@dani+california Ansel just started doing that, too. He's 4w3d today. He used to snuggle up and go right back to sleep. Last night he was up for 1.5 before he went back to sleep. At least he slept a long time before that. I don't know how much he eats since we are breastfeeding, but DH have him 5oz last weekend and he puked. So 5 was too much I guess. He also let him chug it though instead of pacing him.
@rockstarlaw I'm trying to get him to calm to specific songs. We are working on Sounds of Silence, I started when I was pregnant.
For actual baby/kids music though, I go with Raffi songs: Baby Baluga, Joshua Giraffe, Down by the Bay... songs I remember as a kid but I also don't know all the lyrics.
Baby beluga is M's jam. He loooooves that song. I am getting sick of singing it lol!
I've got to AW Ansel's 1 moth photos. All snuggled up with his size-reference otter:
So cute!! And damn it, I wish I had done this!
Not too late to start!
I'm doing a weekly photo session right now. I didn't think to add anything specific for size reference. She always gets a pic in the same chair though.
Thanks @mamrotu73 I might have to pick something up today. He was way worse yesterday day, it was coming out both ends so if he isn't back to normal tomorrow I may take him in to make sure he isn't actually sick. He seems to have a very sensitive stomach so thats why I'm assuming it was food related, we had to suddenly change foods when we couldn't find his normal kind.
You can try boiled unflavored and unseasoned chicken breast with boiled white rice. If he's vomiting fast him for 12-24 hours then start the bland diet. If he's vomiting on an empty stomach he should go to vet.

Thanks @nicole mackenzie. The vomiting stopped once he got the "bad" food out of his stomach. I withheld food the day it started and eased him back to his normal diet after 24 hours. His stool was more firm today but still diarrhea. Should I feed him as normal today?

I need help My poor dude is having some painful gas lately, it breaks my heart to see him pushing an grunting and turning red. I got the gas drops and a probiotic like the Dr recommended but it's not solving the problem. How can he randomly get this I'm EBF and my diet hast changed?

LO puts my nips through hell at every feeding even though the latch looks good. Pain subsides after 30-90 seconds but hurts enough to make me dread BF. Thoughts?
Also- the small one has fallen asleep on me, trapping me in bed. Mom needs to poop..

I would say around 2-3 weeks I was having toe curling pain when LO would latch. I hummed and rocked to help me deal because yelping always made her fall off and I'd have to do it again. It gets better!
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...

Unfortunately it's just their digestive system maturing - I assume Porter's number of poops has suddenly decreased this week, too? Fi is right there as well.
Yes! Like one a week. His farts are unruly!

I got myself the ktan (yay!) but I am curious as to how this is gonna work with this horrible east coast heat and humidity. I absolutely hate the humidity since I'm from a dry state. I'm not used to it and wonder how bad it'll be with a baby strapped to my chest.
Also, @pineconey, the initial latch still hurts for me at almost 4 weeks but it is nothing compared to that toe curling I had in the beginning. I assume it eases up/gets easier over time.

The lactation consultant at my pediatrician prescribed me some miracle compound ointment that has helped my nipples and the pain TREMENDOUSLY. It says mupirocin 2%/betamethasone 0.1%/micon...label cuts off, so I'm not really sure what it is, but it's amazing. Maybe ask the LC at your next appointment if you could get something similar?

I was wondering when the poop frequency decreases? DS is almost 6 weeks and he is not slowing down.

Wubbanubs are another one of the best baby inventions ever! After zero naps in the car because the paci would fall out and wake her up I couldn't stand it anymore. Dropped DH off at the work thing and found a BRU. Pacifier stays in mouth and both of us are happy!

This is Charlie too. She grunts and turns red from like 5:30 am to 9am, then again during the day. Sometimes she lets out a cry with it. I hope that phase passes soon!
At what weight do babies get to 0-3 clothes? Newborn is still plenty big in weight for LO but she's a little too tall for them. She's still swimming in 0-3.
@pinceconey I sang Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" all throughout pregnancy and I bawl whenever I sing it to Merri to soothe her.
@dani+california My little girl is doing this right now. I'm pretty sure she sucks down a gallon at a time so I nurse her reeeeeeeeeeeal slowly. I'm nursing every hour a day and not because I'm going slow...but because she's growing. A lot.
@celticlullaby Are you the Grey's Anatomy fan? The finale? WAAAAAAH.
@aronie82 Don't read it. Don't. Just send good love and good juju and support.
Had my work meeting today. Merri wouldn't have been any more different than she's ever been in her whole entire 25 days (25 days...WTF?!?!?) of existence. My sleep-through-the-morning baby is fussy as hell, only sleeping on mommy and wanting my booby every hour.
Thank the lord my new job is rad and kid-friendly and didn't care that I had to nurse her four times in 2 1/2 hours.
@Rouge237 For some reference Logan is just over 11 lbs and a little over 21 inches, he is wearing 0-3 and 3 month clothes. He still can fit into some newborns but not much.
Edit: damn auto correct

LO started fitting into carters 3 months at about 8.5-9 lbs, but mostly because of length. It also kind of depends on the brand, I find the "just one you" brand runs bigger so she is still too small for their 3 month and shels probably closer to 9.5 lbs now.
I second this. Merri is probably around 10 pounds now at 3 1/2 weeks and can wear Carters 0-3. I've also noticed, though, that these shrink in the wash.
I'm burnt out on cloth diapering and I can't bring myself to tell DH. He has always told me that I can do whatever I want since I'm home all day but I feel guilty for wanting to take a break since we save so much money.
I've been doing it for 4 years now.

We have the length issue too. And DD's feet are HUGE and won't fit the newborn feetie pjs anymore. She just has to swim in them until she doesn't.
Yeah, DD is 21.5 inches but only 7lbs, 9 oz (80-90th percentile for height and 15th for weight), so all the footies fit so weird haha. Thanks all, I agree the Carter's brand seems to fit the slimmest compared to others.
Penny is the same with newborn clothes.... Her feet are long and don't fit in the footies. She's also JUST the right length for them and there are a few things that have been washed a few times and shrunk so they are tight. She's only 7 and a half pounds so she swims in anything bigger!
Ok, safe or not safe? I'm thinking of clipping a pacifier clip to the straps of DD's car seat. She always manages to sit on the stupid thing and then panics when I can't reach it. @ColleenSwerb? You're the car seat momma...
Luke's 2 month appt was today. Still haven't officially doubled birth weight but soooo close 10lbs 2 oz my little chunk.
Shots were no fun. Turned beat red and screamed. We finally got him calm and I dropped my keys on his chest. Mother of the year. He just looke at us like "how could you let this happen? You're supposed to protect me" the betrayal in his eyes broke my heart!!
@Emily041285 I hears techs recommending clipping it to the cover rather than the straps.
@toothpastechica If I were to suggest that then DH would just have us by disposables...its really own guilt getting my the way of taking a break. Its been a rough week with my dog and his poop so maybe I'll feel better keeping up with everything once I'm no longer wash stuff with dog poop on it too.

Glad the vomiting stopped! I agree it was likely from the change in good. Some dogs are so sensitive.
I would feed the bland diet until he has normal stools than transition back to regular diet over a couple of days.

LO made me cry the first week or so when she latched here's what my LC recommended.
Put breast milk on your nipples and let them air dry. I also used lasinoh on my nipples every day, but not after every feeding. LO didn't like the taste.
Rotate nursing positions.
It gets better with time.
Hope you get relief soon. Week three has been much better for me so hopefully it's the same for you
Calling stm+ who took the mini pill last time... Did it dry up your supply?
I have this same question. I started the mini pill last Saturday and maybe it's just DD hitting a growth spurt but she's been nursing longer than before. She's also started crying and unlatching every time and she didn't previously. I burp her every time she does it but she only burps a quarter of the time. I hope my supply isn't dropping!

I burnt out just researching it and imagining how to fit in the extra laundry. So I applaud your 4 years. Perhaps take a 1 month break and if your life is just soo much easier the stick with disposable If it's not that much different go back?!
I just might do that.
