I must be the only person who doesn't have a hospital bag packed yet. With DD, I packed the day I went to the hospital. With this one, I'll probably do the same. I guess I figure I'll have time to pack when I am in labor at home or DH can pack it, if he's home.
It's not just you, I don't have one either!
I'm in this club too. I feel like what I need to pack is stuff I use daily (shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, brush, toothbrush, toothpaste) though. I'll pack a bag maybe next week or so, and maybe just put a toiletries bag together so I can throw it in on our way out.
Add another one to the club. I didn't even pack one when I went to the hospital last time. DH convinced me I didn't need to, that the dr would send me back home because I had just started feeling anything. Instead, I got to the doctor and was 5 cm along and sent straight to the hospital. Not having a bag really isn't that big a deal.
With ds1, my bag wasn't packed at all. Between my water breaking and the contractions I couldn't walk/talk through, I managed to get the essentials. I wore the hospital gown the entire time, my son wore the hospital shirt and used hospital supplies. I plan on doing the same.

My MIL is throwing me a baby shower for DH's side of the family and I can't remember what day it's on... I thought it was the 14th or the 20th, but DH said he was on the phone with her today and she said "this Saturday".
I'm too embarrassed to ask her or my SIL when it is... whoops.

thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
Whenever I'm starting to doubt our name choice (Theo), I either watch the Cosby Show or Google image search Theo Huxtable. That guy is so darn cute and loveable, it solidifies our name choice all over again.
Had DH's brother over tonight for dinner. First time since I've known DH (7yrs). It was amazing!! We all had a great time and DH and BIL got to chat for hours. It was so great to see one of DH's siblings show up positive and not have to talk about family drama.
I went in for (what I now know are) gall stones and when they had me hooked up for monitors they noticed I was having contractions(I couldn't feel them) but they weren't bh and they weren't progressing labor. Then they readjusted me and I could feel them in my back. From my understanding it's just a uterus that starts having meaningless contractions. She said I can expect it to become uncomfortable the closer I get to labor, gave me a shot of terbutaline, and told me to come back in if I can feel them happening. My cervix is a softening but nothing drastic is happening so they aren't too terribly concerned. I'm also not likely to go into preterm labor.
Also I haven't DTD in weeks so that's not likely what caused mine, some women just have an angry ute and little things like lifting a heavy box or overexerting yourself can trigger the contractions. I also work on my feet all day in a fast paced environment so I don't imagine that helps.
I had a lot of questions, I used google and then clarified with doctor, haha.
Total bone head move this morning. I was making oatmeal for DS (but thinking about a million other things) and went to take the bowl out of the microwave...The milk sloshed out and burned my hand and belly...no blistering (even though it had been in there two minutes), but man that hurt! My mom had just come in and she put frozen peas on my belly, and that helped.
@alwaysnc4me I'm hurt LB that you didn't send some to me Now I want brownies. I can't seem to make good ones from scratch, they always turn out dry instead of gooey. I love using a box mix & making them into cookies filled with caramel. Soooo good! I'm actually making some next week for the NICU nurses since it will be my last shift.
Also, try putting crumbled bacon in peanut butter cookies =P~
Does anyone else have to turn in all of their prenatal appointment dates/times for FMLA to their employer? I didn't have to do this with my prior company/pregnancy. None of my appointments lasted longer than 30 minutes plus commute time. Seems ridiculous to me, especially since it will be counted against my FMLA time.
Also, I have swapped cell phone providers and now have unlimited data usage on my cell...which equals mucho Bump/FB time during maternity leave. Can I join the FB group now? Is there an initiation test? Let. Me. In!

I haven't, but I know technically the appointments before hand can be counted against your FMLA if that's your company's policy. It's stupid if you're making up the missed time, but if you aren't, then that's why they do it.

WHAT?! no.
i say that, but does it matter if you're hourly vs. salaried? meaning, i'm salaried and i work a whole lot more than 40 hours a week anyway, so i in essence "make up the hours"...if a person is hourly and the time to go to the doctor "takes away" from hours at the job, then from a work/labor point of view, it might make a difference.
which is to say that either way i call bullshit. i mean i just took a manager training that told me that i cannot penalize a smoker for taking as many breaks as they need to in a day b/c the breaks are under 30 minutes (even if the breaks add up to more than that), but a PREGNANT WOMAN loses FMLA time if she goes to a doctor appointment ONCE A MONTH for most of the pregnancy?!?! i would venture a guess that if you add up all the time you spent at your appointments the entire 9 months it wouldn't NEARLY rival the time a smoker is "on break" over the course of, let's say a month. total. bull.
Weird question, today at my shower two of my step-aunts and my step-grandma came up to me all excited that they found a "similar" nursery set to the one on our registry that was cheaper at Wal-Mart so they could buy all the accessories too.. once we opened it I saw it wasn't even close and it also doesn't match the colors we already painted the room. However it's something that's going to be super obvious if we don't use it.
Will it make us horrible people if we return it to put towards the one we want? For some reason I feel really guilty about this.
I don't think it would make you horrible people. That's a tough one though. I say return without hesitation and get what you want, but then if it were me, I would have a tough time following my own advice for fear of hurting feelings.
That's it, and honestly it's something I never expected anyone to actually buy.... we just put it on the registry to get the completion coupon.
Tell them someone else bought you the one off your registry?

This could totally work. The "someone" just happens to be you! ;-) You could explain that someone else bought the set on the registry, and when you got it home it matched the paint and other things in the room better.
There is a nail place next to an Acme that I never go to. Yesterday, I noticed that it was open on Sundays.
Lol I wonder how many ppl here actually know what ACME is
Ha! @jensavicci - i thought of that, but i figured it was the same as half the people on here talking about Kroger and Food Lion
Me, I know about Acmes!
But to be authentic, you must call it, THE ACME, and you have to pronounce it "Ak-Ka-Me". They are all being shut down in my area, Shop Rite and other competition got to be too much.

Someone at my shower yesterday told me I shouldn't wash anything before baby comes in case baby girl turns out to be baby boy and now I'm paranoid. Anyone not washing baby clothes?

Nah, I mean I've had several weird dreams that boy turns out to be a girl but, I mean. As long as you have clothes to put on the baby you're doing ok
I got so far behind this weekend, but I just wanted to say that in less than three weeks the nurse will schedule my c section and I will know the date and approximate time my baby will be born!!!

I keep joking about our baby turning out to be "Carlton" instead of "Caroline." I'm not washing clothes yet but moreso because I'm lazy and I'm not sure how big she'll be when she's born/how fast she'll grow.
Vent: So pissed that I have to do all the leg work to get my effing medical records from the Military hospital. I asked them to fax on Thursday, didn't do it. Friday, didn't do it. Today, haven't done it yet. I showed up and demanded a copy of them. They seemed all put out and handed me my records after 10 minutes. I then walked into the civilian clinic and they handed me three sheets of paper to sign and gave me an appointment in less than a week. They thanked me, congratulated me and sent me on my way in less than the time it took to get me records from the stupid military hospital.
In better news, I bought Cinnamon Toast Crunch for the first time since I was a kid. $0.99 at the commissary. At least the military gives me something.
This is ridiculous, but I am extremely excited for the new couch being delivered today. It is the style that has 2 reclining seats on the end. It is replacing an old leather couch that DH's parents gave us YEARS ago when we moved into our first apartment.

Luckily my new OB's office warned me that it would take forever if I asked the military hospital to send my records, and that I should just go pick up the records in person instead, so that's what I did. So silly do have to go in person, but it just made me even more confident about my decision to switch! ;-)

I'm not washing but 2-3 outfits until he comes but not because I'm afraid of different sex. Rather I won't know his size- if he comes at EDD he may not need Premie or NB stuff so I can take it back. Doctor thinks he's coming early so I needed to have tiny stuff JIC.

A good reminder to be in the moment!
I also suffered an oatmeal burn! Mine blistered on my finger and there is still a mark on my finger. My pregnancy brain got worse after giving birth. It's scary how distracted/forget I get.
I have an almost overwhelming urge to go swimming.
We live across the street from DH's uncle and he has a great pool. We went the other day, but I just dangled my feet in the water because I can't fit in my one piece. His uncle came out and said "Why aren't you in?" I said, "Because I can't fit in my swimsuit!" He told me to go in the clothes I had on, so now I swim in DH's basketball shorts and oversized t-shirt.

I saw string cheese in the fridge at work and now all I want is some motherfucking string cheese. I haven't had that shit in 15 years at least. I ran down to the corner store/talibanwich shop and no string cheese there, either. I has the sadz.

Maybe skip washing the pink tutu and the "Mommy's Handsome Man" onesies. Otherwise, a newborn doesn't care much if things are a touch masculine or feminine or the "wrong" gender. ;-)

I have been pretty regularly buying string cheese while pregnant, and I am not a "string cheese person." It's so weird but whenever I see it it sounds so good to me! (Also, I think string cheese with a handful of almonds is a totally healthy snack that justifies following it up with a graham cracker with chocolate frosting. I am practically a nutritionist over here ;-)).
