So I am completely caught up on all the work I do on a daily basis and I asked my boss for an additional project to do this afternoon and she told me just to go home. Awesome! OH except for the fact that DH and I car pooled and our house is 30 minutes away. I guess I will just have to watch TV on my phone all afternoon and take a nap in an empty exam room.
I just ordered my breast pump! The research I did indicate that it does a better job of extracting milk vs. the Medela I had with DS, so I'm excited to see if it lives up to the hype.
Which one did you get? I had a Medela last time and a new one (insurance) this time.
I'm so over work. My c-section would be during my current last week so I need to move up my last day by a week. I think I will be done on the 29th regardless if he flips or not.
DH and I moved 9 hours away from our family at the end of March and it was supposed to be another temporary move (7 months for DH's job) and then we were going to go back. Except we love it so much up here (we spent 6 months here last year) that we are in escrow for a 4 acre piece of land. It's so beautiful! We went and met the neighbors in the area to let them know that we plan on building while temporarily living in our RV there. Everyone was so nice...it's great to know that our neighbors were very receptive. We may be moving on this land in a week or so which means that my DH has a lot of work to do-I have a list of demands to make it comfortable for me and my 3 boys to live there while he's gone most of the summer. I'm so excited only my mom, MIL and FIL know about it. We are waiting to close escrow first before telling the rest of our family.
@KrystaJ, if you're anything like me, starting my second week with nothing to do, you'll slowly go stark raving mad as you get more and more bored...but then you'll find shit to do on here and fb, and things to shop for online, and imaginery vacations to plan/houses to buy...it's becoming nice again.
CharSamm - I've been seeing a chiro for the last couple of weeks for insane hip pain. He doesn't do a lot of cracking, and balances it out with massage, stretching and PT-like exercises. I have faith that if your chiro was recommended for pregnancy issues, you're totally safe.
That said, it's your body and you should never do anything with it that makes you uncomfortable!
We just hit up BRU to use our completion coupon, 20% off coupon, and signed up for the cc to get an extra 15% off and saved $200 on the rest of the stuff we need! Pretty proud of our purchase
This hormone crash sucks. I'm angry at me body for not keeping the baby in there. I'm sad that he's not home with me. I feel this overwhelming guilt like there's something I could've done. I hate that I'm not home with my family. I hate that we have to be separated right now. And I hate that I feel this way because things could be so much worse. And I keep reminding myself be thankful that things aren't worse then they are.
I know exactly how you feel. It gets better. Hang in there. Feel free to pm if you want to talk.
Anyone know when you actually get the BRU completion coupon? I'd like to have everything bought before LO arrives, but the only date they have for me is my due date. Just wondering.
I got mine about a month or even longer ago. Maybe call and check up on it?
@yellowbird219 - def call to ask when you'll get it. I got a phone call about a week after my shower from BRU saying it was in the mail. I was on the lookout for 2 weeks and didn't get it and when I called they didn't know what happened and sent another.
My sweet MIL gave me a $30 amazon gift card for My birthday and I'm thinking of buying the motherhood maternity nursing tank pictured below. Anyone have this and if so did you size up from your pre pregnancy size?
ETA: I think I also added some cacao nibs. For some chocolatyness. They melt less than regular choc chips and I was going for as many "superfoods" as possible.
My office threw us a baby shower today. It was so nice. DH came in NAND met everyone and people were so generous. On top of a bunch of clothes and a few gift certificates, someone bought us a diaper bag (DH can use this one, it's plain black) AND the ergo carrier that I wanted (I'm not sure if ya'll remember me complaining that MIL purposefully bought a different one). It was so nice!
After 8 long days of driving across country we are finally in our new town! Tomorrow we get our house and Wednesday our stuff. I am beyond excited to get back to something that resembles real life
OMG @nutmegs8 LOL NO! She was out on a personal day today. I don't know if I was relieved that I didn't have to watch him keep a straight face, or super disappointed that he didn't get the uh, experience firsthand!
@ElTrain5 - it made me almost cry. DH and I have agreed on no holiday or birthday presents this year because we bought a house and are having a baby so it was really nice to get this from my mom because he didn't get me anything
I have to AW on DD today they had a little ceremony for a little boy who passed away earlier this year and she saw her teacher crying, so she asked if she could give her the flowers I received for Mother's day to make her feel better. She is super sweet and is always thinking of other people and trying to make people feel better when they're sad!:)
@mrsdbc - could you possibly mention it in passing to said person that you and H were going to buyout your registry and you wanted to see if anything was purchased that was/is listed elsewhere that might still be on the registry so you don't duplicate?
@mrsdbc You are a better person than I am for considering this person. I can't stand people who make fake drama, even within my family. But in deference to them, I'd make a general statement of "We get our completion on this date, so we can finally buy the rest of everything we need". That way, you are stating your intentions to buy the rest of your stuff, and it doesn't come off as gift grabby in the sense that you are 'reminding' them to buy you something (I know that's not what you are doing at all, but since this person gets upset over stupid stuff...you never know).
Lol at "I know it's best in some ways for baby to come on it's own".
ETA: it's alright though, she watched a video on YouTube to learn how to check her own cervix. That's pretty much like having a medical background.
Bahaha...and she watched a YouTube video for how to check...obviously she's an expert now. Wow. The one saving grace here is that at least none of the posters are telling her this is a good idea...
My SO is a doctor and while he is not an OB he has tons of training and knows how to check a cervix for dilation and he still won't be checking me. Not that he wants to but I wouldn't ask him. Maybe if I thought something was wrong and couldn't make it to hospital but no, just no! And I don't think I could reach it myself but I do kinda want to watch the YouTube video of this! Kind of!!
@cristykaye - I had DH check me because it I thought I was leaking and we decided it was either he check me or go to L&D and it was late and we were both tired and the home check was free . I will say that is was super weird but it saved us a trip to the hospital but yea super super awkward.
About the lady who checks her own cervix: I'm assuming it's her 3rd kid from her sig... should she still be reproducing when she has questions like this?
i just crossed almost everything off my to-do list! I made 15 padsicles, so now my freezer looks odd with a bunch of pads in ziplocs.
Did you just do pads with water and freeze them? I'm still not sure if I'm going to make padsicles. I bought some Tuck's that I plan to put in the fridge.
Then squeezed some witch hazel over the top, then a couple of drops of lavender essential oil (optional). Put into a gallon-sized ziploc and freeze.
I did this last time and was so glad I did because I had a 3rd degree tear and hemorrhoids (yay tmi!) and the padsicles were like heaven. Cold tucks were nice, but these gave a good hour or two of relief. The Tucks warmed up in like 10 minutes.
I'm sure I can google it, but I'm feeling rather lazy...what purpose does the lavender serve?
My replacement started last Wednesday. She's picking up on everything quick enough that I just hand everything off to her (with the exeception of a few special projects and some more difficult tasks). What am I supposed to do for the next 3 and a half weeks at work?
My replacement has already taken over - I spend a lot of time bumping and shopping on Amazon. And trolling Pinterest
Is it totally weird that I don't find anything strange with the idea of checking your own cervix? (not inducing labor based on your "findings" of course) but just out of curiosity? I checked my cervix everyday as part of TTC for position/texture, so I'll admit to gently checking on it a couple of times while knocked up.
What's the best way to thank work people for a group gift? They are not all in the same location so we can't post something on a bulletin board at the office. Individual thank you cards? Group email thank you? Other ideas?

Nope, no way.
And she would reach up and pull em out if she could. Wtf :-O
