I need sleep. DH was unable to put ds to sleep last night and interrupted my shower 3 times. I took ds and he fell asleep immediately. Tried to wake DH up twice to feed DS and he wouldn't wake up. I just want a freaking break.
I'm randomly adding people on Facebook, so if you get a random friend invite from a blond lady holding a baby, two things (edited for three): 1) Blame Facebook for suggesting I add you 2) Totes feel free to ignore me - ain't no shame! 3) I can't imagine people clamoring for me to add them, but if for some reason you feel the need to, let me know! :P
@MrsStanton87 I'm sorry. My DS has had a few days/nights like that in his time as well and it's incredibly frustrating to say the least... I hope both of you get some sleep soon.
ETA: Have you tried getting him to fall asleep on his belly? If gas is the issue sometimes that helps. Once he's completely out you should be able to flip him onto his back without waking him.
Thank you i hope it gets better for you too! How do people get their baby to sleep on their belly?
I usually get him to settle down on me first then I put him on his belly and pat his butt until he falls asleep. Usually doesn't take too long.
Turns out the secret to nap success for our kid at daycare and home is a minimal cry-it-out in the p&p and then napping for 3+ hrs. He'll squawk a few minutes and wind down, Nom his hands, and pass out. This is a game-changer, folks. If he starts to wind up instead of down I take him out, calm him down, and try again later. All this time I've been rocking him and swinging and bouncing him and I could've just put him freakiing down and let him fuss himself to sleep!!!
So I'm using this naptime to make 2 strawberry rhubarb pies for MIL's bday. Pics to follow.

I posted a q on the cd board. If anyone CDs can you pop over and take a look??
I don't have a HE machine but here's what we do: first I run a full cold cycle to get all the poo and pee rinsed through. Then I do a rinse cycle with 1scoop (1tbs) funk rock. This is followed by a hot/cold cycle with extra rinse and 2scoops rockin'green. I dry the inserts and prefolds in the dryer with the girls other cloths. Shells and covers get hung on the line.
Andplusalso, any of you with toddlers need to take them to a paint your own pottery place! Dd had a blast yesterday painting monsters for grandma's garden. I had a ton of fun too. They had a huge selection of stuff to choose from, too. I think I talked it up enough that DH agreed to take dd there to make me a bday mug! Score!

This is what I do if I'm desperate for some sleep and nothing else seems to be working. I don't let him truly cry it out because he's far too young for that, but I've found that if I let him fuss for a couple of minutes instead of running to him right away he seems more responsive to the comforting.
March 2017 September Siggy Challenge: Favorite Fall Things
I'm currently staying at my parents while Josh is in training at Ft Polk until August 10th. We've been here for two weeks already and I'm thinking it's time for us to go. I was going to stay the whole time but I don't think I can take much more of my moms constant bitching.
Should I go back and just deal or should I just suck it up and accept the "help"? That is the question.
Is it that bad that I call my child "bean" every now and then?! The nickname stuck after his first ultrasound and I tend to call him that now. My MIL mentioned that I should be calling him by his real name so he won't get confused...and then she goes to my mom and says she's "concerned". Like really........he's 3 months. I had about a billion nicknames that my family called me when I was little.
Thoughts?

@justxlaugh, I think it's fine to have a nickname. I started calling my dd "Chicken" when she was born and still do. Of course she knows her real name too. And I'm the only one who calls her Chick anymore. She's 3. I hope I will still be calling her my chick on her wedding day.

@mamrotu73 Please do delete my info, as I don't know I would be allowed to come back even if I wanted to. I like most of the people there, but if a few don't want me, then I don't want want to be there.

Sullivan is on a poop strike. Mommas who have had poo problems, at what point did you start to worry and consider intervention? It's been a little over 24 hours. I'm not overly concerned yet but should I be?
Can people tell me when they are requesting to follow me on IG? I would love to add you, but only you. I don't recognize names and pictures sometimes. I feel like the pics with mom and baby is safe, but I don't want to follow rando's pictures...
@Eireyes I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!
I am super excited for the huge A14 meet up, I can't wait to see pictures!!

My kids in for an identity crisis too then. We call her lady bug, baber, peanut, lovely, stinker, a whole host of names other than Amelia. My sister has called me "bub" since before I can remember and I still know my real name. Tell her to chill...

I wouldn't be concerned. My LO has only ever pooped every 4-5 days, even when he was a few weeks old. If he goes two days in a row, we get really excited! Sometimes if he really is straining, I'll take a rectal temp. That usually kicks it in gear.
@mamrotu73 can you erase my info too? I apparently just got kicked out too. Lol
I just got a message from Madison (who I think is mamamadi?) about the outfit exchange. I didn't even realize how all of this is messing that up. She said she has no idea what's going on though. But I sayyy we should so another exchange here.

A pregnant friend on FB just posted that she won't let her child have ANY screentime until child is 5. I can't wait to see how long that lasts! I'll refrain from posting a just you wait though.
I visited a family friend last night and when I mentioned tv being over stimulating and that I don't like LO watching it yet she responded "oh 'they' say a lot of things, my kids loved tv and they turned out fine. Don't listen to everything you hear."
So I chose not to listen to her. Haha Meanwhile her grand kids are glued to iPads which I dread that happening especially because I can barely put my phone down. Time for an intervention.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
The nickname thing made me laugh as soon as I read it because my first thought was, if that's true then poor @mamrotu73 little Mrs Nesbit is going to be so confused
@J&NL how much help do you have if you go home? Any close friends to help you keep your sanity? I've been with my parents since the end of April and will be here until Sept while DH finishes school. I would go home in a heartbeat right now but I literally have no home. My stuff is in storage. However I would have a really great group of church friends to help me.
@skiing72 definitely understand the avoidance of screen time now! I think it is almost impossible to completely avoid till age 5. There is one thing I have learned is that children watch what you do and want to do the same. So if you don't want a child using screens, you can't use screens around them a lot either.
It kills me because she's reaching for my phone already and was mesmerized by an iPad. So I'm going to start leaving my phone in a different room and checking once in a while from now on.

I pretty much wouldn't have any help. I have a few friends that say they would hangout but I doubt it. I mean, I've done it before but only for a few days. I still have almost a full two weeks left at best. That's IF he comes home when he said but with the army you never know.
I just skimmed 200 posts. we are attempting to head out for the day but someone is being crazy. Not naming names, but he's currently hugging my boob...

Confession: it's already reeling a little bit.
At the hair studio waiting for my hair cut and the dude is running about 30 minutes behind. Dare I tell hubster or let him suffer with a fussy baby?

@j&nl if I were you, I would leave if you're unhappy. It's much harder to deal with daily life and challenges if you're unhappy.
