Completely, understand the difference but I don't understand why there is such a drive to keep correcting people. For most, it is likely an honest mistake and the intent is clear.

So originally, based on a very short response FTFY, I did not understand this intention.  I was going to suggest that perhaps it would have been better to explain the reason for correction in the very first correction.  

However, seeing where this conversation has gone, it is now a moot point.

Also, sorry if I have offended someone along the way.  It was not my intention.

So I have a question and I will say I'm new to forums and not up to date on terminology so I have used gender and didn't know there was the distinction. Thanks for the picture I will correct myself from now on. So sex is the proper way to describe if the baby is female or male, but I thought they called the parties gender reveal? So should those technically be sex parties, no pun intended it didn't sound bad until I re-read it.

Other people did explain this to you. This information is also widely available all over the internet. Demanding an education from strangers and then being belligerent and insulting is not a great way to communicate that you are genuinely interested in learning/understanding.

Ok, I can't hold back any longer. Yes, the country is headed to doom because after hundreds of years, a persecuted minority is gaining some semblance of rights and recognition!

Are you suggesting that if people just kept their heads in the sand, the world would be a better place? Because for the countless people who have struggled with gender identity, I can assure you that's not the case.

And why is "educate" in quotations? Are you skeptical that these are real issues that affect real people who matter? Or do you just think that because you're conservative, you'll never have to deal with those people? News flash: people don't choose to be transgender.

It's astounding to me that someone would be so willfully ignorant, but then again, the grammatical errors should have clued me in from the beginning.

In response to the "trolls" conservative views...I wasn't going to say anything but felt I should. Hope to not step on many toes, although it can happen easily on a board this diverse. I'm a Christian, Lutheran (LCMS) and we don't "agree" with the LGBT and Trans lifestyles BUT we love them and accept them regardless. Our senior pastor even pulled aside a lesbian couple who has been involved in our church for a few years and asked if they wanted to join. They thought we wouldn't let them bc of their being lesbians and that life style but of course we do! He explained that we do view it as not what God has for us, but that there are also adulterers, couples living with each other outside of marriage, liars, cheaters and just sinners (we are all sinners) in our church. Who are we to say one sin is worse than another? They are truly accepted along with their twin boys in our church. My cousin just recently came out at a transgender (male to female) 2 months ago and is divorcing his wife. He still wants to be with women but his wife wants to be with a man, not a male to female. It's such a hard situation! He (or she now) is actually still in seminary in the Lutheran ELCA to become a pastor. So what I'm trying to get at is, just bc you are "conservative" or it doesn't interest you or whatever, you can still be aware of what's going on and have some compassion. Just bc I don't agree with the lifestyle doesn't mean I'm ignorant or judgy or intolerant. I don't have to agree with his choices (she-he's still making the transition, please don't slaughter me if I mess it up) to love my cousin. Before all of this happened, I still knew the differences between LGBT and Trans. Did you hear about 9/11?? I guess you probably have no idea what that is since it probably has nothing to do with your conservative lifestyle? What a load of crap.

When did you decide you were straight? I doubt that you did; you just were. Same for gay people, they just are. It's not like you were equally attracted to both men and women, but you decided to go with men, and thus your attraction to women vanished instantly. It is not a choice!

Like I said, I apologize for my wording, I knew it would step on some toes, but I was honestly in favor of helping to spread the awareness and that you can educate yourself and not be intolerant, please don't jump down my back. I'm not bashing anyone, just the opposite.

I feel like that's a matter of opinion, especially in a religious aspect for me. I don't think God "makes" people like the same gender, Trans, etc. Oye I'm going to get flack for that UO but what I am trying to get across, is that I accept them, love them and can live peacefully with them. We are all human and equal and free to do what they feel is right for them, absolutely. You all think I'm wrong, well maybe not everyone, but most traditional Christians won't speak up to say they agree with this even though they do bc their identity here is more important. Idk ladies, I was trying to help, but I won't sacrifice my beliefs bc a group of on line women feel strongly different. I wasn't trying to hurt anyone or call anyone out or be intolerant, I was honestly trying to say, educating yourself is important so that we dont breed hate and bitterness and outcast people for living differently, but I'm sure you will take what I've said and be hurtful or accuse me, again, of being intolerant, which is honestly what I was trying to not be...
