control.

  • Parenthood. When watching a new 95 minute movie takes 5 hours.

Yes! I keep starting the same episode over and over because I can't watch it straight through.
  • Cupcake makes a frosting flavored vodka that when put into rootbeer makes and very yummy adult rootbeer float. Also good in orange soda and coke.
  • @Jessieann1020‌, to me a carpet runs wall to wall, and a rug covers a certain area. I'm from the wild Wild West (CO).

@mamrotu73‌ that is too fucking cute
I'll be sure to AW the good one when I get around to it. It will be navy blue with white lining to match the navy dress I plan to wear at the wedding we are going to. I think DH has a navy suit as well, so they'll be twinsies.

I may have to make a powder blue one and find a friend for A to trick-or-treat with after we move so they can go as Dumb and Dumber.

LOL! Aiden has a powder blue striped one I made for him that he wore this weekend after his baptism. I'll have to make him another in October for a wedding we're attending then.

    Edit: D'oh! Forgot the photo...

I've always boycotted sewing too but I'm really starting to see that I'm going to need a machine. So I asked my hoarder MIL if she had any old machines she'd let me use/have. Turns out she has 7, and won't let me even borrow one! DH is hesitant to buy one because he's only seen his mom's example which is buy all of JoAnn's and half of a Michael's, then shove it all into a spare bedroom stacked to the cieling (literally) and never make one fucking thing. So if I did convince him I truly needed one, I'd have to sew all the things to prove it was necessary. And that sounds exhausting.

This sounds like my MIL, except that woman is always sewing.  It's like sugary sweet crack to her. XD

  • So I remember someone asking why they didn't have something to keep the pacifier on the mouth while baby was sleeping or in the car. Well they did make one. It's called the beeni baby hat. It's being recalled d/t infant asphyxiation.

@MrsW26‌ do yourself a favor and DONT buy a singer or an internet brother machine. If you have to buy online get a janome. Best bet is to find a local shop so they can show you the basics.
Seconding this.  I heart my Janome.  I got my first one off ebay as a discounted floor model and got my second one at a sewing machine shop.

Just lovetitting all over because I missed too much to comment on everything.

I put DD to bed an hr later than normal - hope it's not gonna bite me in the butt in the morning...

Also I had a dream that I was at a block party (even though I live in an apartment irl) and @mamrotu73‌ and @Eireyes showed up and introduced themselves by their bump names. I was super freaked about how they knew me because I never post pics of myself. It was very strange...

  • I think the biggest question is why do your CDs smell?

it's not like a bad smell it's more just of a "wet" smell I guess. Like laundry left the the washer too long or wet dog. It's not strong but all my other laundry I use softener and on DS"s cloth I use dreft that make them smell good and on the CDs I use non scented stuff and I'm just not digging it
When I take mine out they don't smell like anything. Maybe I'm used to having laundry smell like nothing? I have used fabric softener in ages, or scented laundry detergent. But they don't smell like my wet dog. We did have a pond water smell issue earlier this year, but we've worked it out.

You could try adding vinegar to your rinse.  It won't add scent but will kill any funk smell.  I just add it to the fabric softener dispenser.

  • @vinny424 if they smell at all then there's probably an issue with your wash routine. They should smell like "nothing".

  • Currently trapped in hell. This kid refuses to sleep tonight and we have tried everything. Bouncing, rocking, swaddled, unswaddled, his bed, our bed, bottle, breast, diaper, patting, paci, mom, dad, white noise, lavender, teething oil, etcetera. No joke. He won't stay asleep longer than 5 min.

I told DH to just go to bed because he works in the morning. If it wouldn't emotionally scar this kid I would leave him on the floor in the spare room to CIO. I just don't know what else to do for him tonight.

I so want to try one of these, everything I have read about them is good - I actually struggled to find something bad! They have been used in asia for YEARS.

  • I use tide powder too and my CDs do smell like the tide powder. I have discovered I don't like that smell lol. The cd fb group I'm on says those tide scent things you can add to your laundry are ok, but I've never tried it. Considering it though.

@Jessieann1020‌ i don't think I've ever said the word carpet. It's all rugs. Either wall to wall rugs or area rugs.

I'm from NY 20 mins from the Canadian border sooo pretty far north
  • I'm in Maryland and we say carpet. Rugs are smaller and cover an area of the floor.

  • My H calls carpets rugs and he's from East coast whereas I call them carpets and I'm from the Midwest. I always thought it was strange that he called them "rugs."
  • I've always said "rugs" for everything- like "go vacuum the bedroom rug" even though it's wall to wall carpet. I'm from the Boston area.
  • Also from MD and say carpet!
