So my inlaws came to visit, and LO has been super chatty. MIL informed me this morning that LO told her all about how horrible it was in my uterus and how glad he is to be out... Whu???
Oh yeah. Apparently it was dark, he had no friends, and he was so bored just listening to me all day.
But she bought me diapers and fried chicken, so we'll call it a draw.
DHs friend is visiting from Cali. I forgot what a douche he is. First h cancelled his visit bc of the World Cup game being on (we don't have TV)--but then realized that was dumb. Then he walked in, held the baby for 2 minutes and when DH offered him something to drink---he was like "I need something to eat". So I was expected to make him some lunch. I forgot that he always expects to be waited on when he comes over--doesn't even offer to get his own glass of water or take his plate to the sink. Now they are out in DHs new car and I haven't even been in it yet! Then we we're talking about being new parents and he says "yeah, sounds like when I did shrooms the other day". WTH?? I know. Totally small things, but is it time for him to leave yet??
Hubster's best friend is like this and it drives me insane. How long is he staying with you?
@honeyzoo Nooooooooo. Stories about girlfriends are the worst. Hubster's friend is such a dick to women and complains about them all the time and burns through girlfriends like they're packs of cigarettes.
Why do our awesome husbands have such d-bag friends?
I hope you got to enjoy all of those things you bought!
@PoppySeedWindsor I saw you at a random party...which is weird since we live on opposite sides of the country. You sat down near me and I was all "Hey are you Poppy?! How is Merri?". You were super sweet. Then I left on a camel because my motorcycle wouldn't start....yeah, there always has to be a weird part to my dreams

Yay!! I didn't know I was dreamworthy here! :-) I totally wish I had awesome dreams like yours. Mine usually consist of nursing the baby. Although last night I dreamt I ate some leftovers in the fridge that hubster was supposed to have for his work lunch. When I woke up there wasn't anything in the fridge so I thought it really happened, but it turns out there weren't any leftovers after all. My dreams are so real it's hard to distinguish if the instance actually happened or not. I ask hubster for clarification often. A camel and a motorcycle would definitely fix that issue!
We survived DS's first plane ride! We were lucky that he slept the whole time with only a few crying spells in his sleep. Although it went well, I'm in no hurry to fly again any time soon.

@AprilMay9: I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing. Pronouns are tricky, especially when little ones are just learning the structure of our language (A lot of young children use 'me' for ' I'. I see speaking in third person as a way for babies to learn who mommy/ daddy are. You could say something like, "Mommy is going to feed you now. I need to make sure you get breakfast". That way baby gets the pronoun associated with you as well as the third person label.
I was walking my two dogs and wearing LO in the ergo360 carrier when a dog tied up in a front yard came charging, broke off the chain and attacked my dog. It was terrifying, I couldn't do much because I was worried first and foremost about LO. My little dog was flipping out too and I was worried the dog might turn on her and grab her by her throat. All I could do was shout NO. The dog backed down as Buckley fought her off and I screamed at it, then the owner came out. I was sure Buckley was going to have a bite, but I checked all the spit soaked areas and there was no broken skin. LO barely even woke up through the incident. Sucks though because I can't walk the dogs with the baby, and I have no one to watch the baby, or accompany me on the walks to wrangle the dogs.
@speechie517 I've been wondering... Is it bad to use third person when talking to kids? I talk to dd all day and say things like "mamas going to change your diaper." Is it better to use normal speech?
I totally do this. I think it's fine. It's not like you're all "Isaboo! Isabooboo!! Booboo doopoo poopoo doodoo boo! Mama gonna change beebee didey!! Yes!!"
I think referring to yourself in the 3rd person (Mommy/Mama/etc) helps establish who you are before the child understands pronouns. You're doing an awesome job!
@knotty-girl the same thing happened to me about a year ago. Obviously I didn't have lo and my dog ended up getting bit and having surgery. It's terrible when those things happen. Glad you, lo, and your pup are okay!
Our mall has a private room for nursing. Not that I couldn't NIP, but it has a glider, side table, changing station (built into the counter so no chance of falling), and sink. So, it's cush for a mall.
DH is wandering aimlessly while A and I take advantage of it.
I love that room! I was thrilled when it opened right before DD was born. Definitely a life saver for a shy FTM, like I was.
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
Working is kicking my ass I hate spending my days off playing catch up. I want to retire.
@mrscalli & @Ambarnett1 you're making my uterus hurt :S
That sucks I'm sorry!
Some guy is staring at me while I NIP, say something I dare you. :-w

@Emily041285, I always nurse to sleep. It works and it's relaxing for both of us. If you're happy with it keep it up
@KendraColeslaw, you're so purty!
