@merie412 - it's still swollen and in pain! Just a little better than yesterday.

Would you guys do anything at this point? Call the dr tomorrow? Wait until my weekly on Wednesday? I can hobble around but it hurts to put weight on it still. Is the dr just going to think I'm a pain in the ass if I call tomorrow?

I'd call tomorrow. They're open for normal hours and a phone call is no bother. I hope your ankle feels better!

    Thanks @Mia081081‌!

I'm sorry about your team green reveal, btw. Will you keep it a surprise from DD until the big day?

  • Should I be worried that one foot/ankle is significantly more swollen than the other?

Yes I'd get it checked out... I have been swollen forever and have mild pre eclampsia. They're always concerned if one leg/foot/ankle is more swollen than the other as it could be a blood clot. This isn't to freak you out! I'm sure all is totally fine. But worth having them look at.

  • @JujuB22‌ That is so exciting! Every step of progress towards home feels awesome! Hopefully he can come home soon!

Well, that's good to know. My right foot/ankle is more swollen than my left. I guess I will bring that up!

@MrsP419‌ -- you've already had two though. We are total rookies!! It took us a full week to get ourselves together. Recognizing cues, positioning each boy differently, what delivery system to use for pumped milk (we had started with syringe feeding and couldn't keep up with demand, so finally switched to bottles and then had to retrain them to eat). I'm sure you'll do fine and if not, you know who to text in the middle of the night for some company :D.
@CAMag: You are so sweet and encouraging, but I think breastfeeding twins is hard whether it is your 1st and 2nd or 6th and 7th.  There is always that learning curve.  I guess one benefit to having been through it before is I can recognize some of the "struggles" without worrying about something being terribly wrong (DD and I had SUCH a hard time in the beginning and it was like the end of the world for me as I worried).  You are amazing to be doing so well with the recovery challenges you have!

@strawberrydreams219 - that is scary and completely unacceptable!  They better return it... and give you a nice discount on whatever other car seat you want, IMO.  Where did you buy it?  I would be calling their customer service department and really pushing them on the subject.  That is not OK.

  • How long did it take to get GBS results?  I had my swab on Thursday and haven't gotten my results back yet.  I thought it was a quick test.

Mine was quick, only a couple days. I bet the holiday has them running behind though.

I was GBS- so they just told me at my next appt.

@MommyP710‌ wow! Time has flown! So sweet!
@jclester614‌ that's gross, and weird.... And suuuuuper uncomfortable. You should have said "it's just as odd as saying hi, I just met you, let me crack jokes about your vagina!"

  • My feet/ankles/calves have never been so swollen. At what point should I be worried? At my last appointment they told me to call if my face started swelling. No swelling in the face, but occasionally it gets tingly. I have an appointment Thursday, but I'm considering calling tomorrow morning if my feet don't deflate. I've done the bloodwork for pre e and the 24 hr urine catch because of my swelling but those came back normal. My BP is also fine (110/80 last week).

Not sure if it's just swelling because I'm at the end of the road or if it's something to be concerned about..

At my appt today I had the GBS swab to do, and at the last minute the midwife was like, "Actually you can do it yourself if you want." Which I did, not only bc I enjoy my privacy but bc I had never met this one before and she had made a bunch of jokes about seeing vaginas all day.

When I first came in, she introduced herself and then as she was washing her hands she goes, "Thanks for taking your pants off. It's funny, isn't it? 'Hi, I just met you, I'm here to look at your vagina.' But that's what I do all day."

And also: "It's like a face, they're all different but all kind of the same. But it's not like I could pick yours out of a lineup or anything."

    Made me suuuuuper uncomfortable.
But what if your cervix was like, REALLY cute tho?

    ------quote fail--------

@lyracelesti‌ Her loss, I did the swab myself. Now she'll never know.

@jshrop‌ I thought I was maybe being too uptight, so thank you for validating me, lol. DH thought it was weird too when I told him.

I'm never sure either, @ricecakes1216‌. For weeks my dr would ask about swelling, then when I finally told him it was noticeable, he was all "oh that's normal." I guess I'd be concerned depending on the level of pain?

I've been swollen for MONTHS and it's ridiculous. Asked at every appt if it's concerning and they always said no, it was just a typical fun pregnancy thing. It was only when I started showing urine and high BP that they got a little freaked and have upped the monitoring.

They had suggested to me to drink lemon water and eat lots of watermelon to help with swelling. Also, keep the fluids coming in, because as strange as it sounds it'll help.

Swelling sucks man, I feel for ya.

  • @lest12‌ I'm glad I'm not the only one that's unsure. Pregnancy has made me question myself so much! I feel like a crazy person!

Me too! The dr's office doesn't always helped. I called today about my sprained ankle and she literally said "I don't know what to tell you.... (Silence)... The doctors not even here, so..." I don't even know what I expected but she made me feel like such a moron! Anyway... I found soaking my feet in Epsom salt helped.... As did walking, believe it or not (maybe it just helped circulation?). Hope you find some relief!

@ricecakes1216‌ - she's always kind of bitchy. I'll talk to the dr tomorrow...the thing is, it's so swollen, but I don't know how much is swelling from the sprain, or just you know, from being pregnant. Are we there yet?!
