  • I have longish hair and no greys (yet) so I get my hair trimmed maybe 4 or 5 times a year at supercuts.  It's 20.00.  I have actually never had my hair done at a salon, but for whatever reason, can't bring myself to spend money on that.  I would rather buy clothes or shoes.

    Also, these are delicious

This makes me sad.  Frozen custard is the best, one of the best things of the summer.  You should find some.

  • Wait a minute. Is Felicia Day on Supernatural?

She was for a few glorious seasons. I wouldn't be surprised if she came back in Season 10, but I think she's in an alternate universe with her lady love right now.

Early confession?  I order them by the case on Amazon.  I get made fun of on the reg for eating them, so glad I am not the only one (under age 90) that likes them!

I usually get vanilla custard with cherry dip (the hard shell stuff).  It's heaven.

  • Even the word custard sounds gross to me for some reason.

It's a staple in WI. Come to me @justaphase!!! Hee hee...come.
Culvers is a national treasure. Cheese curds got me through many a college hangover.
I just recently went to a Culvers for the first time, and now it is the only fast food I want. It's only a bit more costly than McDonalds, BK, etc., yet the burgers are 1000x better. So good.

  • I don't like Cheese Curds.
  • Confession: I have never had custard or gelato. I feel like I'm really missing out

I haven't either. Gelato looks like slimy ice cream. And custard, again just sounds gross.

There was this one time I was up in WI with XH and he ate a butter burger.  Well we were going to see DMB and we got stuck in this looonnnggg line of traffic into the venue (like 2-3 hours just to park) and XH had to pee....so he went to go in the woods and came back with no underwear on.  I was all ??????? and he was like "I sharted and I blame that damn butter burger."

We never ate butter burgers again.

    The end.
    What is this butter burger?

It is a burger made of butter?

Your husband deserved the sharting incident.
It's just a burger, but they put like half a stick of butter on the bun.

  • Guess what I order when I go there??? BET YOU CANT
    Potatoey fries?

  • Here is the recipe for the custard.  She calls it "ice cream" but she ain't right... ice cream doesn't have 6 egg yolks in it....

    That looks delicious.

  • I have never had a cheese curd. Doesn't sound good. I love cheese but the word "curd" sickens me.
It's a cheese stick in nugget form.

    Like a mozzarella stick?

That's the recipe I used for JW's ice cream cake. I mixed in crushed World Peace cookies from Smitten's website. But I'm confused- this is frozen custard? I thought some ice cream was custard based and some wasn't. My entire ice cream world is upside down right now.

PS- this recipe makes some fucking delicious ice cream.

ETA: I thought GOOD ice cream was custard based.

I don't think Culvers has the best custard, but the burgers are amazing.

  • I actually like Fried Cheese Curds, but fresh ones are weird.  I don't like my cheese to be squeaky.
  • How do we feel about slaps? Imma be honest

No seriously we go to Culver's every single Friday night.

We are at Culver's once a week. Sour dough patty melt is fucking amazing.
  • I might need to go to Rita ' s when nap time is over because of this thread.

Cheese curds are NOT cheese sticks or mozzerella!

They're like pre-cheese cheese Like before the cheese hits puberty.
I'm sorry. All I think of is the vernix that is on newborns right when we get them when I hear curd. Vom

I only like them deep fried.  And once deep fried, they are irresistible.

I think anti-bacterial hand gel is an ok and somewhat effective alternative if you can't actually wash your hands, but not a substitute. I wouldn't feel good eating a sandwich after changing a poopy diaper, even if I used the hand gel.

    Why?
Because of poop particles, I'm guessing.
But the gel kills the poop spores.
I was on a plane and just got back to this, but yeah, I'd just rather make sure everything is washed completely off my hands rather than antibacterial-izing it with gel.
