OMG - i just totally lost my shit at this - i'm laughing so hard i'm crying...thank God my office door is closed. i can just see every FTM on this board calling their doctor for a c-section at this very moment...
It definitely crossed my mind ;-) I also recently found out that I can get an elective CS after 39 weeks even with my insurance. But hearing about the immediate skin-to-skin for 2+ hours that my hospital does as a standard practice yesterday made determined to try to push this baby out the old school way... even if it does mean hurricane-like destruction to my nether regions. I want that baby on my chest right away with no worries about putting all of my insides back together if possible! :-)
It's also apparently possible for the baby to rip your cervix on the way out.
My friend just had her second, and got her wish of a VBAC. Except he came out with his arm with his face and tore all through her cervix on the way out. There were A LOT of stitches.
Even worse? She over did it and ripped her stitches. So now it just has to heal up naturally because they can't get in to re-do them.
Your welcome for that horror story. It's been sitting on my mind for weeks.
Aaaaaand my lady parts are permanently clenched shut now. :-O
TallMomma29 Have you been going to the chiropractor? I've been going to one who claims that by loosening up all the pelvic joints etc they'll open up more easily and the baby will have a less hampered path out. That includes making sure the coccyx is loosened up, which means he's practically fingering/adjusting my butthole once a week. Not super pleasant, but if it helps me avoid a broken ass I'll take it. Time will tell.

I need to look into this! I've heard great things about seeing chiropractors during pregnancy in general (not just for the butt protection). I'm planning to officially be on maternity leave after tomorrow so hopefully I can swing some appointments!

Is that legal??
And that's just foreplay for when he uses a tiny rubber tipped jack hammer on my pubis. He should buy me dinner first.

Oh crap, the final 2 episodes of Boy Meets World are rerunning on MTV right now. Here come the tears...
Have we talked about whether you plan on watching Girl Meets World? (I assume yes?) I will definitely be tuning in (June 27!!).
We haven't, but hell yeah I'm planning on watching Girl Meets World! I may have friends coming over for an afternoon of our favorite BMW episodes before the premiere airs. I'm so excited to see what it will be like! I just hope it doesn't disappoint.
SO is making fun of me because I was so hangry that my lunch consists of the first few things I could get my hands on in the kitchen... which in this case is spagetti-o's, goldfish crackers, and orange soda.... he says I eat like a 5 year old.
I might go back for some string cheese too....

Got 2 Sophies as gifts and debating whether or not to return one. It might be handy to have a spare if Adelinde likes it. Keep or return?
If you don't mind holding on to it for a while and think you can get money or something else down the rode if necessary, then hang on to it. It's impossible to know what kids will like...but if she becomes attached you could be right that having a spare would be nice.
Ugh...nst this morning showed lots of 20 second-ish contractions, so she checked my cervix. 1cm, but it's high and thick. I feel a bit crampy, so maybe that's the contractions? Stay in baby! Time to start mainlining the water.
I'm so sleepy. DH and were up late watching Lost and my 5:45 alarm comes too soon.
I feel ya. Now that I'm on maternity leave, I'm home with YDS all day and he's been waking up lately around 5 am and stays up til about 11:30-12. I'm about ready to pass out.

*** That's rough! How old is he? Thankfully DS sleeps 8:00-6:45ish. I need that time to myself!

I'm jealous! YDS is a little over 1 (15 months?) Since his middle of the night diaper accidents (and now that Mama's home all day) his schedule is thrown off. Ugh...let's switch places for a bit. Haha.
3am insomnia gets me for the first time this morning. Although tired, I'm more concerned with the debilitating pain in my left hip that's preventing me from walking... WTF hip?

*** I'm actually sad cuz up until a month ago (when he got his big boy bed), DS was a 6pm-7am sleeper. It was glorious. So this 2 hour later baloney has me slightly bummed

6pm?! How'd you get your DS to go to sleep at 6?! Omg what I wouldn't give for that sleep routine.the earliest mine would sleep is 7:30-8.
Have you guys started washing baby's clothes yet?! I'm just wrapping up a laundry marathon and jeez, baby's newborm outfits came out of the dryer like HALF the size they were on the rack!
FYI, I guess.
5 years TTC, no luck with IUI's, failed IVF June 2013,
FET Oct 2013 with delayed transfer, intralipids, lovenox & prednisone= first BFP of my life!
Ok so I know my midwife will have the final say but at what point are you considered full term? Some literature says 36 wks while others say 37 or even 38....When can I post the eviction sign on this little one?
@CandC13 37 weeks is considered full term, but there's a big movement these days to not "evict" baby until 39 weeks at the earliest. It's best for baby

This. I don't think any OBs will induce or do a c section before 39 weeks unless it is medically necessary (and likely insurance wouldn't pay for it either).
@mrscurlygurl tell baby to wait just a little longer! Although just a couple weeks left for you right?
I'll be 36 weeks on Sunday. I am NOT ready. Still crampy though and my lower back hurts I need DS to actually take a nap today so I can too. He's been a bad napper this week.
