I have a pic of DH at 4 weeks old on my birthday. But he was one month old two days later. @deidremaria‌ may have the record for RTTer with the biggest age gap with SO. Am I the winner for closest in age? Anyone closer than a month?

Dh is 26 days older than me.

She has been super generous to us and was so, so excited to spend time with her grandbaby, which was great to see, but it was still rough to be around her at times.  I have been sitting here this morning feeling like an assholish, ungrateful daughter for not being nicer but I think I did the best I could.   This is a huge life transition!!!  It's normal for there to be rough patches.

Anyway, hugs to you.  I feel ya! :)
This is absolutely how I feel! She and my dad have made us meals, bought us groceries, taken us out and babysat so we could celebrate our second year anniversary early. They've done a TON! But it's also so freaking stressful and emotionally exhausting to have to babysit her while she's here. If she doesn't get the baby long enough she pouts/gets passive aggressive/etc. I've been really working on having compassion for her in lieu of anger and frustration.

Hugs back to you! I can't imagine you're a shitty daughter. I bet you're the exact opposite. Focus on you and your little one and hang in there, too!

  • Welcome back @PoppySeedWindsor‌ ! Sorry about your Mom. Not much more I can add on top of what others have already said.
Anyways, glad you're back! RTT has been getting pretty slow and I know I don't contribute as much as I read but I'm glad you're back to posting!

  • What is a month old? Is it 4 weeks or the day the babe was born but the next month? Like the boys were born April 9th, so is May 9th a month or this Wednesday when they are 4 weeks?
I count it as the day of birth. Emma will be a month old on the 8th. How in the shit has it been a month already?!

  • Had to give up eggs and dairy to see if it will reduce suspected reflux...dairy is in EVERYTHING that I want to snack on. While I was eating lots of natural and healthy options before B was here, one handed and packaged snacks are the norm now& i have had to thoroughly read labels. Oreos are actually approved, but DH refused to buy them (evil).

@PoppySeedWindsor I'm only 3 weeks into this mom thing (so grain of salt, etc.), but so far I think the best thing I did for my sanity was give up on worrying about days vs. nights with sleeping. At least for Olive, how well she sleeps at night seems completely independent of how awake she is during the day. We do have a bedtime "routine", but other than that I just gave into the randomness and she seems to be figuring it out slowly on her own.
I've noticed that the better quality of Emma's naps during the day (at least 2 hours), the better and easier she goes down at night.

Starbucks should offer a "Frappy Year" for new moms. Because I need a half priced Frappuccino at 6am when I'm on the third feeding of the day, NOT 3-5pm when I'll be trying to fall asleep at 7pm. Also, they should just deliver--I'd tip well! ;)

Can I tell you about my left boob? Fed DS from both sides at bedtime, then pumped them both dry. Woke up at 4:30a and fed DS from both sides to discover my left was SOAKING wet! I'm still sleeping on my back exclusively, so it's not like I smushed it. Woke up at 9a, soaked AGAIN. DS is still sleeping so I'm pumping and the left just gave me 2oz in 3 minutes on a low setting. Dear goodness! Lefty! What is going on?!

  • My mom seems to think she is only here for the week to hold the baby. She isn't even cleaning up after HERSELF, never mind helping me with the cleaning. She is very sensitive so now I need to give her the hint without being bitchy (not an easy task for me when it comes to my mom). I had told her before she got here that I would like help with cleaning, laundry and cooking but she must have thought I was kidding. :-/

Just out of curiosity, how often are your LO's eating? During the day it's pretty much every two hours, for a half hour. I'm lucky if I get 3.5 hours once at night.. I'm guessing it's partly due to his size (he's around 7 lbs right now) and will get better as he gets bigger and older.

I don't really keep track, but I've got a 10lb 11 day kiddo and he eats about every 3 hours during the day and we have gone up to about 4 hours at night.

Toddler puked everywhere as I was making breakfast. And G screamed the entire time I cleaned it up, but I couldn't stop and comfort him because then the toddler or dog would have gotten into it. And how had is a dirty disposable diaper on a dog's digestive track? Because my dog definitely ate one this morning.
    I'm ready for a break.

    I'm a vet tech.

How big is your dog? It may go through especially if he shredded it first and is a decent sized dog.

Feed and treat him normally just watch for vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, straining to deficate.

The worry is intestinal blockage. He may just have an upset stomach/ diarrhea. Or he may feel fine depending on how sensitive he is.

    Edit: posted too soon
  • Happy Tuesday babes!

Soooo Dr gave me the green light yesterday to get it on.
Having sex again was scary! I felt like I was about to loose me virginity, I was so nervous and timid. It was hilarious.

HAHAAAA how was it though? I've been thinking about getting in the sack a lot and I'm sure once I get the ok I'll be a punk.
  • What kinda nicknames have your little ones gotten? I've been calling Dylan dill pickle, puppy, and crazy pants.

Squeeks cause he makes the best little noises and grunts an DH calls him Cal L cause he's very superman like with his strength and neck skills

I call LO monkey. When she is swaddled I call her monkey burrito.

DH calls her sweetie which is confusing because he used to call me that so I never know if he's talking to me or the baby.

  • Lmao at the goose noises. Lady face reminds me of what my mom always called me as a kid and still does. Lady bug 8->
  • @mrscrcalli‌ ahhh I'm totally terrified for sexy time. Did you have tears? Eta: tears from delivery?

Yeah second degree.. Dr said I was all healed up stitches were gone.

LO is also about 7lbs. She eats every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-3.5 at night.

  • I had my first mama meltdown today mopping up a cup of spilled coffee (the last of the cold coffee I've been trying to drink for like 4 hours). It's been 6 weeks and I feel like I've held it together fairly well, but today is the perfect storm and I've crossed over into "way over my head" territory. Baby won't nap and has to be going through a growth spurt, my house is a disaster, DH is insanely stressed at work and home and I'm just plain exhausted. ::deep cleansing breaths::

  • We also call him cave baby because he makes these cut grunting sounds accompanied by a screech when waking up.
  • I was just trying out our new carrier and pinched my little man's arm with one of the buckles. Of course I cried longer than he did and I still feel terrible. He's sleeping already and I still want to kill myself for causing my puppy pain.
  • I call Merriwether Peanut, Chubalub and regular old Darlin'.

  • I'm looking forward to having sex again, but don't know how we'd find the time or the energy. Every time LO has a nap, all I want to do is sleep or clean.

Went and bought some Dr Brown bottles today to see if that'll help with LO's gas. The last two days have been a constant cycle of boob-gas-crying-boob-gas-crying-burp-sleep-boob-gas-crying.

I know everyone says 'enjoy this time!' but I cannot wait til he's at least old enough to interact with me to make this feel worthwhile.

I'm with you on sex. I was turned on and ready to mount hubster 48 hours postpartum. I miss the intimacy. The hottest touch I get is a slight back rub when I'm nursing with my shirt off. Feels odd to be turned on while nursing...

  • Also. In the waiting room for Merriwether's first appointment. The room is PACKED with people and all I can see are germs, germs, GERMS! There's a snotty kid running around touching everything and everyone. He is the exact kid from the movie, A League of Their Own. Snot and annoying was and everything. I never thought I'd want to make my kid a bubble child but now I'm paranoid she'll catch her death here!
