I'm only pumping so I can continue nursing in the morning and at bedtime. I'm okay with C getting formula, it isn't even about that anymore for me. I am not emotionally ready to give up our time together while nursing.
THIS!!! and because I am WAY to cheap to buy the milk free formula
My LO also needs milk free thus why I am still going with the BF'ing and will probably go through to close to one year.
I've also her the hypoallergenic stuff tastes awful.
I do have a Medela but maybe I need to replace the valves and membranes or whatever. And renting a hospital grade pump sounds like something I should look into. Thanks guys!
I rented through Kaiser (but I think your local LLL will have rentals also, maybe?) I pay $30/month and for the time I was able to use it diligently it made a big difference in pumping session time, it's SUPER quiet, and it increased my output by 1-2oz every session.

This is what was the hardest for me to deal with when my boobs wouldn't work from the start because I feel like I missed out on that bonding. The sns was such an anxiety trigger so we were on bottles exclusively by week 2. I still do the first bottle 6, if not all 7, days of the week though because I feel like that's our little bit of bonding time.

HMMM Now I wonder if renting one would be worth it. I am currently producing enough for LO, but I REALLY want to get a big stock pile going so I can stop pumping/bfing prior to the year mark (and eat CHEESE!!). $30 a month is WAY cheaper then formula!
Seriously. Cheese, froyo, donuts (since most of them have dairy), quiche, a GD cheeseburger FFS.
I'm not a huge dairy fanatic (because I have milk lactose intolerance - i.e. farts), but even still, the dairy elimination is starting to wear on me.
I know this has been said before, but no matter if you BF, FF, pump, or any combo...that shit is hard. And for those that have to cut dairy, you have all my sorries.
@Kimgaroo16 I don't know why. She's been around as long as I can remember
Maybe I am just kindof oblivious. It is distinctly possible that I simply suck.
Eh, I have been in and out of the board (BBC) based on random crap I had going on. Last summer into fall I didn't participate that much bc I was selling my house. I had no avatar for a long time so I was easy to miss.

I was mostly in January 14 until like March or so. I was back and forth and then one day I just stopped going to Jan cause Dec was way better. So I'll use that as my excuse.
I am starting to get down about BFing. My little miss was in the hospital weekend before last for "failure to thrive." It's a long story but the ped suggested rice cereal for reflux. Turns out she is allergic to rice and lost about a lb in 2 weeks. Over a month, she maybe gained 2/3 oz. it was very upsetting. So we went to the hospital and come to find out, I had a ductal yeast infection. My supply dropped, her stomach lining might be "scarred" (as they put it), and I had to start supplementing every feeding. Well my supply is better now but she prefers the formula. It is frustrating and saddening as hell

Ugh, I'm sorry. I am super skeptical of rice cereal. Mine had threads of blood in her stool after we tried it. What about mixing formula and BM to sort of wean her off the formula taste?

It sounds like you have given it a hell of a go. Don't be hard on yourself. You have done a great job.
I really don't get all of the website design hate. It's an effing forum. Pick a thread, write words in a box, hit post. Done.
I get that it's new to you and the bells and whistles are different. Also, we tend to break it a lot. But it is still your basic Internet forum.
Also, if you absolutely HAVE to mention that it sucks then do it once and move on.
In no way is it directed at the people here. I mean you guys are fun, website issue is totally separate. But I can see how you might take offense. I'm getting used to it and there are some new things I like.

I am sorry to hear that about your little one! I might have freak out, just a tad. Mine had some severe allergy induced eczema. Thank goodness (but not really) that my other daughter has an allergy to eggs and milk. I knew exactly what I was looking at. I unfortunately, like some PPs, done respond well to a pump. My LC said it is just the convenience of not having to work as hard that is making her like it more. She has gained weight really well since supplementing and I have nothing against formula. I guess I am selfish and miss "my time" with the baby. I was also hoping for a year because I didn't make it with my oldest. The fear that I had failed her was longstanding (I know irrational) but I don't want to feel like that.

I'm starting to give up on bf'ing too and really haven't had many struggles. Don't get down on yourself, sounds like you put up one hell of a fight.
@ARkitchenvixen I still am figuring out how to use this site so hopefully this works. Don't get down on it. I think you have done and continue to go an amazing job! I am waiting till your beautiful little doll is all good then I'm going to bombard you with more food questions.
@ARkitchenvixen I actually didn't freak too much because it wasn't much blood and she was acting totally normal.
If your baby is choosing formula and she's doing well on it, I can't see anything negative aside from the loss of the emotional connection of nursing. We're all gonna have to wean eventually and making the 6 mos mark is excellent. I'm pretty sure most don't make it that far (I know my mother stopped with me at 4 mos from supply issues).
Re: Invader
(Thank you for not crazily changing your SN so I can figure out who you are (given I am not part of the batcave))

Which reminds me of two things, the bend and snap, and the A&E (?) show about ladies murdering people.
:x Vader
