Don't even try to tell me there's a woman out there who can set her pump to max power. That would rip my nipple right off.
Guilty. This am I went to turn it up and realized it was at max.... My boy sucks like a vacuum, I am 100% desensitized.
Omg I'm so sorry! It feels like my nipples are being stung by bees if I turn it past a quarter of the way. You're a champ!
How do you tell if your kid has a hard suck? I think mine does, but only because DH yells "ow!" when she uses a finger as a pacifier. He then says how sorry he feels for me and I just smile.

I had the most amazing weekend. DD and I went had a girl's day, including coffee (hot chocolate) and sharing huge cinnamon rolls from my favorite local bakery. We painted our nails, walked around the farmer's market, and went to the mall. DH and I had a fantastic time at the wedding. We went to the fair and DD was beside herself with excitement. I got to wear DS in the k'tan. I got my first sunburn of the year, which means summer is around the corner in the Rockies. We had a lovely dinner at our friend's home and now we're all relaxing. I so believe @jellysparkles is right, life is balance. I am so grateful things are looking up. I'm also so grateful for all of your support during what may have been the most stressful time in my life thus far. Much love <33
So happy for you @kseccomb17 ! You deserve it! Hopefully this is the first of many good weeks to come! (Totally jealous of the fair, I love fairs and the one here isn't until September)
Thanks guys! I just need to live in the moment more; appreciate all the small things. I can't dwell on what happened or what's to come, I need to enjoy the now. The accident was a huge wake up call for us!
I'm so glad things have started to turn around @kseccomb17 sounds like you all had an amazing weekend. I sure hope it stays this way for a nice long time
Lana just unleashed a very strong bowel movement and it woke the dog. I'm secretly happy because his barking woke up SO who had accidentally woke the baby when he came to bed and decided that was the time to talk, loudly, about going to a farm stand. Unfortunately, any time any of them wake up, I wake up, so I'm only a little happy
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...

We officially have our first chest cold. Any tips to make her more comfortable besides steaming up the bathroom and sitting in there? I feel so bad for her.

We are at the end of a cold here... We got a humidifier and put it in her room also, beyond taking her into the steamy bathroom. Our only saving grace has been saline drops... We put them in, she gets mad, but within a few minutes she will sneeze and get a lot of it out. Doctor said saline is fine, and doesn't matter how much you use it.

Haha- my DH says the same thing! Mine latches to anything... Your arms, cheeks, through shirts... He is a human barnacle! How quickly does she feed? Not sure if that is telling. Mine eats for 10 min-burp-10 min.

I don't know why, but I feel guilty sitting here having my coffee and bumping while LO is sitting behind me wide awake in his chair. He's been awake for 3 hours every morning the last week, and I already did a half hour of play mat and 15 minutes of tummy time.
...mommy guilt
This is the thing I feel guilty about the most! If we want to watch tv and she's awake, I feel guilty. I feel like we should interact with her at least 90% of the time she's awake.

Along with saline drops, we've been using the nose frida. I was also told to keep her elevated when she sleeps, which I already did.

Yeah the nose Frida helps a bunch. And I did notice how she slept better in the swing, I just wasn't sure how safe that was for all night. And I guess I need to pick some saline drops today!

What sort of chair do you have? M has recently discovered this whole "sitting upright" thing, and I'm tired of constantly having to hold him up.
James cried on and off (mostly "on") for nearly three hours this morning. After multiple feedings, diaper changes, snuggles, kisses, and even a temperature check to make sure he wasn't overheated, I was crying myself and ready to bang my head into a wall somewhere. I left him in the swing crying to take a shower/regroup and by the time I came out he was asleep. WTAF, child?!
I am now pumping while I drink coffee and telling myself I'm not a bad mother for not always being able to calm my baby down. Why is this so hard? Every day seems like a roller coaster with him lately--he switches gears from happy/giggly to screaming until his face goes red in a matter of seconds.
Holy cow, I just woke up ON MY OWN at 8:30. DH took DS downstairs when he woke up at 5 and I didn't even notice. I'm so happy I could cry, I haven't been able to wake up on my own for so long! <:-P

FFMC: I've never had a problem with pacifiers, have used them on so many kids over the years and have always thought they were awesome. But something about putting one in my own child's mouth makes me feel like I'm gagging her. Watching Silence of the Lambs the other day didn't help.

DH is going fishing with a friend today. It's nice to see him so happy. I think the babies and I are going to have a movie day with lots of laying around and Netflix.
I really don't understand Carter's sizing. Their "Just One You" line runs big and their "Child of Mine" line runs small but their actual line/store size seems to fall somewhere in-between.

Sometimes Porter makes the gagging sound like he just does not want it in there... Then I give up for a bit, I think it traumatizes us more than them lol

Haha I meant gagging for silence, not like making her gag. But she does that, too.

I told DH how much I still weigh and he (accidentally?) said "Daaaamn." I'm never talking to him again. (
DH saw might weight just before I gave birth written on some paperwork at the hospital and asked if I really weighed that much. I really thought he knew better than to ask that.

The baby lullabies station on Pandora should always be commercial free. LO is almost asleep and then some stupid Allstate ad comes on and wakes her up!
Took LO on a 3 mile hike in his carrier, mid hike he had a huge blow out of hot poop all over me and the carrier... 2 miles from home. Currently thinking of how I will make him pay for this when he's a teenager. Yuck!
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
I *know* he's too young for a sleep pattern. I *know* I need to go with the flow. But my super organized, over-analytical and anxious self wants to try to control, measure and manipulate everything.
Everyone keeps saying 'he's too young for this and that' and all I can think is 'yeah but someday he WONT BE! Better to start now!' except all it ends up doing is confusing me and making me frustrated.
Also the advice out there is so varied, I feel like I can't get a straight answer on anything. I know all babies are different, so that's probably why. This is making me crazy! I'm not good at this X_X
@dani+california We started just bringing LO into our routine and he is now like clock work 6:30pm he eats gets in pjs and sleeps all through our dinner and our shows he wakes up about 930 I feed him swaddle him and he goes back to sleep so do we. We started like this and he's just adapted. Are you trying a routine at all right now?

This is kinda what we do. If he happens to stay up while we have our dinner we let him hang out at the dinner table in his bouncer.
