Re: sex on the wedding night. I basically made my husband do it- we were both exhausted and a little tipsy (mayyyybe more than a little) but I thought there would be a weird pressure later if we didn't just do it. Weird! I'm weird!
Even better, at our wedding we failed to arrange for transportation from the reception to my parents house (where we spent our wedding night, bow chicka wowwow) and my brother's 17 year old girlfriend had to give us a ride in her two-door VERY high school car. Hilarious!
Lastly, my mom high-fived me on my wedding day because I was the first on her side of the family not to be pregnant or have a child before the wedding. 8 years later we decided it was finally time!
Nope, this is lastly- BURN ALL THE MAT CLOTHES. I think we should have a sacrificial burning after we've all had our babies- to...uh...I don't know...ensure the health of them or something? Whatever it is for, we should definitely burn them when we're done.
Just catching up on this thread. I'll join the didn't have sex on our wedding night club. I was too tired and so sick. I managed to get a bad sinus infection under control to make the trip to Vegas but the minute we landed it flared back up again. I had to resort to Afrin to get me through the day without mouth breathing through the ceremony. Being that sick when it was 100+ degrees really killed the energy level.
I stared into my closet today and all of my cute spring/summer work clothes and wondered if I'll ever wear them again.
To each their own on the real wedding/marriage issue. There's more than one way to do things, terms mean different things to different people.
Now everyone focus on ME and do a little "baby A is no longer breech" dance for me this morning before my appointment to check.
And i'm so totally kidding about that last one to focus on me. Just trying to move the topics on
As a lover of weddings, parties, any kind of event... I am all about people getting married however they want, as many times as they want, wherever they want. I will throw this one out there for you to judge...
DH and I got married on April 10, 2010. Tons of family, tons of friends, the whole shebang... On April 15, 2010 (yes, 5 days later) We did a "vow renewal" on the beach in Jamaica because that is how we originally wanted to get married. Our family threw a big fit wanting to have the big party so we did the big family wedding first. Just having DH and I on the beach in Jamaica was absolutely beautiful and a moment I will never, ever forget. Very romantic and personal. Then, this year April 15, 2014 we had our marriage blessed in the Catholic church. This is basically where the church will sacramentally acknowledge your marriage (DH just turned Catholic at Easter). It was a small ceremony, but very special to everyone involved. So yes, we have had 3 weddings... Yes, we joke that we have THREE anniversaries to celebrate all 5 days apart. No, I wouldn't change any of the memories spent with DH, our large family, our small gathering at our blessing... none of it. And to be completely honest, I am crafty and thrifty and did it all for a budget much less than most people spend on one wedding! So I don't consider myself princessy! I don't think it matters which wedding is "real" for lack of better word. They all meant something completely different and it has been just perfect. Also, DH is really stuck with me for life now that he has married me 3 times!
Congrats to all the ladies getting married now, getting married in the future, and married in the past. It's your life, you get to make it what you want! Everyone has different circumstances, and I am not one to judge! Especially if it involves a party!
@otter1103 I just danced for you! It wasn't pretty since I am big and pregnant, but I am hoping for news that says baby is no longer breech! My LO was transverse until last week... when doctor said "She's head down!" I nearly danced on the examination table... even though I was pantless! Keep us updated!
I just read this article about probiotics and childbirth that said if you have a c-section they (the articles authors) suggested having the doctors swab your lady bits and then stick it in baby's mouth to get the fungi passed to LO (I think that's right). Again if that floats your boat kudos, but that kinda made me ick just a lil.
pretty sure my OB would laugh in my face if I requested this. I mean in some ways I could see how it could make some sense, sort of like how csection babies don't get that beneficial squeeze of their lungs like with a vaginal birth (totally different topic though) but when I really think about it, it just doesn't seem like a good idea IMO
DH and I totally "consummated" the marriage the night of our wedding and it was probably my favorite sex ever. We were both so jazzed up from the awesomeness of the day.
And we also forgot to arrange a ride from the hotel back to my parents where our cars were. Whoops! Fortunately we had several family members staying at the hotel and caught a ride with my cousin.
Andplusalso it is ok to share your opinion...but we have crossed the fine line of sharing an opinion and being a bit judgy. Quite frankly idgaf how people want to get married. There are too many people who do it the "right" way that end up divorced and too many people who aren't allowed to do it at all. I think a little more loving could go a long way right now.
Had an ultrasound yesterday and now I'm all excited my girls look alike "> Edit: apologies for having five thousand pics. My phone is being dumb and won't let me fix it.
Have all the weddings you want. Celebrating love and commitment is awesome! To Each their Own, and Whatever makes you Happy, and Live and Let Live! And all that stuff. GEEZ. @CAMag looked beautiful yesterday!
No sex on wedding night. I was wiped and it took DH about 30 minutes to get the bobby pins out of my curly hair. I might have asked him to go get scissors and just cut it all off, but he refused. The next morning was much more memorable
So sick of my maternity clothes, but I'll donate it so someone else can get sick of it. However, my giant maternity pillow has been with me for 2 pregnancies and I HATE it. Since this is the last baby, I'm seriously considering burning it! I know DH is dying to get rid of it! 4-ish more weeks to go!
We did have sex on our wedding night but shortly after DH went to the bathroom and when he came back out I was face down on the bed, in my dress, next to a plate of cake with my hand still clasped to the fork
I didn't have sex on my wedding night!!!!!!!!!1!!!
is this awkward enough yet??
we didn't either!! far too tired and hungry - instead we hunted down the leftover pizza from the rehearsal dinner. We went for the morning-after consummation, lol.

I love this. I actually put as the last instruction on my husband's itinerary "remove bride's shoes after bride passes out"
