UOs. Let's do this thing.

Re: UOs. Let's do this thing.

  • I am new so I will jump in with my thoughts and UO

My Kid Loves the shit out pouches - I don't think it's lazy - he eats regular meals but if he wants a pouch as a snack instead of a cookie - fine by me. This must be sarcasm but link to old thread?

I do think that not all DUI offenders are bad, that most have made a sport of it before being caught, only a few have special circumstances, BUT all multiple offenders should have to have those things on the steering wheel you have to blow into before driving a car - IF they are given their license back at all.

I did the cart cover for 2 weeks until I  forgot i owned one in the first place.

    Prostitution should be legal.

I don't know what mini boden is.

My Judgement UO is a FB one:

How any mother has the time or money for a full on birthday party type themed bi weekly play date - complete with goodie bags - is beyond me, but whatever floats your boat I guess. HOWEVER the play dates the rest of us host where we are still in our yoga pants, some kids are still in pjs, we have a box of coffee cake and are making the coffee while cleaning the crumb filled counters are not any better or worse than yours and we don't need a blog to show us how to do it right - since we clearly don't love our kids enough to do it the way you think we should. Thanks anyway for the private invitation to take a look before picking the day  we want to host.

Parenting, juggling a job, working on your marriage, and just  staying a float in life  is hard yo - we don't need that kind of pressure or judgement on top of it!

    That is all.

  • I was attacked by a dog when I was young. At a neighbor's house it squeezed through their backyard fence. I saw it coming and thought it just wanted to play with us in the front yard but it tackled me and bit into my shoulder and broke the skin through a thick spring coat. Thank god for the coat.

    I don't like dogs.

He doesn't come on the hip hop station boo. I think you'd like Sing, though. It has a bit of soul to it.

If you came out and said "I don't like this brand" that shit is not the same as "I think this brand sucks".

It's a mother fucking issue of mother fucking semantics and nuance in the goddamn English language.

    Fuck.
    Do you need a hug?

    Or a scone?

I saw your photo shoot preview on hdbd and it was such a good pic and I love your tat/sleeve. I don't remember if it was technically a sleeve or not.

You should really branch out on your musical genres, mbenit.

@Sterling13, my little one turns 1yr old next month. I am still wearing my elastic waist maternity dress pants to work. They are SO comfortable. I am dreading giving them up for pants with zippers / button again.
I can't fit my maternity pants over my thighs now. Kinda jealous of this confession.

I think stiff jeans and the like are unnecessary on babies. Cute, maybe, but they have an entire life ahead of them where they will be expected to wear uncomfortable pants most of the time. Soft pants are the way to go for littles, IMO.
Aren't most toddler jeans pretty soft and loose?
I got a box of hand-me-downs for DS which had a lot of jeans and corduroys... GenuineKids brand, I think? They were all super stiff, really thick fabric and he couldn't really move around in them well. I think they were 9-12 mos, too. Maybe some of the higher quality brands are softer, but these were hellish.

  • I guess this might be more of a FFC than an UO but I don't understand how a mother could NOT snap when their children are harmed by adults. Maybe that says more about how I was raised than anything else but I fully would expect to wind up in jail if anyone hurt my family and I am ok with that. I am not saying that's right but it's where my brain defaults.

Also - my cat would tear shit up if that was my kid in the video.

Seems like you are projecting. What someone else does or does not do should not make you feel any type of way about what you do or do not do. If it does, seems like a personal issue.

Like should crafty moms stop making things so as not to make others feel bad about themselves?

I would appreciate crafty moms putting nothing on the interwebs for me to see or compare myself to. How is this unreasonable?
I appriciate the crafty and never really gave it much thought - like this must be her thing that's cool - UNTIL she sent us a group message to take a look at her blog with play date ideas so we can come up with more appropriate themes and activities when we host.

This is complicated for me. Since I'm all DS has, while I'd maybe like to snap and do something that could get me hurt or put in jail if someone were to harm DS, I have to be really, really calculated in how I respond. It would obviously start with defending DS from the assault and getting him to safety, but I wouldn't be able to act on vengeance after that. He would end up in custody of the state if I got locked up, and to me that's way worse than letting someone off easy even if they deserve to get their ass beat.

That's probably the proper level headed response that isn't my default.

Maybe if your pants are uncomfortable, you have the wrong size. I can cartwheel, pussy pop, chase a kid, dance, run etc. in my jeans.

I have never had a kid tell me their pants were uncomfortable.

I am not anti you putting yours in soft pants but don't assume people in not soft pants are uncomfortable.

Even the right size in the wrong pants is uncomfortable, though. Plus, have you seen men's dress pants lately? I can't imagine those things are comfortable.

    DEAD.

  • Late to the party as usual. I go on a walk, come back and this thing is fucking 500 pages. Is no one working today??? So re: protective mommy bear behavior a la cat vs. Dog video.... if anyone threatened my kid I would be going to jail, no doubt about it. I become VERY defensive when it comes to my family. My H had a drunk friend attack him basically once. H was playfully punching him in the arm (not hard at all) and the kid flipped and beat the crap out of H then took off. He needed stitches in his forehead, broken tooth, whole nine yards. Another friend commented in front of me that H deserved it and I WENT OFF. Someone actually had to pull me away before I clawed his eyes out, I was that pissed. Long story short, if anyone even side-eyes my child I will probably rip their tongue out. Tl;dr do not mess with my family.

  • @mbenit4:  I have never been in a Bump FB group, or asked to join, or even assoicated with (or thought of probably) outside of this board.  But I think that I am in the minority here, that 3rd wheel friend that keeps randomly posting & won't go away ;)
