Here is my southern food review...Carolina bbq, yes please. Biscuits and gravy, yes but I feel like I ate a brick. Grits, not a fan (they remind me of steel cut oatmeal!). Collard greens, could be good but they make them too damn salty. Pralines...holy fuckballs how have I never had them before?!?!? We leave Friday, anything else I need to try?

    Fried or pickled okra?

Yes!!! Fried okra is the bomb!

My mom's 50th birthday is Friday & we're surprising her with a trip to Nashville (where I am). My aunt is flying in from Colorado & my sister is driving up from Memphis. I am responsible for making dinner reservations & I can't decide where to go :(( I should have finalized these plans a week ago but kept forgetting X_X

Memphis! Where I am. I'd go to cheesecake factory because we don't have one here and because you know, pregnancy. Y'all have fun!

My dad loves CF but we go there every time they are in town! Not to mention they don't take reservations & the wait on a Friday night will be completely insane.
  • @LiteraChick‌ DH saw your HDBD pic from last week I think (maroon shirt, hot face) and he said you remind him of Helena Bonham Carter, who I think is super gorgeous so I had to share :)

My dog, who used to be my snuggle-buddy, now only wants to hang with DH. Like, totally ignores me, but gets all excited when he walks in the room. I'm not sure how to process this.
My sister works for a veterinary organization and says there is some research out there that shows dogs can sense hormone changes in their pregnant owners and it can cause them to act out sometimes. My dog has started occasionally going through our dirty clothes and throwing them all over the bedroom and my sister hypothesized that he's pissed off that I'm pregnant. Not sure how much truth there is to all that, but it could explain the change in your dog. Maybe you don't "smell" as familiar anymore?

I've heard this and my dog Rocky Top is crazy about inside babies. He loves them, although he loved DD more than this one. When I was pregnant with DD he would howl if DH would keep him away from the belly and me. He's always thought DD was his baby.
My "perfect" puppy has kind of become an attention whore/asshole recently.  She *loves* babies and toddlers who are not in the womb, but never got the memo that I'm KU so continues to put her 75-80lbs of chunka right on top of my uterus to cuddle with me.  She also has become insanely jealous of any time DH and I spend snuggling each other without her in the middle... I'm pretty sure that I should start looking for that perfect dog farm I heard about from the friend of a friend at this point.

Also, @Jessa8907, I feel like you're probably not talking about me but I use too many exclamation/question marks constantly, and also too many emoticons.  The latter mostly because I know I sound like a bitch without the sarcastic tone and I don't always intend to and sometimes because there's nothing quite as satisfying as typing, "fuck you. :)" to someone.

Your avatar is totally confusing me. I was like "when did I write this?"

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
  • @Salsera29‌ I'm in Charleston now too! We're here for the week and I have to disagree about the grits. They should be nice and buttery and creamy so if they're reminding you if steel cut oats you need to try somewhere better. On a separate food related note, we're going to Hank's tomorrow night and I can't wait. DH says it's one of the best places in town.

  • Hit snooze too many times this morning so I didn't have time to eat breakfast at home. I was pretty sure I had a packet of oatmeal here at work to eat, but I don't. Ahhh! I'm going to be eating my lunch at like 9:00 a.m. at this rate! :(

  • @SarahVol131, did you see her in The King's Speech? It totally threw me to see her play someone so elegant and un-Belletrix LeStrange like!
I love HBC for that reason. THough I've heard her interviewed and it's hard to follow a lot of what she says, she switches gears a lot. But damn if she isn't a good actress.

The King's Speech was freaking amazing. So many good actors.

Ugh. I just saw on my boss' calendar an inpromptu meeting invite from my VP that is labeled "Discussion". Do you know how paranoid this makes me? I'm like -- is it about me? is it because I'm on the internet/bump too much? I am not doing my job well? Am I in trouble?

This kind of stuff always makes me super paranoid too! And if my garage pass doesn't work on the first try I immediately think maybe I got fired and this is their way of telling me.

  • My SIL is getting married in May.  For her colors, she chose blue and purple.  She waited until Easter time when the M&M pastel colors were available and bought 15 of the 56 oz. bags (that's about 1,750 of M&M's per bag).

Over one week her and her Fiancé went through each of them and pulled out the blue's and purple's.  After she told me about this, I asked why they didn't just go to the M&M's website and order the right colors and then she doesn't have to worry about having bunnies and chicks on her wedding M&M's.   She said it would cost more money to do that.  I looked it up, for what they needed, it would have cost $250, she paid $300.

Here is the picture of all their hard work.  You see those pink ones. She was trying to be nice and gave them to me when she found out I was having a girl, for me to use as an announcement or something..  I asked if she used gloves, she did not.  I have them in a dish for all the students to eat.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

I wish I had this much time.

I wonder if she will tell her wedding guests she didn't use gloves. yuck.

I've never seen that movie -- honestly my taste in movies is very juvenile.

I asked her that and she just brushed it off.  I plan on telling anyone that I care about.

Depends on who you are rooting for. ;)
    hi

  • On a scale of "One to Crazy Lady" am I insane for considering attending an NBA playoff game at 28 weeks pregnant?

I think you're crazy, pregnant or not, to willingly deal with all that traffic. Blech! Even though we are able to park inside the MLGW building anytime we go downtown I still wouldn't deal with all the crazies.

No way. Not crazy at all.
I put you close to one. Crazy lady if you are full term and the baby is crowning

Insane for attending, but only because you're willing to watch something that doesn't even resemble basketball anymore ;)
there are two motivations in sports, which is yours?
  • Oh no. I put my chocolate next to the vent on my laptop and it's all melting. I'm trying to save it all by scrafing down melted chocolate now.

Do pudding packs come in bigger sizes? These little things are not cutting it for me.
You mean, you aren't supposed to eat them in sets of four?
No, Jessa. I don't know about you but I can't afford hundreds of pudding packs. I need to stretch it out and try to savor each one if they weren't gone in like 5-7 scoops. But seriously, they are kid sized. Are they trying to tell me I shouldn't be eating them as an adult? Or that I shouldn't be overindulging? I am surprised this has never been issue enough for them to make jumbo sized packs.

Side note: Manager walked in on me while bumping the other day and I guess I had just looked at something Jessa had posted so I had to sit here with her gif dancing in the background for 20 minutes while I held a conversation with my boss. She could see it, it was right up on the screen. Hope she is a HIMYM fan.
