@CaseAndDave have you thought about doing half BM/half formula for awhile to see how he takes it?
Honestly, if BFing is making your mental health and time with LO suffer, is it really worth it? That's up to you to decide. You've given him 3 months of BM, which is still excellent. It's a very personal choice, but know either choice you make, LO will be just fine.
FWIW, I've heard that Target brand is really good, just as good as the name brand formulas.
Now that I am a little more with it I want to play dream daycare! I can be a back up to @Babycapps back up nurse! And I volunteer to wash the cloth diapers, it's the only laundry I don't mind doing!
Fuckity fuck fuck. Something is going on with my supply ( this evening when I was feeding LO I ended up feeding him from both sides at multiple feeds, which he rarely to never does. Now it's been 6 hours since he ate (during the day he eats every 2-3 hours, and at night he'll go longer) and I'm not engorged at all. Normally after 4-5 hours I'm at least uncomfortable, right now: nothing.
I'm super stressed out with work and probably not drinking enough water, so I'm gonna do my best to remedy those. TMI alert!!! My CM is different (never been a tracker so idk how to explain it beyond that), so I'm wondering if I'm also gonna start my period soon.
Surgery yesterday totally made my milk supply tank fingers crossed I get it back!
I hope you feel better and that your supply goes back up!
Thank you I am going to power pump today hopefully that helps. I am not allowed to pick up Colton so mh is on baby duty and gives me tons of time to pump it up!
@CaseAndDave I use the Target brand interchangeably with name brand and have nothing bad to say. It is half as expensive and the ingredients are almost identical. They may differ a little on one or two things, by immaterial amounts.
Very personal choice, but your mental health and desire to continue are very very important here. One of the things a lactation consultant said stick with me. She said "I don't care if you breastfeed for 3 months or 3 years. It's okay." Hearing that it was lay from her really helped me process BFing not working out for us. I know that logically it was totally okay, but emotionally it was really hard.
I am still pumping, my paltry 6-9 oz a day. Not sure how long this will last, giving it until I go back to work to see if the schedule works out there. But the time commitment is not easy. Bottle washing sucks, and spending money on something that could be free sucks too. But there are benefits, including the time back to spend with LO and lack of anxiety over supply.
Good luck with the decision, it can be a hard one. But as long as baby gets fed, any decision is a good one if it works for you.
I'm so nervous for our trip, you'd think we never travel. I haven't slept much and it's not LO fault.
The first part is flying to WA state for a wedding. Besides the fact its our first trip as a foursome, its our first time flying with kids period.:-S I feel like if we can survive the airport and flight there and then the return the rest should be fine.
The best part of the vacation is leaving for beach camping Monday. I just wish we didnt have to do this first part.
Good luck today!! I'm sending you happy baby on a plane vibes!
....I'm also super jealous you're beach camping. I've never done it but it sounds fabulous! Good luck!
@caseanddave I use the target brand exclusively and love it. I have had no problems with baby girl while she's been drinking it, and the savings is crazy. You can get over 2 lbs of the gentlease equivalent powder for 25$, and a lot of time it's either on sale for 22$, or there is a 5% off coupon in the cartwheel app (or both!). I started off using enfamil but it was just too expensive. Like I told another bumpie on here, think of this as the next developmental step in his feeding routine (ex, starting rice cereal) instead of a solution to a problem. That way, mentally, you can move forward with it a little bit easier.
Lmao. Someone in my last BMB had a bat in her bedroom. But I think her hubby was calm and removed it while she freaked out and took her LO to urgent care to be checked out (in case it had drooled in LO's mouth, since she didn't see any bite marks).
@caseanddave You gotta do what's best for you and LO (and what's best for LO is often what's best for you). If breastfeeding is causing you a lot of stress, it's probably also causing LO stress. And honestly, if it wasn't for mom guilt (which I have heaps of) and being cheap, I might've made the switch this week too.
@DisneyAddict1 I'm so jealous of your camping trip! And on the beach! Sounds like fun! DH and I love camping and have been trying to decide if we could with LO this summer so let us know how it goes. What is LO sleeping in?
There was just a BAT in our bedroom. While this initially startled me, nothing startled me more than Hubs's reaction. He screamed, hid under the covers, then ran to the other room and emerged with sweats, gloves and a helmet. It was hilarious. Apparently, bats are his big fear and I never knew. M slept through the whole thing like a champ.
I would have done the same :-) Although, I think it would have been hilarious if my hubby did that. Bats are carriers of rabies - and they scare the crap out of me. When I was a kid, we had a colony of them in our attic. When my dad resealed the house, they couldn't get out. So... they started crawling down the inside of the walls looking for a way out. Seriously like a horror movie, the middle of the night they were coming out of the dishwasher, from under the sink, wherever they could find a hole (alongside the plumbing usually) to come through... It was gross. Incredibly gross.

That is horrifying!
I am now super paranoid that this will happen to us!! Our building was built in 1750 so who knows what critters are inside those walls. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep peacefully until we call pest control or someone to see if there is a colony living in the walls!!
Sorry! I've never heard of it happening to anyone else. They just scare the crap out of me! If I hear one when we are outside in the evening, it gives me chills and I have to come back inside.
Maybe it's an UO but I think it's fine for her to sell the samples. If someone will pay why should you have to give them away? People sell formula checks and coupons all the time and they are free.
@scooter028 I use Avent Natural with size 1 and it's pretty slow, no issues since we started that at 4 weeks. No idea if that's the size or style you mean, but I do love Avent products so far.
I use these with size 2 and LO does great with them. Only started at 9 weeks after switching from Playtex Ventair but I think he does much Better with them.
ETA I don't know what I was thinking. We use size 2 which is 1 month+.
I'm going today to get my hair did :-) And my sister is coming along to babysit, I'm so excited! This is way way long overdue. I'm hoping for something that can be professional in a conference room at work yet sexy in the bedroom at home....that's not too much to ask, is it?!
@bsouls when she shares a pic it is shared with everyone on her friends regardless if I'm also friends with them. I know this because they comment on it.
For all other uploaMy settings are friends except aquaintances which she is set as BUT that doesn't include any pics I post to other people =issue today or profile pics.
I do know that if someone is BLocked from the pic and someone shares it then they can't see it. So for example she cannot see anything I upload friends except acquaintances. If my aunt shares a pic which she asked if she could do when I uploaded lo's 2 month pics we tested it out and my gma couldn't see that she shared a pic that originally was blocked from.
Facebook should eliminate the share option for profile pics and cover pics.
You should double check your privacy settings on pictures because if you have it set to friends only and someone shares it, only their friends who are also your friends can see it. Unless she isn't actually sharing but is saving the picture then reposting. As for profile pics you can set those to friends only and even old cover photos can now have the privacy setting changed so they aren't public.

Need help! @amholley1 I'm getting my tattoo tomorrow! Will be able 5cm x 5cm (small). RWH Initials in curly monogram type letters with DOB in roman numerals underneath. I want it on my inner arm. Should I do just above or just below the elbow?
I'm about to get in the shower and drew it on my arm in eyeliner.
I know you didn't ask me - but I like above better. And, my bath towels are the same color :-)
1. The daycare has no speech therapist soooo I can do that. If no kids need me, I will gladly tend to the garden and drink NON virgin mojitos.
2. I'd like to nominate myself for VP of the IBTC. I'd love to get a boob job and just up them to a mid-sized C but my hubs would never agree. Cs would be perfect for my frame.
3. Hope everyone with random medical issues get some answers.
4. I go back to my full time job on Tuesday. Boooo!

Re: FB sharing - MIL has an open non-private FB but still shares literally every photo she can get her hands on. I don't care if her friends see my pics, but she won't change her privacy settings. Here's the problem; I've been estranged from my bio dad and his family for over a decade. They're what I consider dangerous people. My bio grandmother is now sharing photos of my baby on her FB that she is taking from my MILs page. MIL has shared my baby shower invite and my baby announcement, so now those people have my home address and my baby's full name and stats. Wouldn't be too much of an issue if they hadn't threatened my life and stolen my identity in the past... MIL knows all this but doesn't care or didn't listen when she was told...
If you make your setting as friends only if your MIL shares them on her page only your friends would be able to see them not her friends. Now of course that only works if she is not downloading the pics also. You may want to make a special folder that she sees and not have access to the other pics.
FB sharing: my mom shares, likes, and comments on EVERYTHING! It's annoying. I have any pictures of the kids open to my family group only. But when she shares them I believe others not in my family group can see them. She's not talking to me and probably not coming over anymore today because she keeps commenting and liking posts I have in a local selling site. I asked her to stop and she said "I knew that was coming." And hasn't talked to me since. (sorry that turned into a vent!)
There are enough nurses, so I'm just coming to hang out. I can make margaritas for happy hour.
I think @TallAsh is the only one with a clear idea of what this business venture needs to be. Welcome aboard!
As long as there is one sober person to watch the kids. We can take turns. I'll start on Team Drinking though.
This is where it gets complicated. We need 1 sober person for every 3 infants or 5 toddlers. We will need at least 4 people sober at a time if we want to make any money, for more alcohol you know.
Wait, doesn't someone here know how to brew beer, that should be cheaper right???

Only if someone can also make vodka. I guess we need a bathtub . . .

No real point, just freaking out a bit.

Thank you
