  • @MrsStanton87 yes some people do pay that for diapers. I have never.

@BiggerinRealLife‌ yes, check your spam box. There's like 300 orders ahead of mine so I'm guessing I'll get my anniversary present at x-mas?

  • After three nights of basically no sleep she's either given up or we found the sweet spot. Little girl passed out like this for two and half hours after side nursing and now she's out like this in the bassinet. Side sleeping = okay? (Note she's not surrounded by pillows and blankies in her bassinet but she is supported by some long rice bags)

  • Tonight is phase 1 of transitioning LO to his crib! We are moving his rock n play into his room. I'm a nervous wreck! Tell me I'm being silly, and that he'll be fine :(( I start back to school in 3 weeks so I figure this is as good a time as any!
Aw nothing to be worried about! I'm sure you'll have a sleepless night or two, peeking in every now and then but I'm sure you'll both do great. If it's any consolation, I transitioned DS into his crib on night TWO! Ahaha I guess that's not a transition so much as an eviction. But he did absolutely fine and had been in his own room since then. Good luck!

Ugh it's been 45 minutes, and he's already been up twice.

We get that in the middle of summer... I was 6-8 months pregnant in that heat! Though to be fair we don't get much hotter than that...

You're that New Zealander... Just realized we are in different hemispheres...was wondering where you could possibly be that it "wasn't summer". Silly me. PP brain?

What are you implying? Do you have a problem with kiwis? (people, not the fruit, though if you have a problem with the fruit I don't know if we can still be friends...) lol :P
Dont worry, I'll forgive you, just this once though!

  • Hi RTT! We had a super busy weekend and Monday. Plus A is not sleeping well at all. Up every hour last night. I think I spent most of the night crying. :( tonight she has been asleep for 2 hours, but I can't sleep at all! I miss sleep so much! Someone tell me I will sleep again at one point in the near future. Please?

When I was a kid we had neighbors that were from Auckland. They had the same baby monitor as us. We would turn it on an listen to them and make fun of their accents. But I like kiwis, even though I'm allergic I still eat them.

Oh Aucklanders... well now I understand!! :P

Allergic to kiwis, man that sucks! BTW I love how Americans just call them "Kiwis". We always say "Kiwi fruit" similar but different right!

  • @kseccomb17‌ I have been lurking at work today, but wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you today.  I'm sorry that you're having a hard time right now, but I think you're incredibly strong.  I'm happy to hear that your getting help.

  • @Avidkeo good to "see" you.  Jessica is so cute!  I love the kiwis, both the people and the fruit,  I have a real problem with the birds though.  What are they trying to hide by only coming out a night?  ;)

  • The measuring tape is not my friend. I am going on an uber strict diet tomorrow morning. DH wanted "sexy" pictures for anniversary. Unfortunately all I want to do is ugly cry now. So I measured myself and put the data into myfitnesspal. And it's not good.
  • I feeling really sad tonight. DH is being a big jerk, he came home from work in a bad mood and was taking it out on me. I miss my family and wish they lived close and I had their support. The internet isn't working (except on my cellphone) and I just want to zone out and watch Orange is the New Black and eat popsicles. I love LO but being a SAHM is hard. I'm sure that working is hard(er) and many moms wish they could SAH, but I live in the boonies and I'm just fucking lonely and sad and don't have working out as an emotional outlet anymore.

Hugs! Hopefully YH will realize his jerkiness is unacceptable and be super helpful tomorrow. Maybe he can watch LO so you can get out for a bit? Maybe go for a walk/run so you feel like you are working out a bit?

  • I'm sorry that your having a hard time @knotty-girl.  Being a SAHM is hard and can be very lonely.  It is even harder if you aren't getting the support you need from your DH.  Are there any hobbies you can do while your LO is napping?

  • Why does it always take 30 mins - an hour to put ds back down? Now I'm wise awake and eating ice cream out of the tub. :|

I feel the same way. I really miss working out. It's always been an outlet for me and now I'm trying to figure out how to fulfill that need now that Merri is here. I'm gonna try to run in the morning before hubster goes to work. I could also take her out in the stroller. Odd to say but that just seems like so much work. I want to just run by myself.

I'm sorry DH was a butt face to you. And I'm super sorry the internet isn't working. Frustrations pile up and I know it's hard to feel good. I think @MrsStanton87‌ has the right idea of looking at pictures as a nice reminder of why we are all doing this baby-raising business.

I know you're not keen on the new fit mama thread (I'm weary of it too for the same reasons -- don't want it to be a trigger) but there were some good suggestions on figuring out when to get some exercise in.

    Hang in there knotty!!

    Apparently I need to sleep more than I thought! 8-}

  • Also knotty, I keep in mind that it's only been 13 weeks. That's it. We We're pregnant for 40 (give or take). 13 weeks is still such a small time frame in the big picture. Adjusting to being a SAHM when you've always been working isn't going to happen over night...or even over three months. Give yourself compassion. You're doing awesome and you made a huuuuge life change. It takes time to figure out how to deal with it and feel about it and that's TOTALLY okay. I also hope you got your Popsicles!!
This is so true, man just think how we were after 13 weeks of pregnancy... Hugs Knotty!

Awww loving all the kiwi loving going on! They defnitiely are the superior flightless bird!
Funny story, we did a night tour of a wild life sanctuary in Wellington where you get to see Kiwi in their natural habitat. You could take pics but you had to make sure your camera was switched to night mode.

So after changing the settings I'm taking pics of the first Kiwi we saw who was feeding. I wasn't getting very good pics, so I tried changing the shutter speed to try get a better pic, but it accidentally turned on the flash! The next picture I took lit up the place so brightly, it scared the daylingts out of me! Fortunately the Kiwi had its head in a hole and didn't notice the flash went off! needless to say the other tourists were not happy with me, but I survived because I didn't scare away the kiwi.

Morel of the story: to get a good pic of a kiwi, make sure its head is in a hole! Sadly I cant find the pic!

  • It is raining so hard right now. Perfect sleeping conditions except I'm not sleeping.. Boo! Oh well. Sullivan slept for an 8 hour stretch and I fell asleep within an hour of him so I should not complain.

Hugs to @kseccomb17‌ and @knotty-girl‌. This shiz is hard.
  • 2 hours of sleep for this mama last night. I can't wait until this gets better. I feel like I've been hit by a bus and I keep snapping at DH. He doesn't get why I'm 'so tired'. I told him he can have baby duty all weekend and see how it is. Knowing my luck, DS would sleep all night for him.

  • I just gotta say I'm really proud of everyone going through the sleep transition. Kudos to you who have already done it successfully (y'all were the straight a students, yeah? That's what I get for getting one B...) and may patience be with all those doing it now. Aaaand for those of you who are like me and still not there yet, we can do it!!!
