Arguing with my mom that it probably isn't a good idea to bring LO with me to the hospital to visit my new niece. Am I just being paranoid? I would leave DD with DH but he's out of town.
Uhhh no. You're totally in the right. I know hospitals don't allow (unvaccinated) LOs during certain times of the year, especially into the baby unit (Go my brain for not being able to think of the real word...) anyway because of germs. Stay at home. Smoosh the new baby at a later date and get pictures from your mama! :-)
She's attempting to guilt trip me saying she was there for you blah blah blah. My mom's annoyed that DH had to go out of town so she's being annoying. I don't always trust her judgement given that she told me she would let DD lick a spicy Dorito she was eating and some ice cream if I wasn't there!
Anyway, yeah, sorry, a 7 week old is not going to the germ and sickness factory. My sister should understand...but she'll probably be all butthurt about it. Enjoy your baby and don't worry about me!
She totes will understand! Maybe you could skype or facetime with her?
Awwww @ColleenSwerb I wish I had a time machine for you. I also wish I could transport all the bumpy cake to you (although if I were able to make that happen would it be cool if I kept a piece for myself?).
Edited: Oh damn. I just saw @3crazykitties post. <3s to you!
I moved M to his P&P last night after his first wake up. It went alright at first, but then from 3 am on he was either cat napping for 15 minutes, grunting out some massive farts, or practicing his vowel sounds at the top of his lungs. Ugh.
@MrsStanton87 I have her sleep in her swing, but she also sleeps her first stretch in there at night since we are still up. Then after the first wake up she goes in the pnp. But I make no effort to turn the tv down or anything.
I just got LO to take a bottle.... Kind of. He was at least receptive to it, not hangry and screaming at it like he has before. He just can't figure out how to suck on it. He'll figure it out, because he has to!

DH clearly felt guilty for last night and cleaned up the house before he left for work.
Also, my kid's biggest social smiles always seem to happen when we are talking about food with her. Last week it was pancakes, today she thought hot dogs were hysterical. Maybe she'll grow up to be a chef!
anybody else's LO fighting sleep? he will be out, even have the limp arm, and will wake up within 20 min of being put down. or he will scream like i'm tearing his limbs off for hours. i know he is tired and hasn't slept for shit. i haven't slept for shit. his eyes have red rings around them. i've changed the diaper, fed him, bounced, rocked, put in his swing, bouncy seat, swaddled, and am now out of ideas. he will do this nightly starting at 10 and lasts til about 3-4am. we get up at 7am to take my BF to work and he falls asleep in the car. wakes back up once we get in the house and the cycle repeats. does anyone have any ideas? he is still too little to CIO and i'm at a loss. maybe i'm just so sleep deprived and can't think clearly. could this be leftover effects of getting his 2mth shots friday? has anyone else gone thru this or something similar? help??
@Jessieann1020 I went bak yesterday I miss my little man and freedom. Lotsa ugly cries yesterday but today isn't as bad! Worst part for me is pumping on my breaks and lunch and getting up earlier to get someone else ready! Good luck tomorrow

Don't take her.... There's currently a measles outbreak in my city. So scary.... 12 cases in my city and a total of like 25 or more in the province. One of the exposure areas was a hospitals labour and delivery ward. Oh an dmore recently a daycare. Keep baby away from places like that.
@sarlimes34 8 weeks is in the middle of the second wonder week. Maybe that has something to do with it? No idea for it could be vax related, we are still at 6w so we haven't got shots yet.
We're going through this, too...Willa is 8 weeks, too and hasn't gotten shots yet. She'll only take a nap longer than 15-20 minutes on my body in the Moby. The trade off seems to be that she's finally going longer stretches at night.
Grr. I would rather be put on hold than asked to leave a message for a nurse to call me back, any day. That shit annoys me probably more than it should. PukeyPants projectile vommed on me from the changing table, on his back. Everything I'm reading says excorcist vomit is not the same as spitting up and you have to talk to your pedi about it. Kiddo is a month old, doesn't lose his shit when he pukes or eats, but pukes like it is his job. He's gaining weight like a champ but has a huge appetite. Anyone else have any experience with a puke shooter, while I'm waiting for the nurse to call me back?
@sarlimes34
Kid is fighting sleep here too. It's exhausting.
Mine fights naps like it's his job, and the same with his first stretch of sleep at night. The swaddle and swing combo works pretty well for naps, and bedtime he fights less if he's napped better during the day.

I had one for the first 4 weeks. We had to take him to all childrens hospital and get ultrasounds done to check for a blockage. The blockage normally shows up around 3-5 weeks. His first ultrasound it looked like he had it, but the second one was good. So they said he was probably just over eating and to limit his boob time, 5 mins of feeding and then burp, if still hungry then 5 more mins and burp and so on.
Seems like the EASY method works more cowboy style for us AESY. But it's flawless this way..
Were doing a variation of it too...EAESY...so far so good
We just started today and I find myself impatient and frustrated that EASY isn't working for us. It's nice to see that variations work. I think we are better suited for AESY as well! Sometimes I have a hard time thinking outside the box.
ETA I am reading the secrets of the baby whisperer and apparently am doing everything wrong.
Is this nbd? I just realized the receptionist at the pediatrician's office scheduled our 2 month appt for at the calendar 2 month mark (June) not 8 weeks. DD will be 11 weeks at that point. Will it mess up any of the shots?

Ours is 2m+2d by calendar months, so 11 and a half weeks I guess. They didn't mention it when I scheduled the appointment. I doubt it matters, but at least you'd be early and could schedule for later if it does. Or call to find out if you don't want to risk having to make an extra trip.
I may call just to make sure. But I did make the 4 month appt too an she scheduled it the same way so the spacing between shots should be the same. So I'm sure it doesn't matter. I mean, the receptionist should know how to schedule right?
T&Ps for my mom please. They saw something in her mammogram last week, so she has to have a biopsy tomorrow. She won't admit she's worried or stressed about it, but I can tell she is.
Apparently it is possible to bathe a baby and nurse him at the same time... Kiddo really needed a bath, but he's been squawky for the last few days, and baths typically make him lose it completely. Washing his hair and he's screaming and rooting at my bathrobe. Ok, kid, you win, here's a tit.
And it worked.
Here's his happy face after his bath, wardrobe change, and two diaper changes.
I just watched Cy go to sleep in his swing, all by himself, without any rocking or help from me. I was so pleased... Until he woke up three minutes later. Why won't this kid nap? Argh.
Same thing just happened here!!!

April 14 August Siggy Challenge- "This time last year.."
Is it possible to go through a leap without the nasty side effects? (The crying and cluster feeding) I was reading ahead and DD can do almost all of those skills already but I don't remember a fussy period. I mean, I'm not complaining if it's true. I'll take it.
@ColleenSwerb the poor dog! He's a trooper! I bet that would make an awesome picture. I'm closer to giving in to DH and getting a dog so DD can grow up with one.
Patio beers with some girlfriends tonight...yes please!
Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks to you ladies I busted out LO's playmat just over a week ago and he loves it! I feel bad I didn't do it sooner, but I honestly thought that's something I'd use when he was like 2-3 months old. Shows you what I know!
LO hates his mat, swing, and bouncy. So that's why I'm drinking tonight.
