My H comes home at 2am last night and watches the sleeping baby while I took a quick shower.. I got out and of course the baby wakes up and he is quick to "need" a shower.. By the time he is out of the shower the baby is just about asleep and he goes "okay Ill take over" I looked that the clock and it was nearly 4am and he goes to bed at 5am.. Yeaaahhh. Thanks but no thanks.. I told him I am done with 1 kid (he wants more) but no. He doesnt even help take care of this one im not bringing more in this world to parent on my own. I have a feeling as she gets a little bit older and starts to know who people are she isnt going to want anything to do with him and only want me. So much for a "Daddys girl"
My DH is the heaviest sleeper I've ever met. I never realized how bad it was until we had LO. He can sleep right through her screaming bloody murder which is great for him but sucks for me and frankly a little scary. One night he fell asleep in her room trying to get her to go to sleep and I woke up to her screaming and him fast asleep in the glider right next to the crib. He wants to help but it's easier for me to get her since it takes forever to wake him up and I'm scared he'll fall asleep taking care of her and not wake up when she cries.
Exactly the same here. Not worth the effort. Would fall asleep feeding her and not hear her choking last time I asked for help. He does weekends after 6 am
@lest12 LO kept rooting to feed then crying but had already spent over an hour and a half draining my breasts. DH did the happiest baby on the block things and so far it is working, she is out. Attempt it?
Pacifier, turned sideways facing out for vigorous movement, swaddled, loud white noise on iPhone.
I'm having a hard night (confused combining breast milk to freeze, 1 bag leaked all over freezer, looked like I had a lot but it's really 2 small 2 ounce bags now) and he said he would bring her to me to eat if she wakes up and to catch some sleep.
Trying to get Max to sleep and he's fighting it. Blows out his diaper and instantly calms down and goes to sleep. Damnit now I have to go change him and hope he falls back to sleep!
It's gonna be a late night! H and I went to a wine party (it was much needed grown up time!) and left C with my niece and nephew. H doesn't drink wine so he didn't realize how fast it hits and that the hangover comes immediately.
C was over fed and has been sleeping for a couple hours. He should've been awake an hour ago for his feeding and then we could've gone to bed. H started throwing up as soon as we got home. Aye aye aye.
Baby is up wanting to be fed again. Bottle of bm leaks for some reason all over as i feed my now screaming child. So now i have bm all over my nightgown, and self. And since lo just tricked me into being asleep 20 minutes earlier, i thought it safe to shower. Waste of a bottle. Waste of a shower.
And my plan of her taking the bottle, and easing into sleep is an epic fail.
I've been so damn tired lately, and B is a horribly lazy eater, so we decided that DH would give him formula tonight and I'd pump, in hopes that I'd be able to get a bit more sleep. Well B was just crying, so DH got the formula and I came downstairs to pump. Two minutes after I got myself hooked up, DH came back downstairs with the formula. Apparently, B decided to go back to sleep. Ugh!
Also, I HATE pumping. I really don't know how EP moms do it!
Tell me how this works. Due to reasons we can't control at this time we all have to sleep in the basement. It's one big room. All have own beds. But now SO is snoring so loud. My 10 & 14 year old step daughter decided to sleep together and now are fighting in their sleep. Yes yelling at each other. Even yelling at my 5 year old sd who is across the room sound asleep. My LO is out but I can't sleep cuz of the noise. I would go sleep on the couch but SO would never hear LO. Even though she sleeps in a couple sleeper by the bed. Think I'm taking LO upstairs with my pump and getting some sleep.
I dreamed about sore boobs and needing to pump. So weird. I couldn't sleep and LO was fussing in his sleep at 4 am so I woke him up to feed since my boobs were hurting. I feel bad waking him since he STTN 3x this week but my boobs are not used to it!
Is it possible for babies to be afraid of the dark? LO and I are having a rough night and I realized at about 11:30 that she would start fussing as soon as I turn the light off. Usually, I put her in her crib, then sit and read or bump for a few minutes to make sure she stays asleep, then turn the light off and go to bed. Lately, she's slept great until that moment I turn the light off.
On the topic of DH... I let him sleep through our MOTNFs. LO does best when I feed her in the chair beside the crib. But, it's rough watching him and the dogs sleep, especially on the nights Isabel fights sleep. I wish he did more diaper changes at least...

I get annoyed listening to the sound of DH snoring while I'm doing the midnight feeds. Even more annoying when he complains of being tired during the day. I don't make an argument out of it. I know there's not much he could do without boobs, and he's great during day with diaper changes and interacting ....so I guess I shouldn't complain.
We just fed LO 4oz and changed him and tried to our him down again. More hunger cues, I tried the wubbanub but it was clear he was still hungry. He are 2 more ounces. 6oz total, holy hell that is a lot. I hope this isn't a new trend. He has been eating more ever since his last growth spurt.

I am the same way. When I'm trying to stay up until 10 or so to feed LO & he's falling asleep on the couch it makes me want to punch him. I'm sorry you're tired from sleeping for 7 straight hours. Oh, you got up at 5:30? I'm sorry. I woke up at 3:30 to feed our son & have been awake since bc he wouldn't oh back to sleep. And we went to bed at the same exact time, plus I was up for an hour to feed LO before I was up for the day at 3:30. So tell me again, how tired are you?
My DH complains about being tired, too. It's kind of the worst joke ever. Really? Does it make you tired listening to me get in and out of bed 5 times a night? Is that what does it? Husbands can be more challenging than newborns, hands down.
Every time their age doubles there is a growth spurt. 3, 6, 12 weeks (3 months), 6 months, 1 year...
Ugh, mine is 8 weeks and I feel like she's been in a growth spurt since week 3. Week 6 - 7 weren't so bad but this week, and especially the last 2 days. She's starting to take a bit more each feeding but does it over a long period so it's like she's always eating or fussing. She can do longer stretches in between but all of the sudden she wants to do them during the day and do the 2-3 hour ones at night. Please baby stop this. Mama is exhausted and daddy is out of town for 2 weeks
I started using Colief drops at his last feed. Feeding him now and my goodness are how farts stinkier than normal. Also easier and happier than normal. I'm hoping its all related and I'll have a happier, and apparently stinkier, baby.
Ok...get this: I think it was kellymom that said the growth spurts could fall on different weeks. My 3 week was at 4. Last night she cluster fed or was just constantly hungry and we are at 5.5 weeks.
So, I was exhausted and constantly feeding her because that was all she wanted and finally she seemed to fall asleep so I left her in the living room swaddled in the mamaroo with DH around 11pmish.
Turns out he wanted me to get rest, so he defrosted about three ounces and gave her that when she woke at 12:30ish.
It's 2:50 now, I just fed her and she pulled off after only barely 15 minutes, and only one boob! Before the bottle she was on my boobs for 30 minutes plus! (Each boob!)
Was I just not filling her up and needing time to refill?! Is it possible my milk was faster because I slept and missed a feeding? She is fast asleep on my chest (holding her upright) and I just can't believe it.
Remind me again why I gave DH the early MOTN feeding when she's easy to put immediately back to sleep? Cause now it's 4:21am and I'm sitting here with a white noise app on repeat hoping she'll eventually stop grunting and whining so I can go pump for another 20 minutes before I can actually go back to sleep. Sigh.
K slept from 8-12. I was on a deadline for a project so DH and I are still up. He woke up, ate, went back to sleep, pooped his pants twice, spit up almost everything he ate, awake, now eating again. Oh and his size one diapers are almost too small so we bought size two. Where has my little tiny baby gone?

My LO peed out of her diaper, spit up on my sheets and again on me just now (a ton) and is eating again too. So this is normal?
@BMaidPlanner colowf drops are supposed to help with colic, under the assumption that nearly half of colic cases are because baby has a hard time digesting lactose. Lactose is in your milk whether you eat dairy or not. The cief drops contain am enzyme to help the baby digest the lactose. It's our first night, and I'm not even sure he has colic, but he's so unhappy when he's awake and it kills me.
C was up an hour after we went to bed and now just two hours later. If H didn't give him his full bottle (sometimes C will appear to be done but just needs a good burp) I'm going to be mad! He's been sleeping 5 hour stretches.
So LO does great with her bedtime routine and gives us anywhere from 4-7 hours in the first stretch, then she eats a ton and gets sleepy, but her second half of the night is all grunting and squirming... So I don't get any sleep the second part of the night. I know I shouldn't complain because I get a good amount of sleep the first part of the night... But 4 am is too damn early to be up for the day...

He's quiet and not screaming, at least, but I've been trying to put him down for a few hours now, and he just stares at me.
I want to go to sleep *cries*

I should stop bumping now...
Hope you are catching some sleep!
