One of my BFs is 3 days overdue. We both have sons at the same preschool the same age. And now she is having a daughter like me and they will only be 4 months apart. I WANT THE BABY TO BE BORN ALREADY SO I CAN MEET MY DAUGHTER'S BEST FRIEND. If I am this antsy, she must be miserable I am trying to remind myself how annoying it was for people to text me "is she here yet?" all day long.
Are you in my head @poru because this is exactly my bff's life right now. I think they must have been due the same day. Come onnnnnn baby!!!

@Xxlilies make Cuban roast in the crockpot. Pork, black beans, red peppers, green onions, green salsa, coconut milk, sweet potatoes. I serve it over rice.
I throw a beef roast or pork roast or corned beef in the crock pot. Add broth, carrots, celery, garlic, and onions. I sometimes buy those tiny potatoes to throw in, too. Cook forever until the meat is falling apart. Salt and pepper to taste. Sometimes I'll add fresh rosemary. Serve as-is or over egg noodles.
Cora rolled back to belly and then belly to back this morning! I cheered so hard I woke up DH.
ETA: and she was in the 25th percentile for weight but the 99th percentile for height at her appointment today. My little string bean!
So last night, DS tells me that he needs to go potty. We run into the bathroom, he climbs up on the toilet, leans way forward and starts to pee. I hear splashing on the floor, the DS looks up at me with a big smile and urine dripping from his nose. Yes, my son sat on the toilet and peed in his own face!

Then I just top however I want. Usually I top it with sliced olives, pepperoni and bell pepper. Sunday night it was salsa, chicken cooked in taco seasoning, black beans and corn, with cheddar cheese.

If anyone wants a less than etsy quality nursing necklace, I've been making them (just for myself) and I'd be happy to make them for others! I just ask you to pay shipping and supplies. (Ya hear that bump gods? This is not a business nor is it a money making scheme- just a lady trying to help other ladies out.)
ETA: PM me if you do!

@pineconey I may take u up on it if mine comes out like crap!! I will just send you all my supplies hoping it works...I don't have a sewing machine so sewing by hand is not very effective!

@baileymama3 I used to hand stitch everything. I hated the idea of a sewing machine! I am glad I finally caved because it's helpful for bigger projects, but that thing and I have had some epic battles...

We're doing baby photos/family photos this weekend, and I have no idea what DH and I should wear... Thoughts? Suggestions? Normally I can figure this out, but I'm hitting a wall here... The photos will be indoors if that helps any...
I'm In! I added Starz to our cable just so I could watch this. I actually watched most of the first episode on Starz.com on Sunday and then our internet cut out.

I have my grandfathers old black singer. It's a beast. And it's limiting. You have to know how to sew to use it. It only goes forwards and back, doesn't do anything fancy like these modern machines, and making a buttonhole is a real process. But it's indestructible and it will sew heavier items that modern machines can't handle well.
They just published the photos from the big latch on. I feel very very down about my body right now. I really need to suck it up and despite the heat and smoke (yosimite fire) get out and exercise with the girls. Edit: https://visaliabirthnetwork.org/the-big-latch-on-2014/
I've always boycotted sewing too but I'm really starting to see that I'm going to need a machine. So I asked my hoarder MIL if she had any old machines she'd let me use/have. Turns out she has 7, and won't let me even borrow one! DH is hesitant to buy one because he's only seen his mom's example which is buy all of JoAnn's and half of a Michael's, then shove it all into a spare bedroom stacked to the cieling (literally) and never make one fucking thing. So if I did convince him I truly needed one, I'd have to sew all the things to prove it was necessary. And that sounds exhausting.
I'd say thrift shops, goodwill, or estate sales might be a good place to pick one up on the cheap.
@Eireyes I would stick with solid colors as well. A maxi dress for you, polo or solid tee for him. Or a cardigan with a fitted tank under for you. This was one of ours if it helps!
I have a sewing machine (hand-me-down gift) that I keep around just so I can feel like I *could* sew if I *wanted* to learn.
My go-to meal: simply prepared steak, shrimp skewers, or panko-crusted salmon with a roasted veggie, whatever's in season. Feels fancy, eats healthy, and dinner's on the table in 20 minutes.
But tonight I'm cooking Tri-tip. =P~

I'm about to freak out. The one day I get LO to nap at a decent time and by himself the effjng cleaners vacuum right outside my door and go bowling upstairs. blah! How annoying.
We rented a cabin at big sky. It had a hot tub on the deck. I can't wait to get the kids to bed so dh and I can sit in the hot tub and drink under the Montana stars. Gah. And zip lining. Definitely zip lining.
My view right now.. Thank god he is napping! (And um, yeah that would be my chest. Kiddo is covering up all the boob there so lets just pretend I'm wearing a sleeveless maxi )
I also really wanted to learn to sew- it was going to be my big project for 2013/2014 to learn to make a quit out of DD's baby clothes. I also wanted to learn to make clothing.
Part of my signature for work is even "aspiring modeste" (we are require to have a little tag line about ourselves in our email signatures)
Then I got pregnant and put that project off to the side (now that I think about it I'm not sure why pregnant= can't sew but at the time I guess it made sense.
I have been going back and forth about the nursing necklace. I love myself a good accessory and bonus points is safe for baby.
Oh, another go-to meal: I ask DH to make steak because he is awesome at that, and I throw a steamer bag of veggies in the microwave and make whatever side dish I have laying around... usually potatoes or rice.
Its amazing how properties differ from usa and Canada. Like, people have no problem spending 250k+ on a fixer upper in Canada, whereas in Montana that could build your dream home from scratch. I guess it depends on where you live, but Canada, shit. I don't think I could ever afford to move there. My dreams have shattered. Stupid hgtv.
We would get a package while I'm topless under a sleeping baby. There's no way I was getting the door. Thanks, mailman, for leaving it at the door and knocking super politely and not like the police. Some people don't suck.
