So I looked. And I totally shouldn't have. I'm pretty sure I didn't heal the right way. Totally tmi but it looks like there's another hole down there now! Like the skin didn't heal together or something. I did have an episiotomy. Normal or should I be worried?
That's what I look like and I had an episiotomy too. I think it might just take some more time. How much PP are you?
Almost 4 weeks. Glad I'm not the only one! I panicked for sure!
My stepmom is incredibly back-country rural Canadian and met LO for the first time yesterday. Love her to bits but she's not the sharpest.
Anyhow, she was feeding Quinn when she started telling us about when her son was 1 month old, she decided to switch from formula to 2% milk. Then she 'felt bad' that he was always getting 'the same thing' so she started giving him chocolate milk. In his bottle.
At 3 months she was giving him pop. In his bottle.
She wasn't gone 3 seconds and DH turns to me and says 'she's never babysitting for us!' Bwahaha shit.
@-) My eyes got wider and wider the further I read. Poor baby
Speaking of mothers...

Oh lord. My mom gave me strawberry flavored milk in a bottle when I was a toddler (did not end well for my two front baby teeth!), but that's just a whole different ball game right there.

Shaved my legs for the first time since the baby was born. I think I could've braided the hair down there! I would've let it go if it wasn't going to be 97 tomorrow.
I feel like I overdress LO for bed but I don't want him to be cold. Our bedroom is 65° and I have him in a fleece bodysuit and a SwaddleMe. We have a fan on in the room at night too. Does that seem too warm to you?
I struggle with this too, and then I always feel like she is too hot. She's a little sweat machine, and ends up sweaty even if she's not that layered, so I don't know what to do

Our house is at 70 and we use a fleece sleeper and a blanket.
I guess I should appreciate my mother's brand of crazy - she's suddenly vehemently for whatever the latest recommendations or the new popular mom choices, and she pretends she followed them when I know she didn't. I was 10 when her youngest was born, I remember that my siblings were formula fed. And I double checked with my dad; she's lying about the med-free birth.
I should ask her about baby-wearing next...
My MIL and stepmom clearly roll their eyes at some new things, like the back sleeping, but they are good about going with what we say. My stepmom is so blasé about the sleeping recs because they changed for each one of her kids. When my first sister was born it was still all stomach sleeping, when my brother was born the AAP had switched to recommending side sleeping, and by the time my youngest sister was born the rec had changed to back sleeping. I think all the changes left my stepmom with the impression they're just making things up. :P
This is totally my mom. She's nazi rule follower now when it comes to my kids, but totally let us do whatever back in the day!

In regards to all the recommendations- my SO is under the impression that it's all made up as well. He tells me to ask the baby what he would prefer and that he won't believe anything until scientists and doctors can go back in time and experience it as a baby. Like I told him babies can't see very far... He asks for proof and how they know for sure etc. Luckily even though he's obnoxious he still follows whatever I tell him is best.
I had to take DH to the airport this evening so he could do out-of-state business. I'm not even two weeks PP. I'm so lonely now and afraid solo parenting this early is going to be rough on me
If you need mommy company we can do lunch or something. Might help to get out of the house

@KendraColeslaw boo. I hate when visitors are more work than they are worth. I mean you have a nb! You don't need to be taking care of other people too!

Weird FFSC - I'm more scared of the idea of labor and delivery of a third than I was of my first. There are some legitimate concerns (I had uterine tachysystole both times - scary stuff), but decidedly more irrational ones, too - like having had pretty easy/straightforward recoveries makes me think I'm "in for it" if we try again. Blah. Not sure if I'm just pre-momnesia or if these feelings are going to stick.
I felt the same way with #4, i was so worried that something was going to go wrong because the first 3 went so well.
Soooo many TPs for my husband, who, during DS's middle-of-the-night screaming freak out (normal), kissed my shoulder and got out of bed to go sleep on the couch. Yeah, dude, I know you have to work tomorrow, which is why I've handled the other middle-of-the-night freakouts and diaper changes. That doesn't mean you get a free pass from waking up overnight. I guess we're in this together.... Until 3am, and then I'm on my own.

I swear we are the same sometimes. My MIL is also rural/ back country Canadian. Like full on farm woman who didn't have electricity or running water until her 20's. God love her but she has got to stop telling me about all the times she almost killed DH as a baby or she will NEVER get LO alone ever. Let's see, there was the time he rolled off the bed and and couldn't get him to wake up for hours at like 3 months, the time they let he jump around the back seats of their van when he was 2 and got in a car accident and almost went through the front windshield, OH, and the time she left his older cousin (8) in charge of him and he fell through the ice at the age of 4 and almost drowned..... I'm seriously lucky I even have a husband!!
A has turned witching "hour" into witching "quarter of the fucking day". My nipples are raw from nursing to try to get her to sleep, she's been changed several times in the last few hours, and I'm surprised we haven't had anyone knocking on our apartment door to complain about the screaming. I feel like the bitchy female character from Scrubs who had a son and PPD and "wanted to throw that little bastard out the window". DH seems to be in the same boat, being short on sleep as well. (:|

I guess the dog isn't getting enough attention...he chewed one of my shoes, something he has never done before. Fortunately it was a $2 pair of flip flops so I'm not too upset over the loss but I'm not too thrilled with him right now.

My SO went to the couch last night too because he has a cough and "didn't want to wake the baby" I was pissed but his cough was annoying the shit out of me anyway. Secretly hoping I get the cough so I can use the excuse go sleep on the couch and make him bring the baby to me every time he wakes up.
I can't believe I wished to get sick.. Motherhood :-w
I'm starting to get frustrated that I can't pick up on a pattern of B's eating and sleeping. She is 3 weeks and I feel terrible that I can't anticipate what is going to happen each day. I love that she sleeps well in my arms and swing during the day but she is so noisy when on her back in the PNP all night. It seems like she never hits deep sleep, stresses me out and keeps me up, but she seems content
The latest pediatric tip from my mother: nobody waits until baby is 4-5 months old to introduce cereal. If my baby lives on just breastmilk until that age he'll be malnourished. He needs more than just my breast milk. I really want to tp this woman who has never breasted any of her children and refuses to learn about it but instead tries to impose her own ideas of what should be done.

That word makes my blood boil! My MIL told me LO was malnourished the other day after being on my case about formula since the day we got home. I packed my little family up and left!
@hbell12@Jessieann1020 these people are so annoying. It's one thing if they actually know what they're talking about but it's way more annoying that they have no clue what the hell they're talking about, think they do, and run around spouting a bunch of bullshit and insulting people. I think what annoys me most is the fact that they won't shut up and listen and learn about something they have no clue about. My mom seriously said that baby won't get enough vitamins from my breastmilk.
@deidremaria I know! I told her to educate herself but instead she started researching formula and getting other people to talk to me about it. Wtf? She even called me a "bad mom" and said my child was malnourished. Seriously? I could have beat her. I hate when people think before they speak and believe that their way is the only way of doing things. Ugh.

I agree. But I mostly lurk now and don't get on even to do that as often as I used to, so I get why people aren't on as much.
Was going to add a pic but can't for some reason
