@mcbush I totally get what you're saying but she does it with everything, all the time. I get that she has the best quality stuff and wants to suggest it to everyone because it's so awesome but most of the ladies in our group do not have anywhere near the kind of budget she has and she knows that. So, at least to me, it comes off as braggy even if she isn't meaning it to be.
Getting LO down from his nap. We had a great cookout/birthday party. I am hoping other people will share pictures because I hardly got any! Here's a cute one in his new pool though.
Apparently starting my day with an energy drink was a fantastic idea. I got a 6 mile run in, did a touch of school shopping for the girls, went grocery shopping, done a couple loads of laundry, made some (Reeses) banana bread, cleaned the house, and all while H mopes in the chair. Lol. I think I shall reward myself with a glass of wine tonight and a puzzle after the children go to bed
Why are all jeans basically skinny jeans?? I'm in good shape but am not built for skinny jeans. I legit fit in one pair that I own and can't find anymore... whinewhine
YES! It is practically impossible to find a normal pair of jeans. "Boot cut" are basically skinny and if you happen to come across a "Flare leg", it's a boot cut. I hate jeans shopping with the fire of a thousand suns.
I need to catch up on all the words but first has anyone's LO had a teething rash all over their body? I know he's cutting teeth but the rash is even on his legs.
I got a DeLonghi (sp?) gelato maker on clearance at Williams-Sonoma for under $100. That was a few years ago, and I've probably made 50 pints since we got it, about half as gifts. Lots of lemon sorbet this summer since we have been bootlegging and making limoncello.
The gelato maker is huge and loud. Still awesome though. It keeps out air like most conventional ice cream makers you it makes a very dense, rich, creamy end product.
Sorry Ive been MIA for the past few weeks. Being back to work is kicking my ass and I feel like I hardly have a spare second. I'm not sure how I am going to catch up on here and everytime I have thought about signing in I just knew how much there would be to read. Thinking of just starting new and hoping I didn't miss anything too major with anyone. Hope everyone is doing good
2nd night in a row of poop in the fresh diaper right before bedtime. He was seriously wearing that diaper for 3 minutes. Ugh. I wouldn't be so annoyed if he didn't fight diaper changes so much.
@BunnyLove416 I was just wondering how you and your family are doing? I dont know if you posted an update that i may have missed but i thought that id check up on you.
@CL8badB Aw, thanks for thinking of me! This made my day. We're good, still living with my parents but we're in the middle of closing on our first house! A cute little fixer upper. As long as the closing goes well we'll start fixing it up next month, then it's off to buy everything from a couch to bath towels and we're on our own again. I'm so freaking excited, I'm pretty sure my mother and I weren't meant to live together. Bless her for giving us a place to stay but oh. my. God. we need a break. Much wine has been had.
DH is out of town working, baby's asleep and my parents are out so I'm sitting eating fried food drinking a gigantic cup of wine and watching the food network, it's heaven
We went to another 1st birthday party today (it's like the 5th one we've gone to in the past 6 weeks). We have 3 more in the next month. I want my Saturdays back!
Ugh! 400+ posts behind, life is making it impossible to keep up with this thread. : )
I hate to just pop in and post but I have to get this off my chest. I'm in a fb group with a bunch of local moms I met after having DD. There is a super nice girl who is super wealthy in the group. Whenever someone asks for advice on budget friendly baby items, she suggests the most expensive items that she has and loooves. Someone asked for budget friendly umbrella strollers and this girl suggested the city mini and a $350 umbrella stroller. When people ask about inexpensive car seats, she always suggests the radian. They're great suggestions but not budget friendly. It always feels like she's showing off but she's so nice that I don't want to say anything snarky.
People here do that too and it's annoying as hell. I saw it when I asked for a low cost pack n play and have seen it on other posts. If someone is asking for a low cost item and you don't have a recommendation then just shut up! I'm sure people would be just as annoyed if someone was asking for sleep training advice and I popped in and said I've never had to sleep train. Then WTF am I posting for? Save that shit! Nobody wants to hear it. And I'm not trying to call anyone out because honestly I don't think there's any one person that does it. Maybe we can ask Bump Jackie for a STFU button. I'll hit my own now.
So happy to be home with my baby! KJ was fine with DH while I was gone for the last few days but she wouldn't eat much today. He said she threw everything he gave her. She ate everything I gave her
Drove 4 hrs to my parents, played in the pool and grilled pizzas. B is refusing to sleep, he's laying next to me and kicking up his heels. I asked DH to bring me a big martini on the rocks.

I really wanted to compare B's totally ecstatic heel kicking/head turning in a new bed to Julia Roberts in the bathtub in Pretty Woman but I am nervous y'all are going to think I am a total nut job.
L does this thing sometimes where if you turn away from him he'll grab your face and turn it to look at him again, it seriously cracks me up. Tonight I was looking at him while he was about to do something he knows he's not suppose to and he grabbed my face and turned it away! This child is trouble haha.
So we are re-watching American Hustle and I really like the movie but it is SO hard for me to get into it because I swear my parents looks exactly like the two main characters at the exact time it was made and it freaks me out. Evidence:
Because? ---- Randomly losing one and folding/pairing. DH has some that are kinda dirty, and I can't find the same amount of dirt on another to pair them. eta: and the stretching. Ugh

That sounds amazing!! My mom used to make the most amazing lemon ice cream... Mmmm... Maybe I can justify a nice cream maker for sentimental reasons?
I love mine so much that if it died and couldn't be fixed, I might have to go out and spend whatever the full price is for it. I've made so many batches of ice cream. At least 2 or 3 times a year my chef friend asks for my peach/balsamic/Grand Marnier ice cream.
@GraceInCA I'm super jealous! DH and I have been on a serious limoncello kick. Is it easy to make? And *mmm* gelato!
@musicalsilver It's really easy to make, but it takes a long time. Whatever you do, DON'T use that hack Giada's recipe. Use the one that Debi Mazar and her husband Gabriele have posted. Don't use vodka - find grain alcohol with a very high proof (like Everclear). The key is to be patient. Don't check on it - leave it alone. It will turn out, it just takes time. Debi Mazar explains how to make it really well. If you watch the video it gives good detail.

At least he didn't poop in the tub, I guess.
My baby girl does this often. My husband always says, "She likes to work on a fresh canvas."
Yeah, the sock bag and pins would work for about one load and then back to being lazy. I don't even know what happened to the bag I bought for my bras or the one for LOs socks and other tiny things.
I gave up on trying to get Grayson to go to sleep. His sleep schedule is so messed up right now. I gave him to Alex and now I am in bed. I don't have the energy right now to deal with anyone. I'm in a tired funk.

And at least he tried his cupcake this time.
