Oh I'm sorry you must have skipped over this part...
And don't give me the 'most of them need' it...OK I'm not talking about most of them. I'm talking about the ones who are abusing the system.
How do you KNOW they're abusing it. Maybe their dad bought their car before they died. Maybe their 6 year old Coach purse was a graduation present. You know nothing.

Ok, I have heard some beaches do charge but why they fuck can't someone enjoy a day at the beach with their family? Just stay home and be a miserable bitch I guess.
People have to make at least 50K a year to deserve fun. Didn't you read the Cunts R Us handbook?
A MEN. I see comments like this all of the time. If you need help, fine. I understand that people fall on hard times. But like with this example, you know how the first baby came about, so how about preventing the 2nd one if you can't take care of the first one by yourself. I think there should be STRICT time limits on government aid so that people would bust ASS to not be dependent on them. Don't you think that if they knew in 12 months all aid would stop they would start doing everything under the sun to provide and get stead employment, save money, etc.? Yes they would!!
And the posting on facebook about it... where is people's shame? It has become to common place for people to be on some sort of government assistance and people think they are entitled to this help! This is what is so WRONG with this country! I am scared for my poor child(ren) to grow up in this crazy world full of crazy people!
I could go on for days. End rant!
And I'm scared for my children to grow up in a society with people who have so little compassion that they'd rather risk people starving than have a small portion of their income possibly go to someone "undeserving".
I have plenty of compassion for those who need it. Like I said I know people fall on hard times but unless you spend every waking second and every last penny trying to get back on your feet and take care of yourself and your family then.. NO. sorry, no compassion. As OP said this girl is on this assistance but going to the beach... and having ANOTHER baby? Why should I pay taxes to support someone like that?
NO BEACH FOR POOR PEOPLE.

If you are on government assistance you have no business being at the beach. That money could have paid your rent.
Wut.
Do beaches cost money where you live? Am I missing something?
I have to admit the beach wasn't the problem. It was allowing the state to pay for daycare while you weren't at work which is not allowed.
And I will admit my mind is coming from where I live which is a good 4 hour drive to the beach. If you live there, no. Not a problem. For me the beach is a vacation not a day trip. But I still stand that if you are on government assistance the extras in life are not available to you! DH and I have full time jobs, college degrees, own our home.. We don't get to do extras if the money isn't there.

How is that so wrong? Why the hell should the government pay for people to live the same life that I do when I busted my ass through college and now a career?

Hilarious. Because nobody forces you to purchase a house that will force you to stretch your budget. Take a walk on the other side of the street my friend. I'll happily eat my WIC food on your dime. SMH

You mean a home that is partially subsidized by federal, state and probably county governments and degrees that were also federally subsidized? How's that government assistance working out for you? Sure hope you don't have any trips to the beach planned since you've accepted tax dollars for your life.

14whitney that was on a different post. That was about my feelings toward my family. I obviously have feelings or I would not have felt the need to connect with alyssa32713 about her struggle with welfare. END OF STORY.....THIS IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.
How is that so wrong? Why the hell should the government pay for people to live the same life that I do when I busted my ass through college and now a career?
Pssst not everyone who is on welfare is some deadbeat. Just because they are on welfare doesn't mean that they didn't bust their ass though college and currently their career (aka the military).
Or do you not like the fact that your tax monies are going to the military either? LMK.
Give me a break I never said anything about the military and proudly support the military. I live very close to a large base and have many, many friends and family who are active and retired military so don't even try to say that.
My home does not stretch our budget. But when there are unexpected expenses or medical bills or things like that we don't get to do extra.
Fuck. I forgot that life can't be completely and totally planned. Honestly, we are struggling less right now with 2 kids, and one job than we were with 2 jobs and one kid. Having nothing sure makes it easier to cut the fat in your life. I can guarantee there are things you pay for on the regular that are extras that the rest of us don't get. You worry about you, and all your unplanned life events.
My home does not stretch our budget. But when there are unexpected expenses or medical bills or things like that we don't get to do extra.
You missed the point. Since you receive tax breaks for your home in the form of interest deductions and various other tax credits, you receive federal and state subsidies for your home. And in actuality those tax breaks are exponentially higher than any government funds someone gets from food stamps and WIC.
Learn how the government works before you start spouting off like a doofus.

I'll send you over my tax returns and let you know JUST how much of a deduction and credit I got last year. And still paid in after it was all said and done.
I have to admit the beach wasn't the problem. It was allowing the state to pay for daycare while you weren't at work which is not allowed.
Perhaps her boss didn't need her for the day? Are you even serious right now? Do you see the words you're typing, or nah?
Dude, that is in the terms that you agree to. It's illegal and the daycare can be fined for it as well.
If you are not at work or school and your day care is funded by the state, you must get your children. It is fraudulent to not get them and a breech of the terms you agree too.
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
Thank you.

@asws1208 I sure hope you never fall off your high horse, and land with the rest of us scum of the earth. Never will the day come when you need unemployment, because you suddenly lose your mega awesome job, or disability because you're in a vehicle accident that wasn't your fault but left you physically or mentally incapable of doing your mega awesome job, or heaven forbid, things get bad and you argue with your mortgage company for a year, trying to get a loan modification instead of facing foreclosure. Because the world always looks so much smaller when you've never seen the bottom.
Lets take a poll on who here is a liberal judgmental ignorant twat and is on government assistanceutterly clueless about how the world works. Going to guess I am the only one who does not fit into either of those.
FTFY.

WELL GOOD FOR FUCKING YOU. Hope you know how LUCKY you are to be able to say that. Most people on assistance would love to be able to say that.

I am not against assistance for those who need it and those examples would certainly count as actually needing it. But just because you decide to have multiple kids you can't afford (birth control is free at health dept) or not go to school or further your career is not the tax payers problem!
How is that so wrong? Why the hell should the government pay for people to live the same life that I do when I busted my ass through college and now a career?
Not everyone can go to college. You're closed minded and privileged. GTFO of here.

In my state yes they can good grades in high school equals tuition paid!
Tuition. Often not room and board or food or books. And even that's assuming the family can make do w/o the child working - often families depend on their kids to get a job ASAP as a teen/young adult just to keep food on the table for siblings - so going off to college can't happen.
Are you really this utterly clueless how hard it is for millions of Americans?

It's interesting to me that I work with many families on assistance, and they are all super fucking poor with no luxuries. One family is literally selling off everything in their tiny trailer, piece by piece, so they have gas money to take the mother to her medical appointments because she has a brain tumor.
Things were bad before, but now their situation is pretty fucking bleak. Are some of their problems self inflicted? Sure, but you sometimes see that with people who have untreated mental illnesses.
If you have never lived a life like that or been very close to it, you don't know what what you are talking about and should just shut your stupid mouth.
This is terrible for that family. It is sad that there are situations like this out there.
Here in Maine they are not allowed to turn off your heat in the winter if you have under age children. My mom grew up on the border of Canada/ Maine and had a friend and her family freeze to death one winter night. I love this rule. I would hate to hear something like that happening up here today.
