deidremaria  I almost forgot, Indy did catch a snake once. He was staying with my sister, who is terrified of snakes, and snatched it from under a bush on a walk. She was glad he had killed a snake before she got to it, but also freaked out because he had a snake in his mouth like "Hey! Look at my new toy!"
    Now that is impressive!!!!

  • I finally transferred all my phone photos onto an external hard drive and cleared them from my phone. And I now have room for new pics to auto upload to Dropbox for a while. Now I don't have to worry about losing any future baby pics or pics of my deceased dog Domino. I swear my phone was THIS close to crashing. Just one of those things I was procrastinating on with a shadow of eminent doom over me. Check! Done!
  • @Stace0616‌ so lame. I hate that for you, boo to asshole medical professionals dismissing you for your size. It's one thing to say, "yep, sounds like you're pregnant and getting close. There's a lot of that toward the end, come and see us when your water breaks or you have 5-1-1 contractions." And a whole other thing to be an asshole about your weight. I hope that bitch gets a hemorrhoid.
  • Thanks ladies! I don't mean to be such a Debbie Downer, I just think this pregnancy would have been a lot different if I had been 50-100lbs lighter. But it happened so fast that it's like let's just deal with things they way they are, you know? And I've been this size for years and years--I know what's normal for MY body.

@avidkeo‌ my pit bull used to wait for iguanas to fall out the trees and she'd have a ball with them. Imagine the crunching of an iguana. Heart breaking. I miss that girl

I love that you have iguanas in your trees - I remember them hanging around in Jamaica. Makes me want to vacation so badly. You live where people pay thousands to vacay!!! Count your blessings :)
I try to remind myself of that when I complain about what's not available to us.

Don't have iguanas here, but she also catches - and eats - skinks (little ones), birds and the other day she caught a rabbit!!! It was half her size and she couldn't kill it. We had to take it off her and shut her in the bedroom for half an hour.

And I agree with you about living in a place people spend thousands to vacation but don't get the same things!! I hate hearing about all the yummy treats and junk food you guys have that we just don't - and even if we did I still wouldn't have easy access to because we live rural.

But I do have a beach right across the road, here is the view from my bedroom...
    image

and just because I'm AWing here is a pic of my cat with her rabbit - she was so proud

  • Siblings day totally makes me want to make sure we have like 5 kids. My siblings and I are not close at all and never have been- I hate it. I want my kids to be close!

Oh and then I remember how much I hate being pregnant and 5 kids = 5 years of pregnancy/recovery.

    .....

    Ok, 3 bio, 2 adopted.

  • @mamamonzo I was telling my big sister the other day that's baby isn't even born yet and I think he's growing up so fast. My bf thinks I'm gonna smother him because he's gonna be my only child.
  • Just got my last pre-baby wax, baby diapers all washed, house clean. It's almost like I'm out of denial that a baby is coming soon.

You would think that hanging out between a 3 and 4 for the past week would have made that happen sooner. #whatsnesting?

As much as I want to give in to my FOMO on the RTT, I just don't think I can catch up. Had my first post-op shower and I almost feel human again! We get to go home from the hospital tomorrow and I cannot wait to be there. T&Ps to all that need them, hugs all around and congrats to the latest new mamas!

    Congrats again! :)

  • Took a 15 minute walk and finally checked out the cute little park next door. Lots of shade and I can't imagine it being too busy! Yay!

Back hurts like hell now... Where's my labor?

  • DH called Comcast to see what their best/cheapest deal would be. We're going to save freaking $90 a month over our FIOS package. Getting 80 channels, and sick internet. Winning.
We really need to do this too. I hate Comcast though.

It's actually still super cool to say "winning" all the time, so good job.

    Snail burp.

  • @nikki912 Hang in there! You're definitely NOT the worst mom in the world. There is SO FREAKING MUCH going on with your body that you have ZERO control over. It's a bitch, plain and simple. Give yourself compassion. Keep on crying if you need to (I did the same exact thing you did yesterday in the bath then got too hot and cried naked in living room until I passed out for two hours) and have your SO give you a big fat hug. Maybe curl up with your little one and watch a movie?

    You can do this!
Thank you. I needed to hear that! Today has been better, less tears and more patience. One day at a time!

    ((Hugs))

  • @nikki912‌ I totally feel like a crappy mom most days, but DS doesn't seem to care. He still wants to fall asleep with me, give me snuggles and kisses, and runs in iur bedroom to see me in the morning. I promise your LO forgives you. <3 The days are long, but the years are short ladies. This guy makes me melt.
Thats definitely true. He is currently on antibiotics and usually its a shitshow trying to get him to take it, but this morning before he was allowed to get me up DH made him have his medicine first. THe boy took it like a champ immediately. I know how much he loves me. It is the most amazing feeling having them run into your arms like you are absolutely the best thing that has ever exsisted!

  • I don't get any of these geico commercials. What'd they do with the gecko?
  • Feeling a little frustrated. My mom and good friend told me that if I still feel a lot of movement that labor isn't near. LO is super active and only stops moving when I'm up and moving. So I feel like if he's moving the same as normal then I'm that much further from labor :/

I'm 2 weeks 2days out from my EDD today. My baby has been doing the craziest movements yet, though he's always been active. It was making me scream because it was like horror movie stuff, I thought he might perform his own c-section then and there!

I've heard they become less active before labor, but how many days before generally. Like are they less active for a whole week or little to no movement for a day or two before labor? Or is the whole thing just another bs wive's tale?

    Me: I have elephant ankles!
    DH: ...Elephants don't have ankles.
    Me: Exactly. :(

Me too! I am on D2 of compression socks. Love. Them. Gettin my granny on.
I have been wearing mostly closed toe boots because I've only had minor swelling, but I'd rather not show off my sausage toes and cankles. Yesterday I positively had no shoe options but flip flops, which were comfortable, but I was seriously so self conscious of my fat feet and lack of ankle.

  • Eff you plane ticket prices. Trying to schedule flights this summer so my family can meet the baby and 1) can't use my companion fare because DH has to come after I do because of work 2) prices jumped $50 for each of us. So do I get them for the extra $100 or wait it out?
I hateeeee this game. Especially when $1000 is on the line.

You know you're super pregnant when you are procrastinating and rethinking going on a Target run. I love going to Target, but I'm not sure I have it in me to go.

I have also been procrastinating this. Partially because I've been procrastinating getting a new computer since my old one crashed. I finally ordered one today so that I'll have it for maternity leave.

@pineconey I heard a trick that that if you clear your cookies the prices go back down. Apparently, sites like expedia etc will change ticket prices according to how many times you've searched on different prices or looked it back up on their site. I'm not sure but it might work?

I believe this. Sometimes I shop online and leave stuff in my cart, think it over for a few days and when I go back it's been mysteriously marked back up, unrelated to sale dates or anything like that.

Does anyone else remember that story about some chick giving birth into the leg of her onesie pajamas? I'd kind of be okay with that being my birthing story at this point.
    That was in NZ!!!!
Edit: ah ok, maybe not??? Im sure that was here but a quick google showed it was a chick in the UK.
