Anybody have a recommendation for a refreshing beer I can have at lo's bedtime tonight? Mommy has a craving. I didn't think this would be worth its own thread.
My favorites are all local beers, a honey orange wheat from the Rogue Brewery or a Ruby from McMenamins. I think this topic is worthy of its own thread
I did have a really good wheat beer from a brewery in WI once, it was monkey something (I had a year subscription to beer of the month)
ETA: I might go get some hard cider for this evening as it is my last day off work. A nice cider after dinner to bid my maternity leave good bye.
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
The dogs just went crazy barking after spotting a squirrel and scared LO. He startled so much he farted. I laughed but he wasn't so amused.

If I'm being honest...I'm shocked at how many of you can't leave your LO with your husband. I may bitch about mine sometimes, but he watches our twins by himself while I work and he's damn good at it. The boys love him and he doesn't get too stressed about it. In fact, he sometimes tells me how to do things with them because he sees them more.
This. I must be really lucky. I leave them without a second thought. And he relieves me when he can or knows I really need a break. He usually checks with me and we prioritize stuff like if he wants to ride his bike on a weekend morning. If we could swing it, or whenever we can, he would work PT or not at all to be a SAHD.

DH has been a SAH parent with DS1 while he was studying for his licensing exam and now that he is opening his private practice he is still the main childcare provider while I work outside the home full time. I am never concerned about either kids' welfare while with him. He's their dad, I obviously thought he was worth having kids with so why would I not trust OUR children with him?

I'm fine with leaving Isla with Joe, but I usually make things pretty easy (ie have bottles pre-measured out, etc). He is really good with her, although he did put her leggings on backwards so the ruffle was on the front.
I just don't want to leave her. I like being with her all the time. So far, he stays with her for about an hour each weekend while I grocery shop. It will be more soon, I'm sure.
Let me just say I think bedtime might be one of my fav times of the day because LO will let me hold him like this for as long as want! Any other time he'd be flailing and screaming at me!
Soooo.... there's someone requesting to join the FB group. She's been active on other boards (0-3mos, TTGP, etc) but not too much on our BMB. Yay or nay?
I'm glad the decision was to hold off. With Facebook I feel a bit more exposed so it's nice to know we have good bouncers
On another note, now that I bounce between FB and TB I have trouble deciding which board I will post a fresh thread to... This is difficult for my OCD personality lol
Oh and today SUCKED by the way... 2 weeks ago exactly they said the tunnel inside my still healing still open wound c-section was only 2 cm. Then 3 days later the same nurse discovered that the tunnel was actually 4.5 cm deep. So on Friday I was not eligible to be stitched. A week later (last Friday) the same nurse said the tunnel was now 4 cm deep. TODAY a different nurse said the tunnel was 4.7 cm deep!!! WTF??
So I'm losing confidence in my nursing care because I keep getting screwy measurements. I can't tell (and they can't conclude) if the incision is getting worse or of they are just inconsistent with measuring.
And now for the past 2 days I can barely walk because it hurts so bad...

I'm so over this.
Are you serious?! Every time I read about this I get soooo worried about you. I really hope they can get to the bottom of whatever is going on.
I can't go into details but want sympathy (empathy? I always get those wrong)... Today was my first day back at work from vacation and shit is hitting the fan. I have a terrible headache and all the muscles in my upper back/shoulders/neck are in knots from the stress.
Ugh, I know people were complaining about all the bragging in the Roll Call but I seriously miss not having one!
DS is sleeping and nursing. He started out awake but just put himself back to sleep.
Yeah, no. I used to read the Roll Call thread to commiserate with other people whose babies weren't sleeping well. Not to read about how your kid slept for 9 hours instead of 10 hours and life isn't worth living anymore.
So, our neighbor has a semi... he parked off his driveway in his yard on Friday. Didn't think to move it before we got about 5 inches of rain. So, guess what? It's stuck and he's been out there revving his engine since 5 this morning. Still stuck. My toddler still comes running to me crying every single time he revs his engine. So... freaking... tired... of... this...
I would be so pissed about those trucks!! Our neighbor had 46 (yes 46) trees removed from their yard last week. It was so loud all day and LO had trouble falling asleep but eventually would stay asleep.
I liked the roll call that banned how long LO went but instead was a gtky question, we should do that more.
Today is shots day. I'm happy for LO to start getting immunity to these awful illnesses, but I'm still sad that she will be upset.

Yeah... now there is another truck over there to "help" him get unstuck. Instead, it's just extra noise. The semi has not budged.
Hollands face looks like she was out in the sun yesterday. I'm not sure HOW she got any sun considering she was in the ergo with a hat, to underneath a blanket creating shade, to then a 10x10 canopy that everyone hung out under all afternoon. Her little face looked extra pink last night so she got smothered in a coconut/lavender oil mixture....一and then STTN. Essential oils FTW!
We stayed at the IL's last night and I have an appt this am. Mil said "the apt is for just you right? So you can leave her with us?" BRILLIANT IDEA!! (It's an hour drive there so no fun stops on between) DH will be here too. THIS IS MY FIRST TRIP OUT ALONE (more than making a quick coffee run) I never thought I'd be this excited to go get my iud checked!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah this is all ridiculous. I did voice my concerns the other day and managed to get my case manager switched. I've been very happy with most of the nurses that come to my house with the exception of my case manager who doesn't even order my supplies successfully.. and NO LIE I think I found a strand of her hair under the bandage (i.e. practically in my wound) the other day... fml. So that lady is out of the picture.
I went in the beginning to inquire about a wound vac but I was told that because the majority of my wound is just a small shallow incision and there's only one tunnel on the side that I couldn't get a wound vac. I don't really know what the criteria is for getting a wound vac.
I'm eating/drinking as much protein as possible and I just feel like this is getting no where. The main part of the incision is healing up but that tunnel just won't go away. The pain was pretty non-existent for a week or so until Saturday and now it's back full force.
@SomersIsles I hope the new case manager is better. And you asked about 8-9 week leap a few days ago. Basically a big mental leap according to wonder weeks. Baby learns "patterns". Amounts to a very fussy baby for a few days.
@kirotea Sign me up for any care package for kderoy. And if you need any help researching restaurants or stuff to do in her area once she agrees let me know. I can help out.
Re: poop. I am bringing A to the pedi later today for their first available appt due to his poop. It is still a bit bloody. On Thursday was the first diaper with blood and when I called they said it was fairly common from straining and just to watch it to make sure it looked "on top" instead of "mixed in". Well today he is still having a little bit of blood and it looks more "mixed in" to me so we are going to get it checked. Here's hoping it is nothing more than a little irritation. I am staying away from dr google cause in am sure I will freak out if I read that crap.
@SomersIsles I really would try to have a doctor check that out at this point! I hope it really starts healing soon! @kirotea what a cutie! Good luck figuring out what you're spouses to do today! I just watched as my druggie neighbors car got brought back on a flatbed follower by a cop who took her license plates. Hmmm...
Driving in the car running errands and the only way to get Rhys to stop crying was to blast the 'womb sounds' on my white noise app through the car speakers. Now I'm kind of creeped out because it sounds like there is someone breathing into the microphone while chewing gum. So weird.
@SomersIsles I agree that a provider should look at it. When's your next appointment?
@TallAsh I got sunburned just a couple days ago too! On one hand I'm glad it's finally nice enough here to get burned, and on the other hand......ouch.
And, who is the "I just can't" (I don't want to tag her). Did a reg change her name, or is this someone new? Or have I just not noticed her before?
Was wondering the same. I appreciate a no intro though. They get on my nerves. She must have been lurking for a while if she's new. She knows a lot about the board.
MH just informed me we have enough frequent flyer miles for 1 international ticket. Plus we get 4 miles/$ at Home Depot. Since we just bought a house that we plan on investing $20-30k in I'd say we'll be set to visit @Cmmo14 by about...next week lol
This certainly made my day better!
How do you get miles for money hat home depot? Teach me your ways!

I feel like I'm missing something - somebody point me in the right direction so I can follow the conversation.

I was on the board before under G-I-B-S-O-N Baby1 (the first name was all together but had some issues so I don't want to put the whole thing together now... Having 2 family members due within 2 weeks of me made for lots of emotional outbursts and crazy stalker-ish activities by other family members). Anyway I didn't want to do an intro bc I know they're annoying and I just figured I'd throw myself back in here now that I'm in the swing of things with LO
