We do need a badge. I don't know if you could fit that much awesome into one badge though.

Well... technically. But they just changed the TOU and none of the mods have really said anything about it.

  • So seriously, I won't leave but I need cliff notes and these questions answered...

Where did the new people come from?

    Why are they here?

Are they really staying or just being annoying as hell?

Who had a baby died of SIDS?

Who made up a baby who died of SIDS?

And all other relevant information. Feel free to PM me.

I must say, I do like that you can mention members ala twitter/instagram style.

This place is growing on me.

But the sigs are massive! Holy shit. Someone mentioned you can turn this off? So I don't see anyone's sig? Would make reading way easier.

And sigs aren't THAT important right? I am kinda lazy. I don't want to make a sig.

Little runner you have been on here since 2001? Did you make it and never use it? I'd say technically you're not that new lol

I signed in yesterday and it had my address from 2003. I am thinking that I signed up for theknot.com before my wedding (2004). And being the tech dork that I am, I'm going to guess that they had some kind of data migration problem over the years wherein everyone who signed up before some date (after 2004) probably defaulted to January 2001.

I definitely did not sign up in 2001, 6 months out of college!

Nobody tell them how to turn off siggies. And then make yours three pages long. Let's do this.

I'm using the mobile website on my phone and the siggys don't show up already lol. I had to use the regular site to see them at all.

I was not! There is another signature area under 'My Account'

Why are there two?? I mean, that's where my avatar selection is so not sure why my signature would be assigned in a different place?

I feel like thebump/theknot/thenest, etc is bunch of features held together with duct tape and popsicle sticks.

    I like you...

    And now I want waffles....
I like that waffles is my nickname. When I was taking fenugreek my husband called me "waffle pits". Because... I smelled like a walking bottle of Aunt Jemima.

    I'm starting to like you
am I the only one that was kinda happy that my PP body odor smelled of maple syrup?  I was totes sad when I found out it was the cause of DD's insane gas issues.

Starting to? Dang. I gotta pump it up. I actually am allowing myself to dry up right now. I'm devastated. But work. And pumping. And every other fucking factor really worked against me. Major sadz over here.
  • @megomyeggo1123  (new comment because HELLO quote tree!)

Hugs to you.  I had issues with pumping when returning to work as well.  My body was all confused because I was pumping while DD was in the NICU, then she finally BFed with a shield, then without a shield, then I had to go back to work pumping all the time and my boobs were like NO THANK YOU.

I was a wreck.  That's why both me and SSM are ready but not-so-ready for #2 because we want do-overs with BFing
Its such a mind F because I find myself thinking - GAWD I know so many things I'll do next time. YAY next time! But then immediate guilt sets in that I didn't do it right/long enough/good enough for Reece and my stomach turns. Mommy guilt. The struggle is real.

I keep telling myself, at least he does well on formula. At least we made it to 6 months. At least he's happy. Those are all good things.
  • @MarBee1214‌ huge hugs to you too. Here's to more success with our number twos - and fingers and toes crossed for no NICU again, hope it wasn't too serious.
  • Neither one of mine would nurse. I had this fantasy in my head how I would nurse my December baby fine because I knew more. She lost weight too. The only thing different this time is that I SAH...so I could pump. Almost 6 months strong....but goddamn is it a year yet?

Riley stopped latching a month ago so I'm EP now. I am shooting for 6 months (we are almost to 5). I know I wont make it to a year. He only gets two BM bottles a day right now. But I'm gonna do as much as I can for as long as I can. Pumping makes me so ragey though. I hate it so very much.

Yeah I have that problem too. Also I can never seem to find the 30 minutes for each session where Riley is happy enough or asleep for long enough. I swear he knows when I try to pump and chooses that moment to get upset. I am down to pumping 2-3 times a day because its all I can find the time for without going crazy.

I don't know if this would help or not - but while I was pumping consistently at work I was NOT letting down with the madela pump in style. I rented the hospital grade symphony and it really helped me.

Ugh. Hopefully you are using a medela. I've heard all other brands suck. But, yeah, some boobs don't respond to pumping. I had a shitty labor and delivery (CS) so I guess the gods decided to let me have a good boobs for pumping.

Same. Shitty labor and c section but at least my boobs and hormones love the pump. I only have to THINK about the noise to get the let down burn. Ugh.

Yes. I'm a great producer but an absolutely terrible pumper. It takes forever to get a bottle's worth which makes is all the more devastating when Maddie rejects it out of hand.

I used a medela at first but it didn't work for me. I have an Avent comfort pump now and it seems to work better. I wish I had the money to try out every single one on the market and see what works best for my particular tits. Maybe I should be playing the lotto..

  • Pumping sucks. Period. Hate it.

For the ladies having trouble with the let down on a pump, try fennel oil.

I'm only pumping so I can continue nursing in the morning and at bedtime. I'm okay with C getting formula, it isn't even about that anymore for me. I am not emotionally ready to give up our time together while nursing.

That is exactly why it's so hard for me. It has zero to do with formula - it had everything to do with the relationship.

My kid rejects bottles too. It's the worst.

It is! It can feel a little claustrophobic to be the only food source and living your life in 2-3 hour increments.

  • If it helps anyone, I've never been able to let down with a pump. I just use my hand to get it going then stick the pump on.

  • I do have a Medela but maybe I need to replace the valves and membranes or whatever. And renting a hospital grade pump sounds like something I should look into. Thanks guys!

    And date nights? Fugeddaboutit.

My older one did this too. The plus side is you don't have to go through the hassle of weaning from bottles to cups.

    My first born, too!

The second one will be easier they said... :-|
