@YaMrWhite love it, but since we were told ds was a girl I want to be 100% sure I talk to the doctor during it and make sure they feel 100%. I don't care what I have but don't want to be surprised at the last minute again (unless we choose that).

I have a pretty good relationship with my dr as I have been seeing her since I was 17 and the tech is in house so I know her pretty well from my last 2 pregnancies. Once I tell her my plan, I am certain she won't write it down if she isn't comfortable with her answer.
Edit to add: whether we find out with the tech or without the tech, we still plan to do the nursery and buy clothes before baby arrives as we did with the previous pregnancy so if it's wrong, we are screwed either way Might as well have some fun with it.
lol ok thanks ladies. This is my sixth pregnancies and I have asked many questions. Yes, when you go to a high risk office and they use specific machines, YES they do have a pretty good shot at being correct.
This is my first and I feel smarter than you
No one made a scene. Maybe this isn't the proper forum for you?

@rockkandi - Welcome to The Bump where we sometimes use a gif to make people giggle at our posts. Your post did indeed deserve said gif. Having had 6 pregnancies does not make you a licensed physician the same way that being able to use Google doesn't make me one, but at least I put the effort into finding out correct information before trying to mislead internet strangers. There are, however, licensed physicians on this board that might agree with the information I provided you in that link. Please leave your hypersensitivity at the door.
Oh, and I hope my children have the confidence in themselves to call someone out when they are obviously wrong, if they are willing to do that then I've done something right. Side note: do I get some type of marker on my bingo card for her saying she hopes my kids aren't as mean as me?
@TRexsMum - She can "ID sex" at 13w all she wants, but when the anatomy is nearly identical at 13 weeks she's got a 50/50 chance at being correct. I'm just glad you didn't go buy all the pink

@ICarriedAWatermelon you too huh?if you read my second post it read that I have no problem admitting if I am wrong and maybe I am. But like I said, it's simply based on my personal experiences. I've never come across so many not friendly woman. And yes, posting a video to empathize that I said something stupid is making a scene. And I hope that your congrats on my six pregnancies was not to be snarky as four of them have been losses. Y'all are some aggressive ladies. I apologize if my assement was incorrect... It's certainly unnecessary To have a several people have to feel it their job to correct me. I read the article posted and I agree that yes, it looks very similar.
Have y'all heard about the blood work to check the gender?
MaterniT21 determines the sex.
I've heard of it but I've never heard of anyone given the option to do this unless they have some other risk factor to check for. Its relatively new and expensive so I'm not sure of availability. Perhaps based on provider and insurance?
I know one person who had a blood test like this (maybe this one or competitor?), possibly due to "advanced maternal age" and she opted not to find out if expecting boy or girl.

You COMPLETELY threw out a "I've had 6 pregnancies card" to show you have "been there, done that" so you were, in theory, more educated about pregnancies. Sorry, but you can have 10 pregnancies and have no clue. You can be on your first and have lots of clues. I hate when people play that card.

Wow keeps getting better I didn't "play a card" @MusicFanatic but included why I have had these experiences. Seriously? Looks like y'all have some good hormones floating through your bodies! Touchy women for sure!

Nobody asked you about the details of your 6 pregnancies. It appears you threw them out here to try and gain sympathy.

I also hate when people think calling out stupidity is due to hormones. I would call you out in my non-pregnancy state, too. My hormones have nothing to do with it. But thanks

You're a real sweetheart huh @MusicFanatic ? If you are able to read, you will have read that I have apologized twice now for possibly being wronged...MoveOn

"if you read my second post it read that I have no problem admitting if I am wrong and maybe I am."
I kinda think you do have a problem admitting you are wrong. You keep saying "maybe" and "possibly" lol
Well way to make a new girl feel welcome over something so innocent and that I already apologized for. If you after I have already apologized and you have nothing nice to say, please leave me alone. Simple

actually, @MusicFanatic is one of the sweetest people on this board, as an FYI

Ok as I say to y two year old, "I'm done". I have no clue what sparked such excitement out of y'all about this and the reason I said maybe is bc I have seen it be right so many times.
I simply wrote a fun post about gender. It was never intended to turn into something like this. And if that vibe of this board is as such I have no desire to be part of your group

And I'm sorry for your losses @rockkandi, but you failed to mention those initially. I can only work with what information I have, so yes I used your six pregnancies against you since you felt it was relevant enough to make you educated on the subject.

@WillCMyInk thank you for your kind words. Try to never bring up my losses for many reasons a) it's hard to talk about and b) I would never choose to use them as a crutch. I just wish that ladies would be nicer torn another. Period. Didn't say anything that is offensive or hurtful to anyone... It was a simple mistake and something I had been made to feel was true. As I stand corrected, I will move forward as I had originally hoped for in seeking only positive experiences here. There are too many real life negative scares that come along with this journey. I certainly don't wish to add any from people I have never met but that I wish well to all.
@nickicl I just switched obs from midwife to ob actually and they offered me a panorama apparently it's taking place of the 12 week u/s and it does identify gender. I am not high risk at all.

Girl, you're gonna have to do a lot of this. So many "gender" posts on page 1 today.... but I applaud your efforts.
yeah seriously, I didn't mean anything by it (I mean besides that my ob may predict the future? But you have to pay like $50 extra to get the gender). You may have to do this to me for the next 6/7 months because I can never remember which one gets to people.

Oh, I know. I only have the energy to correct every so often anymore. One day, people will learn, at least, I hope so
Fat chance

Nope. Doesn't make sense to me to waste the money just to know the sex a few weeks earlier but I also don't have a money tree so that could be why.
This. As much I would love to know early, we'll wait. At my NT scan the sonographer was very certain that we are having a boy...apparently there were three dots that girls don't have that were very clear and she "has never seen a girl look like this." However, we aren't naiive and haven't run out buying boy stuff...we will wait until our A/S to be sure.
My A/S won't be until almost 21 weeks which seems like forever, but it's on a Sunday so both DH and I can be there without rearranging work schedules and using sick leave. So anxious and excited!!
Anyway... sillyness in this thread aside, we are waiting until the A/S which is scheduled for 08/07...I will be 18w4d
I'm sure I can manage to wait. The only reason I would want to schedule a second u/s for sex determination is if for some reason H can't make it. It's really important to him to be there. It's scheduled for 8am on that day, so we SHOULD be able to both be there (we'll just go in a little late for work) and the plan is to have my DS stay and grandpa and grandma's the night before so they can take him to daycare for us that morning (very nice of them)
How exciting @SpaceGirlSpiff ! Our a/s is set for 8/5 and I feel like I could wait it out. My hubby is dying to know so Im trying to decide what to do. He is never me able to make it to my appointments so we will just have them write it in an envelope like we did with my son so we can open it together
@rockkandi so I actually did the maternity21 as an option insurance wasn't going to cover it, the np told me it was going to be like 200-300. However when they called to get my payment if jumped to 1k, and I was like no thanks. I'm not high risk I thought it would be nice to know but not 1k nice. I don't know if there is a cheaper test for this though.
@jconno good luck! I have no idea how any of the billing works so I was just like never mind. And I called the billing lady at my obgyn and she didn't know either as she hasn't worked a lot with their company. Oh well, but hopefully it works out for you!

P.S. I'd post a "video" but I'm on mobile. \:D/
I could come back and repeat a bunch of stuff but I think @MusicFanatic,@ICarriedAWatermelon, @CrazyMonkeyBear and @YaMrWhitehave covered everything I would have said.
