H, out of the blue tonight, stated the we should start TTC in June of next year. I said okay. He didn't even act like he wanted a second until that moment.
Oh wow! I'm so jealous! How do you feel?
I've been pushing for it. I don't want a second right now, but I wanted to start trying before Lily was 3. It's sort of a vindication kind of thing because I am getting my way.
@cricket81 how is your grandpa doing? I hope your family is holding up okay. Still praying for you all.
Thank you so much for thinking of us! Apparently he regained consciousness last night, but that's all I know. My dad is headed out there now to see him and help out my grandma. I am hoping for more of an update soon.
My normally STTN baby has started getting up between 3am and 5am. She talks to the dog. I change her diaper. I lay her back down in her crib. She turns on her seahorse that lights up and sings and then, I think, goes back to sleep only to wake up at 7ish. I don't know if it's teeth or if she is realizing she is wet while sleeping, but I don't like this at all.
@nikel13, how long do you leave her before going in? It sounds like she's pretty chill about it. Maybe she's working on a new skill?
E never wakes up in the MOTN just happy to chat with me or the dog so I'm kinda jealous. Usually he bangs his head on the front of the crib (he travels the length of the crib in his sleep); sometimes he'll turn himself around and go back to sleep, but sometimes, like last night, he'll shock himself awake and freak out. I've yet to find a solution to this!
@subliminalrabbit I leave her for 5 or 10 minutes. I probably should leave her longer, but she gets louder and louder. She's just chatting, no screaming. She can just be pretty loud and she knows that we are in the room around the corner. I'm hoping that she's just figuring out a new skill! She does hit her head sometimes and I can usually just give her the blanket that she loves and comfort her a bit and she goes back to sleep. Does E have a lovey or something that he likes to cuddle with? That has been a lifesaver for us. This one blanket my granny made is her comfort item and she's attached to it.
@pitchslap WIC has checks and you have to separate them based on what's on the check- one check per transaction. Food stamps are now on a debit-like card.

@subliminalrabbit Would you consider bumpers? DD started doing this around 8 or 9 months. She was only waking up becasue she banged her head after scooting around the crib. I gave in and put up bumpers. Our crib is very low and DD still sleeps in a sleep sack, so I'm not worried about her using them to climb out.
Just 30 more minutes and I essentially go on vacation. I will still be working, but not at my office and no proctoring. Every day I proctor, I get excrutiating migraines. I think it's the people.
@NurseMommy13 Could HE be trying to find out if she's pregnant and that's why he hasn't answered? Guys don't pick up on clues like belly touching, maybe she is and hasn't told him yet. Maybe it's actually torturing him now because he doesn't know.
I need to quit my nail place. They play horrible music. I heard Nickleback in the rotation today. My fingers and toes may look pretty but my head hurts.
I have done SO good all week. Making sure I'm getting my workouts in and my training runs. Today has been straight exhausting and H now has the man cold. I will be indulging in pizza and wine tonight. No regrets.
Whew, pages and pages up in here! Just when I thought I was on my last page, 2 more pop up.
I didn't read all the words, but I skimmed. I saw something on headaches. My mom got terrible migraines after having kids. They didn't go away until she had a hysterectomy.
I also saw headache after the epidural. I had one, had to have a blood patch to fix it. It was excruciating. It was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life, even compared to labor. It's not likely that it will occur a year after the epidural though.
That MK watch is Gorgeous! I'm not a watch lover but I'd wear that!
I really should try to keep up with the spam thread, so much I didn't even know about.
@ChicagoChic82 I'm confused. He was 23 lbs at 6 months? How did they not realize that he hasn't gained anything at his 9 or 12 month appointment? Don't they keep a growth chart?
Did they make a mistake in their charts? Ds2 is about 27 lbs now and is in the 90th percentile or so in weight so I can't imagine a 6 month old weighing 23 lbs.
@ChicagoChic82 - I'll put in another vote for being totally cool with a Master's level degree for SLPs. MIL is an SLP with a Masters, and her colleagues that worked with swallowing disorders also have Master's degrees. I'd feel very comfortable with seeing a specialist with a Master's in that field.
@34blondie - I know I would have serious conflicted feelings if DH did the same. Luckily he's die-hard-anti-running. Though that's totally the kind of thing he would pull off.
However, if he started working out again, that would be phenomenial. So yeah, I definitely get the ambivalence.
So I'm being a bit of a spam PW tonight I feel like, so bear with me ... and I might DD this later, because well, personal much? So no quotsies (thanks booze, for letting me ask this!).
@34blondie Sweet Lord! 24 minutes? I hate him a little bit. No offense. You married him, so I'm sure he's quite a nice guy. But, come. freaking. on. I was stoked when I made it to under 30 minute 5k. I'm not sure I'll ever get under 25 minutes. And, I usually run 4 times a week. I have a g/f like that though. She's the one I usually do all my races with. I can train my butt off, and she barely does anything and I'm struggling to keep up with her. Some people just have it naturally. I am not one of those people.
I see where he's coming from but at that point you're probably exhausted and it's just easier to do it yourself lol my sex drive is basically non existent right now. It comes and goes. I can see his side of things but I can also see yours. I don't feel like you should have to wake him up every time if it's a frequent thing but maybe make a little more effort for sexy times? I try to make the effort as much as I can for A but at the end of the day I understand wanting that time for yourself.
I've never actually read through this Spam thread before but I like it. Not only is it a good read but a baby gif waved at me by way of @subliminalrabbit
On a side note, I think you should be able to M whenever you want to. It's kind of business in a way. It's just something you have to get out. I understand your H getting upset @musicalsilver and MH would probably too but I figure as long as I'm giving him enough S I'm entitled to my own time.
I love Grayson but I need a break from him. I'm thisclose to telling A he's on his own with Grayson until he's ready for bed and hiding out in my room and going to sleep. These last few days have been exhausting!
Any distance run in the rain makes you feel way more hard core than that same distance run on a normal day. Long run in the rain today? Sure. There have been plenty of days when I left for a run feeling "heavy" and came back feeling pounds lighter. Something about running in the rain today was weirdly therapeutic. I feel refreshed and ready to take on the day and deal with H whining because of his man cold
And @workinit that would be pretty sweet! You know there is absolutely nothing to do around here. It sucks. However, my H's commute is about 10 minutes every morning. He's pretty spoiled. Unless of course he gets stuck at the God forsaken Fort Street/ Van Horn/ Allen Rd train of death. You know what I'm talking about.
Is there a part of the country where the word height is pronounced with a th sound at the end?
My MIL has lived lots of places and she always says "highth." It sounds really odd to me and I kind of want to correct her, but not if it's just a regional difference. She also asked if DH was BBQing burgers today.
Dear DH, Things that need to happen in the 2 hours before 40 people show up for LO's birthday: Showering Mopping Food prep Ice run Grill set up Make frosting Get drinks cold Take out trash
Things that don't need to happen right now: Spending half an hour going through the mail you haven't opened in the last 2 months.
Ugh! 400+ posts behind, life is making it impossible to keep up with this thread. : )
I hate to just pop in and post but I have to get this off my chest. I'm in a fb group with a bunch of local moms I met after having DD. There is a super nice girl who is super wealthy in the group. Whenever someone asks for advice on budget friendly baby items, she suggests the most expensive items that she has and loooves. Someone asked for budget friendly umbrella strollers and this girl suggested the city mini and a $350 umbrella stroller. When people ask about inexpensive car seats, she always suggests the radian. They're great suggestions but not budget friendly. It always feels like she's showing off but she's so nice that I don't want to say anything snarky.

Obviously I don't know her and I don't know the whole situation, but I will say that even when someone says "I need a budget friendly ___" I suggest what I have - which isn't always budget friendly - if I think it's worth it. You get what you pay for. But $350 for an UMBRELLA stroller? Shoot, that stroller better come with an espresso machine!
Well, yah and sometimes that is fine. But, if every time you suggest something pricey it gets to be like, "We get it, you have money. Shut it." It's hard when they're nice, but still annoying.

Lily puts her clothes away, but only when encouraged. She thinks it's fun and loves being a big girl!
