Another epic fail! I didn't take one! I had ink all over my hands trying to keep her from putting her hands in her mouth and didn't grab the camera! Boo me! Boo!
I put DS to bed an hour ago but I'm not tired enough to fall asleep too. Is it crazy that I miss him when he's sleeping? Like I am looking at his pictures on my phone and I just want to pick him up and snuggle him.

DD has been working on pooping all day. She finally does as I laid her down tonight. It was of epic proportions. Then, as I'm cleaning her up, she decides she wasn't done and sharts all over the clean diaper and pjs.
Now that she has more room she's wants to fill all that new space with milk...

7 weeks later I still stink and sweat like a 13 year old boy
Sympathy lovetitting, I'm in the same boat though only 4 weeks PP. I can't shower while DH is at work, nowhere to put A in the bathroom with me so I know she's okay. 8-}

Holy balls; I just pumped 5 oz! That's literally twice as much as the most I ever managed to pump in one sitting with DD. Makes me wish I had a double electric or a hospital grade rental. I could turn myself into a cow. 3:-O

I can't wait for my 6 week appointment tomorrow. For the first time in my life, I'm depressed, like clinically. I guess we should've done more than just PPA prevention...
@JessieAlbin I'm sorry you're having supply issues. I had trouble with it when I had DD as well. Have you tried renting a hospital grade pump? That's what I did and it didn't miraculously give me a huge supply but I was able to keep giving DD at least SOME breast milk for 9-10 months before it wasn't worth the effort anymore. I didn't respond as well to the retail quality pump. Also, I apologize. I hadn't seen your post before I made my post about pumping. Terrible timing on my part.

Aw, no worries, I'm glad your boobs are doing their job so well! I s'pose if I didn't have supply issues I would be dealing with a whole other set of issues and challenges. It was such a hassle getting this pump (insurance covered it but was a nightmare to make them take care of it) that I can't see us trying to spend more time/ energy/money getting another pump. But I do know that my boobs respond better to the pump than they do to my kid. And the pump doesn't scream at me. So that's a bonus.
@kseccomb17 It's great that you'll be getting some focus on you tomorrow. There's nothing you could have done to have prepared yourself for your journey of the past few weeks. Hopefully your doc will help you focus on recovering with your family. You are AWESOME. Don't forget that. Seriously, you're such a strong woman and I can't imagine you not bouncing back. One hour at a time...
Tonight sucks, I miss having help from my DH. G woke up to eat, I fed him and laid him down. And then my dog got sick and my parents don't have a fenced in yard. So I got to stand outside with him for over a hour. We finally got back inside, fell asleep and G is awake less than a hour later. Tomorrow is going to be rough!
Really kid, 3 diaper changes during one nighttime feeding?! Now it's an hour later and he is wide awake. My earlier sentiment about missing him when he's asleep does not apply to during the night when I want to sleep.

Sounds like it's been a massive hassle all around. I couldn't blame you for not wanting to bother with another pump! In all honesty, after struggling with supply issues for months making the final switch to completely formula feeding was a huge weight off my shoulders. By the time I finally switched I think only about 1/4 of her feeds were breast milk. There was a brief period of disappointment in the finality of it, but ultimately it was a relief. I'm sure you guys will do great either way!

How is my child so quiet on my chest but soooo loud and grunty the second I put her in her RnP?! She's not awake but sleep while she is so noisy is impossible...
How can such a tiny adorable girl rip such manly, loud farts?!? Nursing her now in the living room and hubster called from the bedroom, "Oh my GAWD did you just fart??"
M slept for two three hour chunks last night! AND dh did the diaper change in the !middle. ooortunately, I used the wrong boob and woke up super engorged and in a puddle, ooops
We made it!! The drive wasn't that bad, only made on extra stop. I think the dog was more troublesome than the kids.
Also, how is it that my older two kids make me lose , more sleep than my 4 week old? DD was up for 3 hours last night and ODS refused to sleep by himself after 2 am...but Logan only got up every 3 hours to eat and went right back to sleep.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
I just had my first successful outing with Merri! Went to the grocery store, Target and Petsmart (all located in the same pavilion). I totally rocked the moby. She didn't cry or fuss at all.
@Jessieann1020 YES! I live in northern Kentucky and a lot of people just...well, don't look like me (I'm thin, have boy-short hair, tattoos, piercings, etc...your typical 'hippie' stuff). So to see a mom who is two weeks PP, skinny and walking around rocking a moby was a bit of a show. It made me feel awesome! But I feel empowered mainly because I was able to handle it all with aplomb.
We tried a new bedtime routine last night and DH couldn't believe we only ended up having to get up twice last night! Plus, LO was asleep when we went to bed rather than us fighting with him for an hour. Hopefully this was not a one time occurrence.
My nips are sore. I think the latch is good, and I always have a surge of pain for the first few seconds, but dear goodness they are REALLY sore today! What else causes sore nips besides a bad latch?

@pineconey and @dani+california...my LC told me that as long as the nipple comes out round and not flat like a kernel of corn, it's a good latch. If you're coming out corny, make the LO relatch. I am STILL working on this with Merriwether. When she latches well and I'm not kernel-corny, it doesn't hurt at all.
I finally had a breakdown and screamed at A last night when she wouldn't stop fussing. She looked up at me and her expression was pure betrayal. I feel like a huge pile of shit for causing such a look. (

I feel like LO fits weird in his car seat. His little head slouches down and when he cries it sounds like his airway isn't totally open. But when I check, he's breathing just fine. I've checked and the seat is installed correctly. I still can't help but feel like he's uncomfortable

Try coconut oil. I would use it ever now and then and didn't notice a difference and at 7 weeks pp I still wanted to cry they hurt so bad. I've been using it religiously after every pump and they feel So. Much. Better.

What seat do you have?
We have the Chicco Keyfit.
We have the same one and I feel exactly the same way.

My lactation consultant reccomended rotating positions to help prevent soreness.
I felt like that with our Chicco keyfit initially. It seems better now that I try to get LO's butt pushed all the way back and his back really straight so his shoulders are a little higher up in the seat, then I tighten like crazy and he looks less crunched.
My nipples are sore too, I think it's lazier latch lately with more clustering, but am super freaked that I have thrush again since they are a bit pink. I've started my home APNO (clotrimazole, HC 1% and antibacterial ointment) but thinking to call for the real stuff. There's nothing in LO's mouth, so I'm trying to stay positive and work on latch. We'll see. I may lose my mind if it's thrush again.

I took the shoulder pad things off and it made it easier to scooch him up. It seems to work a bit better.
Hanging out in bed with LO- it's not really bed sharing if momma isn't going to sleep, right? The goal is to get DS to fall asleep so I can move him to his napper so mom can have a shower....

My bf's side of the bed turns to DS's in the day. We hang out, nap, nurse side lying and I'm proud of it lol
Awesome part of side nursing? I can eat my yogurt while he eats. 2nd awesome part of side nursing? DS is the perfect length to kick me right in the incision. Ouch.
