Our campus at work is undergoing a lot of construction so on different days we have at least one of our many parking lots shut down.  Mind you, they are right next to each other so if the one someone uses normally because it's closest to the door near their work area is closed, they can park in the one next to it.  The company has security driving around in little golf carts offering people RIDES TO THE DOOR.  Now, I know that there are people who may have a physical limitation and the extra walking could be tough but you'd be amazed how many people seem to accept these rides and I don't care what anyone says - statistically they can't all physically need it lol  I paced it out today and my walk from my car (one lot over from normal) to the door was 175 steps and I have a mega short stride so it's less for most people.  Every day I politely decline the ride as I watch people pile on the cart.  smh

He fell out of bed at around 1 and started throwing up at 4 so I immediately thought it was a concussion, until I started throwing up too...could be anything really. We both felt better once it was out so it was probably food related. H doesn't get home until Saturday night! If he send me one more pic he might come home to an empty house

@elmoali my office has a golf cart thing that drives around daily to give rides from the parking deck. It's not that far but I guess it keeps someone employed...

Probably like 20 min, because he would throw up and then want to close his eyes and lay down...I was like "nooo you stay awake!!!" and I had to do it all in the dark because I thought it was a friggin concussion!! Poor guy woke up and said "mommy my tummy really hurts, gimme a bucket"

But he seemed fine when he woke up, I told daycare not to give him milk today and I am fully expecting a call at some point

Did you guys hear that George R. R. Martin won't be writing an episode next season (he usually does one episode per season and it's usually the best one) so that he can finish the books? We are quickly approaching the end of what he's written. Next season will go into the 4th and 5th books...yikes!

I have a "friend" on FB (I was connected to her to help with something once so she's not really a friend, just someone I know, kwim?).  Her 5 year old was admitted to the hospital yesterday with some scary ass symptoms so I messaged her just offering support and she starts going on and on about how horrible the hospital is being to her and how they've put an ankle monitor on the child so that she can't legally take her out.  I didn't know what to make of that and then she starts in on anti-vax stuff.  The hospital is pushing that discussion (I honestly don't know if what she has is anything to do with vaccines or not) and this mother refuses to discuss it with them saying they're poison and go against scripture.  I had to be like "Well I hope she's able to come home soon" because WTF am I going to say?

LO and I are finally going to try the story time at the library he's not going to listen but we are going stir crazy in this house.

Update on the land we were trying to buy: we were told nothing in the neighborhood we were looking in was in the 100 year floodplain. After the new assessment small parts of it were including the 2 acres we almost bought. I'm so glad my husband researched that before we made a big mistake. So now we are still looking blah!

So far they say that poor little girl has strep, impetigo, a UTI, fever blisters, dehydration and high levels of keytones in her urine and they're concerned about her kidney function.  Something seems way off to me that a kid can get that sick all at once.

Is it standard for daycares to offer an alternative milk? I've worked in two and haven't heard of this. Just Curious. They definitely should have it in stock if they have kids that drink it. Totally unacceptable.

I have my orientation for my new job on Saturday from 12-2. My cousins lo's 1st bday party is also Saturday from 12-3. I feel bad that I'm going to miss most of it but I really need to get back to work for my sanity! I plan on going right after I'm done with my orientation and Grayson is going over with my momma so he'll still get to go and have fun!

Our daycare only provides snacks. We bring our own milk, water, and lunch. That's really inappropriate if the expectation is that they provide it, though!

LO goes through phases of being completely uninterested in toys, and then back to loving them the next week (or day, or hour, whatever).

I'd say the proper response on the part of YH would have been to put it up in storage for a little while.

This is not something I'd say would be appropriate in 99.999% of cases, but in this case, I think the hospital would be in the right morally and ethically if they obtained a court order.  This mother can't be entrusted with the care of her child.  It's fine if she holds those particular beliefs, but her child is too young to consent to that, and someone needs to look out for the child's best interest. Poor thing.

@musicalsilver‌ It was me! We love it. Sometimes it feels small for my very tall almost 3yo but he's never complained. Lots of space behind the seats for my diaper bag and rides smoothly.

The price certainly helps in narrowing down the model.

I found an InStep 2-seater on craigslist for $30 that looks to be in decent condition ... I think I'm going to try that out first to see if I want to invest more $$$$.

@mcbush - I had read some not-so-glowing reviews ... but for $30, I'm having a hard time passing it up.

And I am just a casual rider now (though I aspire to get back to triathlon-ing).  I also aspire to get DH more involved and make it more of a regular thing, but I have to actually get us out there first to justify to him (and myself, and our bank account) that I should spend 10x that on nice trailer.

Thanks for the heads up though!
