    I have to admit the beach wasn't the problem. It was allowing the state to pay for daycare while you weren't at work which is not allowed.
    And I will admit my mind is coming from where I live which is a good 4 hour drive to the beach. If you live there, no. Not a problem. For me the beach is a vacation not a day trip. But I still stand that if you are on government assistance the extras in life are not available to you! DH and I have full time jobs, college degrees, own our home.. We don't get to do extras if the money isn't there.

    How is that so wrong? Why the hell should the government pay for people to live the same life that I do when I busted my ass through college and now a career?

    My home does not stretch our budget. But when there are unexpected expenses or medical bills or things like that we don't get to do extra.

    14whitney that was on a different post. That was about my feelings toward my family. I obviously have feelings or I would not have felt the need to connect with alyssa32713 about her struggle with welfare. END OF STORY.....THIS IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.

    Pssst not everyone who is on welfare is some deadbeat.  Just because they are on welfare doesn't mean that they didn't bust their ass though college and currently their career (aka the military).

    Or do you not like the fact that your tax monies are going to the military either? LMK.
    Give me a break I never said anything about the military and proudly support the military. I live very close to a large base and have many, many friends and family who are active and retired military so don't even try to say that.

    I'll send you over my tax returns and let you know JUST how much of a deduction and credit I got last year. And still paid in after it was all said and done.

    Dude, that is in the terms that you agree to. It's illegal and the daycare can be fined for it as well.

    If you are not at work or school and your day care is funded by the state, you must get your children. It is fraudulent to not get them and a breech of the terms you agree too.

    Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

    I am not against assistance for those who need it and those examples would certainly count as actually needing it. But just because you decide to have multiple kids you can't afford (birth control is free at health dept) or not go to school or further your career is not the tax payers problem!

    Here in Maine they are not allowed to turn off your heat in the winter if you have under age children. My mom grew up on the border of Canada/ Maine and had a friend and her family freeze to death one winter night. I love this rule. I would hate to hear something like that happening up here today.
