char lie had a great feed from just past 8 until 9. I kept him upright until 9;30 and went straight to bed. He was up at 1:30 for an hour and then again at 4:30 and 6:15. The last three feeds were not full feeds and he tore up my nipples. I am exhausted and my nips hurt.
So my LO has started sleeping through yet night. How do u tell your boobs to slow down now ? ]
They will. Don't pump, if you feel engorged use cold cabbage leaves or cold compresses on them. All supply and demand so after a few nights of no demand it will be better. Hope babe continues to sleep well for you and your bobbies take the hint soon!
How is it 3:30 am and there is only one new post in this thread? What is a girl supposed to read during the motn? I am surviving my first night without DH and we are staying in a hotel. I managed to get LO changed at 3 am with minimal noise. I hope the people in the room next to me appreciate it!
Charlie has spent five minutes rocking the couch with his pooping. Wasn't uncomfortable, just a lot in there I guess. Cloth diapers ftw because as much as this kid poops, not one blow out yet!
So tired. Wasnt able to sleep when LO did earlier because my grandma is here... Its now 1am trying to get this girl in a deep sleep (not working) so that I can get a good sleep before traveling tomorrow for a funeral.
pretty sure B was going to give me another long stretch tonight until DH came home from work and woke him up. we have now been up every two and a half hours while DH lays there constantly clearing his throat and coughing and asking me why I'm mad. it's like he wants me to punch him. I will not hit DH I will not hit DH.....
LO is four and a half weeks old and this is the least sleep DH and I have gotten since she's been home. Grand total of four hours so far. And DH is going to a rock show this evening and won't be back until late. I better be able to nap today.
@stephross88 I hate that. H makes so much noise all the time! I tell him if he wakes them, he takes them.
I'm an idiot. I put W down at 9:30 and stayed up until 11:30. I figured I would get an hour of sleep and then she would wake up around 12:30 like she has been doing. Nope. She slept until 2:30. I should have gone to sleep with her so I could have slept 5 amazing hours! Stupid self!
It had been a weird night. 6 wet diapers in an hour. He needs to stop peeing and go back to bed!
I hate when that happens ! I always feel like a horrible mom because I wait a little bit to change the diaper when it becomes nonstop like that!
He hates a wet diaper soooo much that if we even try to wait he screams bloody murder. It had been a wonderful evening. I got him down and then he peed again and now is hungry. Boo to this night!
The Wonder Weeks app is amazing. Reading about this leap LO is in before bed tonight made me feel SO much better about how these past couple days have been.
I also decided to nurse laid back then sleep with her tonight because of it. It just makes sense right now and I bet saved me from her being wide awake in the travel crib every time I put her down. (Will try that again when the leap is over.)
After over 18 straight hours of being awake yesterday, dd finally crashed out around 11pm and slept great in the pnp. Woke up at 2:30am to eat and went back to sleep fine, but kept waking herself up by kicking her legs, so now we're back out in the living room so she can sleep in her bouncer where she can't kick her legs.
It's only 11 which is definitely not MOTN in my books, but LO is being exhaustingly fussy so it feels like it's MOTN. She's been feeding endlessly since 6pm and I've finally put her in her crib for a break. She's wide awake, kicking her feet and squawking. I know she's not going to magically fall asleep, but I'm just not ready to pick her up again.

Got 1 hour of sleep last night and antravel day with a funeral today... Im exhausted baby is passed out... Im going to need some more coffee in order to make it through tonight... Strangly enough, I dont even have a desire to sleep... =\
It's 9 here. After a day of no naps, C has been asleep since 6. It's gonna be a long night and H has to go to work super early and work super late so he'll be no help. I should go to bed now..
Charlie just did a half feed. I think he needed to poop and cursing made that happen. He keeps doing this, and I feel like I'm never comfortable and he's constantly snacking as a result. I am so over this nursing shit.
@BMaidPlanner my sister claims it does, she had very similar problems. However, dealing with PPD as well I just feel like getting one stress off my plate would be huge, and this, sadly, is the easiest one. I might call my sister tomorrow to chat. That said, I brought up ff with DH tonight and he was kind of a dick about it. I know at the end of the day, my body my choice to nurse, but this is his kid too and I'd like for him to be OK with my feeding choice. He basically said he'd be disappointed in me for not sticking it out longer and then disappointed that Charlie wasn't getting the best. Becssue I don't already feel like a failure for having all this over supply and still not being able to feed my kid. Thanks.
@Lilygrace48 The thing to remember is that our husband's will never really understand. They can't possibly put themselves in our shoes. I know it doesn't make it better but I try to remind myself of that if DH and I ever disagree. They have zero clue what nursing is like for us. Do what you have to do. The EP ladies may be able to help too!
I can't truly complain because now that we've moved LO to sleeping in her crib, I did get about 5.5 hours of mostly uninterrupted sleep (aside from having to wake DH up for the first feeding, which is his "shift" but he never hears her screaming on the monitor) BUT when it comes time for my shift at 4am I swear I am incapable of getting my kid back to sleep. After over an hour of white noise, rocking, feeding, etc. she's finally dozing off but I know it'll only last long enough for me to pump and then she'll be up again. I don't know what else to try to get her to go down more easily? DH gets her back to bed in 5 mins flat at the 1am wakeup and she's out for 3 hours... what am I missing?!
@babygabe614 - for us LO one falls asleep easy after the first shift and takes forever to fall back asleep for the 2nd shift. Unfortunately I get both shifts during the week.

For the past week LO has been in growth spurt/leap mode (at least I hope that's what this is) and she wakes up everyday between 1:30 and 2:30, and screams all night. She might take a 30 minute "nap" but not normally. We're on our 3rd feeding of the night. It's pretty much the only time she doesn't scream. I feel like I'm a giant pacifier. Praying this passes soon...
What do you ladies do if you hear LO fill their diaper right after they've passed out for the night? I have mommy guilt if I don't change it right away but he finally fell asleep and I know if I wake him up its going to be a battle to get him back down.
I change it because if not it'll be sooner when he wakes up again. He'll sleep longer in a clean diaper.
Good call, he made it real easy for me to decide by waking himself up just now.
@spittler2 if he has diaper rash cream on I don't change it, but still feel guilty about it.
My brain is playing a new trick on me! I swear I hear LO starting to stir, then I dream that I get up, change, feed, and get her back to sleep... Then just as dream me crawls back into bed and lays her head down, real me wakes up to LO crying and ready to eat! It's so frustrating because my dream is so real, so it's like I'm constantly up since I've had this dream a lot... I just want some quality, peaceful sleep!!!

I think you mean nursing, but cursing totally made me giggle. I just pictured a tiny human talking like a sailor.
LO has eaten twice, been changed 5 times, swaddled and rocked and still will not sleep! I do not like when it takes 2 hours to get him back to sleep....and we are crying again, I want to pull my hair out!
Anyone else's LO getting MORE fussy at meal times? I feel like DD waits until it is time to eat to work her poops, and recently that has involved a ton of leg thrashing and straining. WTH? I bring this up only because I'm watching her do it right now, and I just want to go to sleep!
Oh man, this. Except the leg and head thrashing happens when he is attached to my nipple, and that does not feel good at all. ugh.
@kaysa2 - yep! I feel like she only poops when she's eating. Sooo annoying when you just want to get back to sleep. Lots of farting and grunting. Best is when she poops, then I change her and she poops again. Sigh.
@babygabe614 - same here. Much easier to get back to sleep at 1. This morning LO was grunting for 30 minutes. Finally got her up at 430 and fed her. Then she hung out awake for a bit. Since I was up, I worked out. By 630am, I was exercised and showered with coffee in hand. I will probably be dying by 3pm when I have to pick up dd1 at summer camp, but at least I can get some work done today (small company, big project due soon and I have to pitch in - boooooooooo)
I had to wake up at 5 today in order to get ready for my 9AM pp appt. Why did I set this appt for that early? I'm also kind of kicking myself for thinking 9AM is early. So much shit to do why am I still sitting here
I have a pediatrician appt at 09:45 and was thinking the same thing! Why can't I set these things for 2 pm? Of course, I might feel differently if I hadn't been up with baby for a solid three hour stretch last night...
@Taymiller@MrsBHM@Mia081081 Ok I guess it's not just my kid (or my inability to soothe her...which is what I was chalking this up to) which is good to know, though I'm sorry you guys struggle with the second shift too! I wonder if she's just in a deeper sleep earlier in the night so that's why she goes down so easily? Whatever it is, it makes me annoyed that I gave DH the "easy" shift, lol

I have the same dream. Why does our brain play mean tricks on us???
@kaysa2 I seriously thought my kid was the only dramatic pooper in the world. He's pretty much asleep when it happens- eyes closed and periodically going silent but I feel like this happens all night long. I have the hardest time figuring out when to get him and when to block it out.
@babygabe614 Our best stretch is from 9-2:30 ish but after that he's up every two hours and super noisy in his sleep until about 9 am.
