I'm like, giddy over here. All through high school I had a very best friend and in college we had a falling out and then grew apart. Before Aiden was born we reconnected on a superficial level, like FB and xmas cards and I've seen her a couple times. I do miss her but we've been busy with kids and work and all that but just this week we reconnected with a plan to take all our kids out next week so that made me happy and then I got a text from her, inviting me over for girls night with her friends on Friday night. It seems like our friendship may be finding a new groove :-D
I think steam came out of my ears. These women are so sheltered. You don't need feminism because your boyfriend is nice to you. Oh honey. Edit I had stupid, but that isn't nice.
Word. I want to start responding to all of them.
"I don't need feminism because equal pay for equal work is overrated."
"I don't need feminism because glass ceilings are pretty!"
"I don't need feminism because it's fun to turn over control of my reproductive health to old men."
True story, DH is so paranoid about strangers knowing our kids' names that he won't allow monogrammed clothing. We had a "Graham" hoodie we got as a gift and he won't let him out of the house in it. He will however let him wear tee-shirts from his childhood that have Mikey on it to really screw with people. G is so chatty though if a stranger came up to him and said, "would you like candy Mikey?" he would probably say, "my name's not Mikey, it's Graham, and I would love some candy!" The no stranger danger thing is a little scary, he's too much like mommy.
Benjamin fell asleep in the car for the last 5 minutes home from library story time. So now he thinks he doesn't need to nap. He's also figured out how to open lever-handle doors.
Welcome to day 2 of no naps. Now we're in phase "I want to cuddle. No I don't! Why are you trying to put me to sleep, woman?!"
Yesterday we put an offer on a couple acres to build our future home. We have heard nothing back no counter offer or anything the anticipation is killing me. [-O<

Jo, I like you, we need to get you a name with less or no numbers
Me and LO went to eat with my mom at Jason's deli for lunch it was a disaster. LO did the windshield wiper and kept swiping all the food off his tray. Then he proceeded to rub all the food from his hand in his eyes and hair. Whew I'm exhausted.

Our LO's are at that age where having them eat in public is a nightmare. With Bradley we stayed at home until he was 2...
Ok so for the girls night I need to bring either an appetizer or a dessert but it's only 3, max 4 people. Suggestions??
For a girls night? Cheese platter with grapes, apples, nuts, and crackers to pair with wine? Or a fancy chocolate box? I don't know if you want to make stuff or buy

She's giving me zero direction so I"m afraid one of the other girls is bringing the obvious stuff lol I'd prefer to buy and it needs to transport well for an hour drive. I'm considering hitting up the bakery.

I think bakery is a good idea, and bring wine (or booze if that's their thing) just in case you miss the mark!
It wasn't packed but there were a good amount of people. So @wasnotwas you just eat at home ALL the time?!?! Well guess we will be saving more money for our future home.
Now I want to go change my sn, but I have not idea what to change it to. This is actually DH's sn for everything, but my typical sn includes my name. I have no creativity when it comes to these things.

Either we get take out or only go out for breakfast (where we can go nice and early). I feel like if they can't act right at home they aren't going in public...
@HoneyB1993, your only 21 ?!? I'm so jealous. 1993 should have been a good indicator but hearing 21 is totally different. You should definitely not have to order your own cake do you need me to call your DH?
@Bleachy14 it's fairly recent and they only rolled it out to TK and not TB (yet). Parenting had a field day about a month ago changing names.
Fascinating! I had no idea. I just wish if you changed your SN, your old posts under your old SN didn't still show up under the old SN. Or, maybe I just wish you could delete posts... haha..
If that's what you want just request a deactivation and start a new account. You'll look like a total newb though with zero post count
@honeyb1993 that's bologna. My MIL bought a cake for me for my birthday that was my husband's favorite flavor..I didn't eat a bite! I would have murdered H if he proposed me calling to order my own cake! It's not like you are asking for a homemade cake. Calling and ordering something is no easier for you than it is for H.
I just got my car washed for the first time in over a year. How crazy. I need to talk to my DH about stepping up an taking care of that for me. It was never an issue before having KJ but now bringing a kid to a car wash is just not ideal and my free time is limited.
I've been on a strict diet since last Friday, and I think it's been going really well. Then my dad babysits last night and leaves beer and little debbies in my house. Someone come save me from myself.

@majwv8 1. You should make him do it. 2. Good for you for doing it now. My MIL has been cleaning out FILs office stuff, which they've moved at least 3 times. He has that sort of crap from 30 years ago! He also isn't really helping.
I always give DD something to eat first if we are going to a restaurant. That way I can share whatever we are ordering and not worry about ordering her own meal which she might refuse to eat.
Is it wrong that having a 21 year old on the board didn't phase me because I don't think of the rest of us as being that much older BUT the idea that people were actually born in 1993 wigged me out lol
I was thinking of making my new SN bipolarbear, its the nickname I gave DD for when she going from cranky to laughing and back (DH gave her the nn bear cub so I came up with bi-polar bear). I'm not sure if I'm crossing a line. Is it insensitive/making light of real mental health problems? Am I a complete douche for even thinking about using that as my sn?
We are going on vacation with my husband's family next week and I'm worried about eating out and dinners at the house. His family tends to eat really late, like 8 or 9 (drives me crazy even before kids). One of his cousins is really strict about her kids schedule so I'm hoping that because of them and not having as many people this year it won't be that bad. My husband isn't concerned about this and doesn't think it's a big deal so I'll let him deal with potential meltdowns. I'm not super rigid about our schedule but I'm realistic and know that having her in a restaurant at 8 or 9 is not a good idea.
@sctiger We had this exact discussion when Colton was maybe 4 months or so. We were going down to FL for a sister in law's baby shower along with his parents. They made a reservation for dinner at 8pm (they normally eat late too). I voiced my concerns to my husband, he said he didn't want to be "one of those parents" who are soooo rigid with their schedule. We fought and he was being stubborn. I said, at least, let's try this out before we go then. We went to a local loud, kid friendly Mexican restaurant at 8pm. He had a MAJOR meltdown because it was way past his bedtime (then he was going to bed at like 630-7pm). After that night, he texted his brother, told him to count us out for the 8pm dinner reservation and the family decided to eat at home so that we could put him to bed first.
ETA: basically we tested it out before going to FL. Couldn't tell if that was clear.
I haaaaate some of my co-workers today. Which is unusual because I mostly love them. But there are a couple of them today who are annoying the fuck out of me.
